Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Since knew we were traveling on 4th of July made reservation on first day they opened. Glad we did. We had stayed here before. We stayed overnight to visit friends and the space provided us a direct shot to leave in AM. Very nice welcoming and presented with good information to make it through town on this holiday. WiFi was good. Spaces flip so side to side however that presented no issues for us though we were closer than we normally prefer. There was some noise from the highway and trains (however we joke that all rv parks have trains). Would stay again as the location is adjacent to highway and road to get into park will take you right through downtown Bozeman. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Motorhome.

Rapid City RV Park and Campground, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight. Park has some awesome views however for us, it ended there. Staff at desk did not appear happy about being there. I was to be escorted to site (which is fairly normal) however I mentioned to guide that I did not want to unhook and was curious if I could fit in..told me he didn't know? He guided me into my tiered site and pushed me to far left though I was trying to get more centered. My RV was in close proximity to a tree on right side (for leaving) and grateful camper in front of me did not park his truck behind his RV or I may not have gotten out. Quiet hours are 9 PM to 8 AM. There is an 8x10 sheet of what you can't do at park as well as further pet instructions on receipt. Personally, if we hadn't met some good folks camping there it would be a total downer for us. Not sure why I picked this park as have stayed elsewhere on previous trips and will not stay here again. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground, Kalispell, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

An older park with what appears to be many return clients, especially families. Nice space for the children to run about though need to be observant when pulling in. Our site was fine, shaded by the two trees I had to back in between to fit in site. Nice room between sites. I have a smaller motorhome however observed that larger trailers/5th wheels definitely needed an active spotter to get in some of the spaces. There are many restaurant, store options in Kalispell as well as repair shops. There is a newer section of town with a large COSTCO and other big box stores. Our focus was Glacier National Park and we were about 25-30 miles from there off good highway which is nearby park. We stayed 5 five days and were able to book tours, etc easily. There are also some shops on the road to Glacier. Observed some other RV park options on way to Glacier, however with all other amenities, etc, would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Rock Springs / Green River KOA, Rock Springs, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We had stayed at this KOA a few years back when we were full timing. Though it was not our intention to stop here this time, the winds of I-80 proved greater so we contacted them and they found us a spot. First must say I could see a marked difference of improvement in this park since our previous stays. Spaces still a little close (which didn't bother me with the high winds) however the laundry room, rest rooms, showers, etc were very clean. Staff was great. My only real dislike is the parking area is gravel/stone. Some sights have fences between them however ours did not and when that 60+ MPH wind came through it kicked up the rock and took out a back quarter panel window on my HHR (tow), started a crack in my RV windshield, and a couple other hits on the RV and car. Would I stay again...yes, however might see about a slot with a fence. Nice surrounding area. We camped at Rock Springs / Green River KOA in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice older park that appears to be trying to keep it up to modern standards. Very welcoming staff. Site was a dirt/gravel pull through which was at end of row looking onto a small lake. Wifi available. The park is deceptive as there are many spaces there. They have a number of back to back sites as well as a few extremely long (friends that double tow) could fit easily. We came in off using garmin which took us on a short tour. Leaving we were guided to turn right and right (loop 11) at light to get to US 287. Would stay again. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park), Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We used as first stop in long trip. Staff was excellent and made us feel welcomed. They have wifi, believe tengo net which was okay. Our site had a short cement pad on it which barely fit our small RV on it. An easy on and off of I-20. Did not use facilities. Plenty of food, etc services in local area. Would stay again. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Alderwood RV Express, Mead, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Overall, a nice park. For price I felt the sites were not very wide. My RV is small and 96"..we barely fit in between the cement lines. Our small slide hit the bushes and to hook up electric, etc I had to maneuver through the bushes. Shower was clean and felt it a bit small however my wife tells me the women's showers were wide. They have a laundry room and indoor pool. Decent location to get to Spokane as well as many eateries in a short distance. Stayed here to be close to the morning's route. Likely would try to use Fairchild's FAM Camp if we came back. We camped at Alderwood RV Express in a Motorhome.

Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground, Burnaby, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We used this park to leave our RV and tow car while we took a cruise ship to Alaska for a week. My end price was $377.15 US for three nights camping and 7 nights storage with electric. Sites are separated by a row of shrubs and each has a table. We have a smaller motorhome however in walking around the park there were many larger RVs. Showers were nice and clean. Laundry was good (uses Canadian 1$ coins which can be gotten at desk). Wi fi was good. There are many shops within 5-7 minute drive as well as a bus that can take you to Vancouver's train system. We took a city tour which picked us up and dropped us off at the park. We felt comfortable leaving RV and tow car (which had a plastic taped window) and would use park again if going to Vancouver. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Cajun RV Park, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed two nights while attending concert in Biloxi. Easy entrance though as noted previously, have to enter on right headed west on US 90 (Beach Blvd). Staff was friendly and although our space was typically a back in, staff provided site where we could pull through to get to our site. Fairly level..sufficient that we did not use blocks. Water pressure seemed pretty strong and my wife tells me the wi-fi was good. No issues with electrical. Fairly quiet though back side connected to entertainment center on US 90. Of course, train horns available :)). Leaving we found best to hook up on road going out - more space. Though did not use their facilities, nice looking pool and a number of washer/driers. You have to turn right to leave onto roadway...first two left potentials are sharp declines with many dug in skid marks where appears RVs have hit bottom. Nice place with friendly staff. We would stay here again. Stayed in our, finally, down sized 25' M/H with tow vehicle. We camped at Cajun RV Park in a Motorhome.

Breezy Acres RV Park, Chiefland, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

When I called made a reservation I was informed that the majority of sites are full time folks and asked if a water/electric site would meet my needs, which it would. This site turned out to be their overflow area in large field. Greeted nicely by staff and guided to site area. Ran into an issue which it appeared that the ants had nested in the electrical outlet box for our site, so because no one else was expected our host suggested we run our electric line to the next site. Even offered an extension cord if we needed (we carry one). Wifi was available however I did not use it. Park is about 7 miles out of Chiefland. Quiet and road noise seemed minimal. We stayed here in a motorhome. Nice overnight spot. We camped at Breezy Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Andrews AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Andrews AFB, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We are retired military. We stayed at this campground many years back when we full timed in our RV as well as had been stationed here previously. The campground is an older one and I believe they have done a good job in keeping up the park considering cash is not likely flowing to them. When I called for reservations, I was not going to be able to get full hookups for the entire week we were there and agreed to take an electric only site (which is close quarters). prior to leaving on our trip, the staff called to say they had a place for us - full hook up for our entire time. They were as friendly in person as on the phone. There was some road noise as a main street is just over the fence line and an occasional take off to get your attention :)) We camped at Andrews AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Picture Lake Campground, Petersburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground south of Richmond. Easy access from I-85. Seemed like a lot of long term workers staying there however that said, the park was well kept. Check in was smooth and we received a very good restaurant referral from the staff. A good overnight spot..worth coming back to again. We camped at Picture Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We are Escapee Club members. However we did note there was a sign for non-members to use the campground. Suggest you contact in advance. We spent 4 nights there in a motorhome. Very long site for not only us in a small RV but the bigger ones next to us. Staff was friendly and informed us on events, etc in the area. We came to see family at the University, so Knoxville was only 10 miles away on I-75 south. Easy access on/off. We wandered about the country side and there is a big lake area near Oak Ridge. Great place where we will come back to. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Lynchburg NW/Blue Ridge Parkway KOA (formerly Wildwood Campground), Monroe, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

A nice campground that I would consider more a destination park rather than one stayed at while traveling. Good hosts and workampers present. Appeared to be an older park with sites mainly scattered through trees. Because we are a smaller Class A, we were put in an angled site between trees which gave us decent space on one side but a little less on our entrance side. leveling was a must for our site and even those we saw on concrete. We used the campground as a base camp to get to Appomattox and surrounding area. A nice feature is that the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance is less than a mile away.
Coming from I-81 South the KOA book had us get off Exit 175 which was fine (Garmin was giving another exit). Going into the town of Glasgow it is an easy drive. After you turn on County 130 the road is a bit hilly and then you see the warning sign for 65' trucks/Rvs. For the next 3.6 miles you are in S curves and switch backs. Taken at appropriate speed it is very doable. We had to come out the same way as in, so the difference was we were climbing vs down hill. We camped at Lynchburg NW/Blue Ridge Parkway KOA (formerly Wildwood Campground) in a Motorhome.

Belden Hill Campground, Harpursville, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground two times in a ten day period. Once on our way to Vermont and on our return trip. One of the reasons we picked this campground is that it was one of the few open near the end of October. On our first stay our site was located in their top section where it is mainly seasonal type RVs/park models. The site we had overlooked the entire area and pond. In our first visit the showers and bathrooms were open. Since we have truly downsized to a smaller RV, it was nice to use their facilities. The only downer for us was the laundry room kept eating our quarters.
Our second stay it was determined a good thing to have a reservation as the top part of the campground was now closed and there were only about 9 sites available...stacked front and back. Facilities available the first time were not the second time and due to the drop in temperature we did not hook up our water, though were able to dump prior to removing hose. owner again was very present and an RVer himself. L
Later that evening there were all sorts of lights outside the front of our RV. A wrecker had a large Class A in tow. the next morning we could see they made room for him to have a spot! Nice!!
It would be a nice campground to come and use all the facilities and visit the area - even the golf course across the street. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.
