About Claymb

My wife and border collie have been rv'ing for fifty plus years. Border collie not! Our favorite travels to date have been the Allegheny mountains around Lake George, NH, Stowe Vermont. Playing golf at Pipestem in WV was great! We make our S/b home at Willow Lakes RV & golf resort located on the east cost of FL/Cape Canaveral.

Mountain View Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I don't write many reviews but use RV Park reviews for a lot of my choice's in prospective parks-camp grounds and RV resorts. This CG is small, rustic, peaceful, well maintained and rates in the top 1% of all the spots we have traveled! Our hosts and owners purchased this CG one year ago and the progress is amazing. Undoubtably, the most gracious owners and best time my wife, puppy and I have experienced to date. The overall friendly atmosphere is passed among every guest that we talked with. Magnificent views of the mountains, easy shopping and attractions close by. Wifi, lightning fast, movie night, and Sunday morning breakfast provided to all guest under the " veranda" music hall. I honestly am reluctant to post this and let this diamond in the rough become exposed to fellow RV friends. We loved MV and booked for two months next summer. It's the best experience " glamping" in a camp ground vs. high priced resort's .....ever! We camped at Mountain View Campground in a Motorhome.

The Barnyard RV Park, Lexington, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight, then had a steer tire blowout 45 miles north on I 26. The staff made room for us to spend the next four days handling insurance issues. The pads are sand and grass; it had small slab with table. Sites are level. Full hookup pull-throughs and back ins. Restaurants and grocery nearby. There were many regular workers coming and going with a large flea market out front. All the locals were very friendly and I can't say enough about the staff and owners, they are super. Great overnight easy in and out. Call ahead in season as it's a busy crossroads. We camped at The Barnyard RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown near the USC campus is artsy with nice restaurants and bars. Shopping and grocery close by with Walmart. Not a destination best for overnight or couple of days to rest and stock up.

Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The resort is mostly snowbirds hence our May visit. There are over 1000 sites, three club houses with pools. The transient area is located close to the main clubhouse hot tub and pool. Pool is huge! Our site was back in and grassy. No patio and very little shade if any. No free WiFi except at the office area but you can purchase reasonable daily and weekly rates for even streaming video. Bring pads for your jacks as its sandy. Great area to walk your pet or pets. Garbage has to be transported by you to very front of the property. Easy to do but you'll need a car or mobile device it's not walking distance. We mainly came in the off season to play golf and avoid the crowds. The 18 hole course is immaculate and very challenging but not too bad for the average hacker as its fairly short. Water pressure good, sewer good, I would definitely recommend a surge protection system like Progressive industries as the voltage is marginal at least in our area. We camped at Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We very much recommend this park to anyone. Large easy entrance even for big rigs, wonderful paved roads, large sites, plenty of room between your neighbors. Extremely level concrete pads with ex/large concrete awning area. We did not have a pic nic table at our site upon arrival, note they are making new ones, within minutes the park managers arrived and placed the table exactly where we wanted it. Nice pool area and club house. Huge clubhouse, short drive into the cay. The only reason this RV resort does no get a ten, pool not heated and we were here in January. Cedar Key is very quaint and enjoyable. If you like room, good management, quiet times and pet friendly atmosphere this is your spot. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Emerald Beach RV Park, Navarre, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park right off Hwy 98. The turn in is difficult heading west as you must cross over two east bound lanes. Be careful! Very friendly staff with extremely well maintained sites. The sites are good level concrete pads with large grassy areas for toad parking. Very nice pool, not heated, terrific fishing pier with sandy beach on Santa Rosa Sound. Pull thru sites as well as back in. Big rig friendly as well as pet friendly. Note dogs are not allowed on the small sound side beach. The only reason for the 8 is the pool is not heated. BTW, grocery stores within in two blocks. We camped at Emerald Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.
