Island House RV Park, Grand Isle, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We are giving this RV Park a "10" for Excellent (for "our purposes"). We are full timers, retired and enjoy "adult RV Parks." No pool, kids slides, etc - just a nice parking spot. Group Campfire was next to us and almost every night folks sat around enjoying Grand Isle. If only the owners of some of the other parks we have stayed in could be 1/2 as nice as these folks. Everything stated above about them is true. We came for 2 weeks and spent a whole month - $100 a week. If you are looking for an "action packed" RV Park or city - don't go to Grand Isle. If you like the ultimate "kick back life style" you will be in luck. Beach is just across the street and a morning walk (or run) is just beautiful. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

As with most folks that have posted, this is a great park if you want to be close to downtown Savannah and the surrounding sights. They just put in some new sites, 50 amp pull throughs and 2 of them are "buddy sites" if you want to park right next to each other and share the middle ground. We just want to come back to our RV and go to sleep and then go see things each day. Here for a week and for us, this is a great park. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

This is just a parking lot with electric and water hook up (they have a dump station). However, you can not get any closer to NY. Just a ferry boat ride {right across from the park} or walk 5 blocks to the subway. TIP - if you stay at one of the RV parks that are about an hour away from NY, you will have to pay each time you get on one of their toll roads, bridge fees or tunnel fees. Add to that the cost of gas to and from that RV park for 4 or 5 days and what you pay to stay in this park is well worth it. Especially if you have a pet dog that you don't want to leave at home all day long. We left the park at noon and came back by 5 many days and our dog was just fine. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.
