Perfect setting. Immaculate sites and bathrooms. We were in a site next to the lake. Very pretty and quiet. All the sites were very spacious. However, a larger rig might have trouble getting around some of the turns. Hiking paths were very nice. We will return.

This campground straddled a dirt road. We were in the very first campsite as you drive into the area and were satisfied with our site. It was fairly private. It was narrow. We were not able to set up our canopy but that didn't prevent us from enjoying our experience here. We were right on the stream and could hear the water rushing. Other sites were very cramped and close to the road. If we had been in the next few sites in the campground we would've been very disappointed in our experience. There were some sites that were in a circle that appeared to be a bit larger and were accommodating larger rigs. The bathrooms were fine. The pool area looked well-kept but was closed for the season. The manager/owner was very nice. I would recommend asking for site #1 if you are in a tent or popup. If you are in a larger rig you should call to make sure you can get in and out of the campground. If you are looking at the sites that are along the road be prepared to be very close to the traffic. I'm guessing that some tents were less than ten feet from the road.

This is a fairly new park in the Boone area. The sites are very roomy. Lots of space between them. The bathhouse was very clean and well-maintained. There was a laundry facility and outside sink for cleaning dishes. The tent sites were very isolated. The owner will assist with hauling your gear to the remote sites. Lots of trails to explore. Stocked trout pond. No water at RV sites but, this was not a big issue for us. The owner delivered our firewood to our site. Very nice guy! We are planning to stay here again when we come to this area. The road into the campground from the main road was tight in places but still manageable. Stargazers will be in heaven here.

In theory, this should've been a very pleasant experience. I believe if we had visited in the off-season we would've had a great time. However, we went with friends on Memorial Day weekend and were very disappointed. The campsites are ridiculously close together and over crowded. We witnessed many sites with three tents pitched in very close proximity. The bath house was a mess almost the entire time we were ,and it was woefully inadequate for the volume of campers using it. It was fairly obvious on our third day here that people were not happy with the situation and were packing up to leave early. I determined this by the number of folks that were leaving late in the day, rather than experiencing another night of cramped, noisy, camping with sanitary facilities that may have been failing at any moment. I really wanted to like this adventure, but I just can't get past the generally poor execution of the camping facilities. Half as many sites with at least two more bath houses would be the minimum needed to make this camp site workable. I know my review is scathing, but it's the truth, and I didn't even include the issues with the dumpster overflowing.

Very nice area. The Piggly-Wiggly grocery store was within walking distance of our site. Lots of hiking/biking trails to enjoy. Our favorite part was that the beach on the city side of the pier was dog friendly (in the off-season). So, our little corgi dog could run free. Looking forward to returning in the early spring.

We went to this park in the off-season and was pleasantly surprised to find it mostly empty. The lake level was a bit low. The sites were perfect. Very quiet at this time of the year. Not too far from the mountains of SC.

Very nice park. Lots for kids to do. Pool was well-maintained. Platform camping was very nice (previously camped here in a tent).
