Date of Stay:

We were assigned a beautiful site overlooking the lake, right above the office. Spacious and shady sites, easy to maneuver. All amenities were well maintained and operable. Our children loved the pool. It was crystal clear with lots of shady chairs as well as spots for sunbathing. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable in providing advice about the area and restaurants. Only stayed one night on our way to another destination, but would go back for a longer stay in the future. Wisconsin at its best!

Date of Stay:

We stayed in the Ranch section which offered shade and yet allowed nice breezes throughout the day. Maneuvering was a bit tight but not impossible. Showers and laundry were kept spotlessly clean and were within close range of our site. Rafter J is located right on some of the most interesting parts of the Mickelson Bike Trail. Staff was extremely courteous and pleasant. The $2 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, offered by a retired couple on the property each morning, was very convenient and a great way to start the day. We will definitely stay there again when in the Black Hills. It was centrally located to all that we wanted to see and do. The town of Hill City is also nicely maintained with several interesting shops and access to the Mickelson Bike Trail.
