When I called made a reservation I was informed that the majority of sites are full time folks and asked if a water/electric site would meet my needs, which it would. This site turned out to be their overflow area in large field. Greeted nicely by staff and guided to site area. Ran into an issue which it appeared that the ants had nested in the electrical outlet box for our site, so because no one else was expected our host suggested we run our electric line to the next site. Even offered an extension cord if we needed (we carry one). Wifi was available however I did not use it. Park is about 7 miles out of Chiefland. Quiet and road noise seemed minimal. We stayed here in a motorhome. Nice overnight spot.

We are retired military. We stayed at this campground many years back when we full timed in our RV as well as had been stationed here previously. The campground is an older one and I believe they have done a good job in keeping up the park considering cash is not likely flowing to them. When I called for reservations, I was not going to be able to get full hookups for the entire week we were there and agreed to take an electric only site (which is close quarters). prior to leaving on our trip, the staff called to say they had a place for us - full hook up for our entire time. They were as friendly in person as on the phone. There was some road noise as a main street is just over the fence line and an occasional take off to get your attention :))

Nice campground south of Richmond. Easy access from I-85. Seemed like a lot of long term workers staying there however that said, the park was well kept. Check in was smooth and we received a very good restaurant referral from the staff. A good overnight spot..worth coming back to again.

We are Escapee Club members. However we did note there was a sign for non-members to use the campground. Suggest you contact in advance. We spent 4 nights there in a motorhome. Very long site for not only us in a small RV but the bigger ones next to us. Staff was friendly and informed us on events, etc in the area. We came to see family at the University, so Knoxville was only 10 miles away on I-75 south. Easy access on/off. We wandered about the country side and there is a big lake area near Oak Ridge. Great place where we will come back to.

A nice campground that I would consider more a destination park rather than one stayed at while traveling. Good hosts and workampers present. Appeared to be an older park with sites mainly scattered through trees. Because we are a smaller Class A, we were put in an angled site between trees which gave us decent space on one side but a little less on our entrance side. leveling was a must for our site and even those we saw on concrete. We used the campground as a base camp to get to Appomattox and surrounding area. A nice feature is that the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance is less than a mile away. Coming from I-81 South the KOA book had us get off Exit 175 which was fine (Garmin was giving another exit). Going into the town of Glasgow it is an easy drive. After you turn on County 130 the road is a bit hilly and then you see the warning sign for 65' trucks/Rvs. For the next 3.6 miles you are in S curves and switch backs. Taken at appropriate speed it is very doable. We had to come out the same way as in, so the difference was we were climbing vs down hill.

We stayed at this campground two times in a ten day period. Once on our way to Vermont and on our return trip. One of the reasons we picked this campground is that it was one of the few open near the end of October. On our first stay our site was located in their top section where it is mainly seasonal type RVs/park models. The site we had overlooked the entire area and pond. In our first visit the showers and bathrooms were open. Since we have truly downsized to a smaller RV, it was nice to use their facilities. The only downer for us was the laundry room kept eating our quarters. Our second stay it was determined a good thing to have a reservation as the top part of the campground was now closed and there were only about 9 sites available...stacked front and back. Facilities available the first time were not the second time and due to the drop in temperature we did not hook up our water, though were able to dump prior to removing hose. owner again was very present and an RVer himself. L Later that evening there were all sorts of lights outside the front of our RV. A wrecker had a large Class A in tow. the next morning we could see they made room for him to have a spot! Nice!! It would be a nice campground to come and use all the facilities and visit the area - even the golf course across the street.

We stayed here to attend a concert in Jacksonville at the Florida Theatre. Though further out then other parks, it was only 17 easy mies to the theatre. We were welcomed by a friendly staff member and when I double checked on directions to he theatre, was given even better ones. We stayed an additional two days to visit the surrounding area/beaches. The town of Callahan i nearby with some nice restaurants. Plan to stay here again when we head on a northerly trip.

Stayed twice in past 10 days. Right off US 98 which makes it easy to get in and out. Both times the staff were helpful both at the office and after being guided to our site. Park is quite large so there appears plenty of sites available. We had a pull through, full hook up both times and though on gravel, they were sufficiently level that we didn't use blocks for levelling. Size of park is also nice if you have a pet to walk or you need the exercise. Plenty of room between spaces and if you desire a picnic table and your site does not have one, just ask the staff. Town has typical services. Would stay here again.

A nice park with easy access off I-10. For the time frame we were traveling, reservations were not required for overnight stays. There were plenty of sites available. We were escorted to our site. We had a pull through and I believe the entire park is pull throughs. Though we were only staying the night we were invited to bingo and ice cream. As we left we also noted a breakfast activity was being set up. The park is spacious with nice roads for those who like to get out and stretch their legs. Although I had trouble with wi fi, this is a nice park, especially to overnight.

This campground was recommended by friends who stayed here for six months. We spent two nights here and found it to be a good park. Sites are of a decent size and long enough for motorhome and towed vehicle. Streets are the widest I have seen in a park which makes maneuvering easy. Staff is friendly and helpful. I had to replace a faucet and needed a tool which I wasn't carrying. I went to the maintenance shed and the gentlemen there gladly assisted me and even offered to come give me a hand. Wi fi worked okay for me and we used the antenna for TV. It's located off a main road which connects in each direction within the city. We payed 31.90 (Good Sam) (Escapee book reflects 15% off however park does not give it during winter time frame.) Besides local tax, there is also a 5% Hotel Tax added which totals to 12.5625% in taxes added to rate.

A decent park especially coming off the road for the night. Staff was very friendly and informative. There is is a small cafe attached to the office with good, hot food. I was parked on the front row and positioned to exit right on the road. The Wi-Fi worked well from our site. There was no cable and unless you had a booster or dish, we could not get any of the three TV stations available from Ft Stockton. That said, it may have been a reason to go to another local campground if we were staying longer but for the evening, the price was right (29 - Good Sam) and TV is not essential for us.

We stayed at the campground for a week prior to Christmas. There were plenty of sites available at that time. Sites are relatively level, only requiring a couple of blocks. There is a check in board at the entrance of the park where you place your money in the locked box and registration card on the back of the board. I had contact with the camp host prior to our arrival checking on availability however never saw him during our stay. The Wi-Fi was down when we got there and it took about four days before we got it back up. There is no cable and no TV signal. There was a Direct TV in the lounge however that was down as well throughout our stay. BX, commissary, and service station were open except for Christmas. Most other base functions to include the club were down. A decent place to stay.

A nice campground with good space between sites. Sites and road are gravel. Site was level. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi is available. A nice park to be able to walk around and stretch your legs. Our rate was based on a Good Sam discount.

This is an excellent campground however be prepared to pay for the amenities and location that it offers. We selected this based on miles and location as we were traveling north. The staff was excellent and helpful. They provided great information for the area. The rate reflected is based on an Escapee discount.

Nice park on US 281 North out of San Antonio. RV park is a mixture of long term/permanent folks in mobiles, park models, and RVs. We were placed near the front but really didn't hear road noise from the busy road. Wi-fi was available and worked well. There are some activities. Enjoyed our three days here and plan to return. Rate shown was daily for Good Sam.
