Northumberland Provincial Park, Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a few minutes drive to the Ferry from Prince Edward Island to Nova Scotia. It is on the ocean and has shady and sunny sites. Very pleasant and reasonably priced. The sites are very large with lots of room for the biggest mh or trailer. We will return again, and regularly. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Robert E. Baird Memorial Park, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Park is on the Saint John River which would accommodate boat owners and fishermen. Site are fairly level with Elect and water. A dump station is located at the entrance. Park was difficult to get to as it is on the opposite side of the river from the highway and the bridge was undergoing construction work. Owner is accommodating and friendly. Park is still being rebuilt after flood damages several years ago. NO wifi at sites. Plenty of room and there is a restaurant on site with good food. Price is a bit high. We'll go back again. We camped at Robert E. Baird Memorial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The US Border is not too far away and Presque Isle is a decent spot for groceries. Amish community near Presque Isle offers fresh vegetables.
With present exchange rate of $1.33 there are no other bargains in US.

Harbour Light Campground, Pictou, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We generally visit in the off season and always receive a water view site. Great birding campground including Eagles, osprey, ducks, geese, herons and shorebirds. Sites are level and owner ensures all guests are satisfied. He also helps with any issues even with rv's. The owner has a fantastic memory and knows all his guests well. When we called for a site he told us the site we had 2 years prior was open so set up and "I'll see you later". We had a visitor who he had met 18 years prior and he remembered the name. In my view there is no finer operator in Canada or US and we have visited approx. 81 parks in last 5 months and approx. 300 in past 3 years. Good book exchange, laundry and firewood was free. Good wifi. We camped at Harbour Light Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Park is well located near beaches and Town of Hubbards. Unfortunately, it Does not have water views from sites. Apparently, there is beach access but we did not use. Great gift store and there are lobster dinners and entertainment adjacent to the park. Very quiet and good for a rest.
Owner is excellent, efficient and very helpful. We'll be back. We camped at Hubbards Beach Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Wayside Campground, Glen Margaret, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week because of the views, the friendly staff and proximity to Halifax where friends and relatives live. We stayed here a week in 2013 also. We were located across the road from the ocean which was quite nice. Site was large and level and price was right due to Passport America membership. Great laundry at $2.00. Good book exchange also. We'll visit again. We camped at Wayside Campground in a Motorhome.

Coy Lake Campground , Upper Queensbury, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The campground offered quite a few vacant sites because it was after the regular season. The owner and another camper were very accommodating and friendly. We stayed an extra day for that reason. It rained quite heavily and the power was off throughout the area for a few hours. The owner came to ensure all was good with us. She also came to say goodbye when we were leaving. That happens at very few campgrounds and this owner could teach many owners how to accommodate guests. We camped at Coy Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Anicinabe RV Park & Campground, Kenora, Ontario

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $44.00

We had a site overlooking Lake of the Woods. Lots of boats. some fishing, wildlife including 5 deer which visited sites daily. This is probably the best campsite we have had in last 3 years. We stayed a few extra days just to spend time visiting Kenora and resting. We camped at Anicinabe RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Not an attractive park, small and difficult to navigate when a few rigs present. Owner is very friendly and helpful and will do whatever it takes to accommodate. Washrooms need upgrading. Excellent location in a truly beautiful town with nice cafes and crafts. A 5 minute drive to historical Cupids. Yes, we will stay again. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

A decent park located on height of land with excellent ocean views. Staff are friendly and park is clean. Park has cabins and conference facilities and washrooms are located there. Small laundry facility. I highly recommend this park for scenery, bird watching and near very good boat tour companies. I will be returning whenever I visit St. John's.
