Bluewater Tent and Trailer Park, Wiarton, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Town owned campground right on the bay. Good grass sites, well drained and flat. Office is a renovated train depot dating back to steam days. Some nice walks along the bay. A 2 block walk to downtown that gave access to several stores without driving. If you tow a boat there is an excellent town launch ramp right alongside the campground. We camped at Bluewater Tent and Trailer Park in a Truck Camper.

Heart of Texas Lake Resort, Burnet, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Found by accident when local State Park was full. Great accident as the park is right on lake LBJ with a boat launch and docks, motel rooms, level gravel sights with good wood picnic tables. The cable TV and WiFi is included as well as 30 & 50 amp electric, water and sewer. Will definitely come back when we are in the area again. Pool is unheated but quite large. Mini golf is an added charge. We camped at Heart of Texas Lake Resort in a Truck Camper.

Cypress Campground & RV Park, Winter Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two weeks while visiting friends in the area. Sites were level and gravel. All services worked well and cable TV and wifi was included. While the pool was not large and there was only one activity building the residents were friendly and helpful even though we were only there for a short stay. We had no problem getting a site in late November/December they were heavily booked for the first three months in 2015. We celebrated Thanksgiving while there, the park provided turkey and ham while the attendees supplied the sides. It was an excellent meal and a very enjoyable thanksgiving. We camped at Cypress Campground & RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Sites fully paved and level. On check in we were given a park map, keys to golf cart and asked to pick the site(s) we liked. Thought this was a great idea and very unusual. When we left to tour Hilton Head the park put a traffic cone at the end of our site to show it was occupied - thoughtful touch. There is an in park restaurant which we did not use as it has a limited menu and is quite pricy. You MUST be self contained - there are no restrooms or showers. We camped at Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina in a Truck Camper.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

As noted elsewhere the WI-FI is very slow and difficult to connect to. They use a 3rd party service and all connections are through their server which slows it down considerably. We were there in November and the washrooms were barely warm. Traffic is very busy on the road outside the park making entry and departure tricky. There are three gas stations within a block as well as grocery and drugstore. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Truck Camper.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a back in site on the river. Site was gravel and level. Definitely will come back again. Close to the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but far enough away to avoid to crowds. Highway is being widened so traffic is a bit of a mess for the next year or so. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Truck Camper.

I-75 Camper Village, Dry Ridge, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here on our way South. It is close to the highway so a bit noisy. Check in was by cell phone and putting our money and name on an envelope into a mail slot. Washrooms were locked and not available. WI-FI required a password which was not supplied. Site was gravel and level. OK for a night stop during the off season but no reason to stay longer. We camped at I-75 Camper Village in a Truck Camper.

Cincinnati South Campground, Crittenden, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Both Woodalls and Trailer Life web sites show they are open until Dec. 1. However when we pulled up late on Nov. 10 it was closed and had a sign saying they would reopen March 1. Since it was late in the day this was not a good sign. Fortunately we found another campground a few miles away which was open. We camped at Cincinnati South Campground in a Truck Camper.
