Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park), Central Point, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Wow! The people who designed this park planned it well. It is only one year old, and those who maintain it deserve accolades. What more could we want???? Great smooth roads, lovely plantings, comfortable spacing between rigs, long pull-throughs so you don't have to disconnect, well-functioning everything, hospitable hosts, easy access, clean as a Clorox commercial, reasonable pricing, and quiet--you have it all here. The hosts gave us great suggestions and made our time here more enjoyable. If you want to reserve a space, there is a $10 per night fee. The reservationist said it isn't that busy, so she suggested we just drive right in. You can call the actual campground at 541-423-8115 and ask how full they are. Reservations are made at the county offices. You are only about 5 minutes from Medford. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The host suggested Shari's for breakfast, and it was fantastic. We took the Harry & David tour ($5), and it was really interesting. We were here September 9-12, and we hit 100° today. We were busy, and I didn't look for a pool, so if you want to swim, you need to call and ask.

Blue Heron RV Park, Hornbrook, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The park is about 4 miles from I-5 on a windy, narrow asphalt road, but well worth it. A deer ran across it right in front of us. The manager was nice, and they show pride of ownership. It's right on the Klamath River, and we are looking forward to seeing the blue herons tomorrow. I jumped out of my chair when a LOUD sound came from over my shoulder. I looked out my window and there were 2 horses that were snorting! We camped in a 38 foot motorhome with Jeep and loved it! We camped at Blue Heron RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is off the beaten path. Bring your own food (no restaurants), but you can find everything when you go back to the I-5. Relax and enjoy the river flowing right by your site.

Kit Fox RV Park, Patterson, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We came in at 9:00 PM due to a repair problem. I called the manager and he told us to just go to Space 104. We could come in whenever. Everything was perfect--map at office, lovely campsite, great hookups, open sky for Internet, and well-maintained. There is a nice playground. We will stay again in our 38' motorhome, towing a Jeep. My husband loved our pull-thru space. We camped at Kit Fox RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

My husband walked to the A & W/KFC combined store. There were several other restaurants available. But best of all was an ad in their flyer, showing that the Truck Stop at Exit 441 off the I-5 had the cheapest diesel prices in Northern California. We filled there, and noticed that all of the other stations for 360 miles were at least 23 cents a gallon higher.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas

On a scale of 1-10, this park is an 11. Level, concrete pads, spaciously spaced with a nice strip of grass. Fabulous WIFI. Wonderful hosts with lots of tips. Super roads. We planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 4 nights. Camped here in 38' motorhome (toad fits front & back of pull-through). We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fabulous BBQ restaurant (Lonnie's) is right on their driveway. Sparkling clean and open from 11-1, Mon. thru Fri. and 5:30-7:30 Friday night. Closed weekends. It's the best we've ever had, and we have eaten BBQ in all the top spots. Only a few minutes from the Capitol and State Museum, both of which are very good.

St. Louis RV Park, St. Louis, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large blacktop parking lot across from the police station. The hosts were great! They have long office hours and provided help in getting into our spot. The spots do require jacks or leveling blocks. All hookups were excellent. The price of $43 for a blacktop lot was excessive, but everything is well-maintained. Lots of long-term; the owner says they have a lot of heart transplant patients and others getting medical care. It was close to attractions. Our 38' motorhome was given a pull-through. This is an old park, and Van gives you a space and the one next to it for your car. Otherwise, it would be really scrunchy. He gave us an EXCELLENT map of the city with attractions' locations noted. We stayed 2 nights and would stay here again. We camped at St. Louis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips: Entrance is off 23rd St. Pappy's BBQ, a couple of minutes away, has received raves from BBQ raters, and I loved my ribs and coleslaw. They have security in the parking lot. We came at 11:00 on a Sunday and had no wait. The supermarkets we found nearby were weird--they had no bananas. Pick up your produce before you come in.

Ross Hill Park Family Campground, Lisbon, Connecticut

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 4 nights. Sewer location was very awkward--so much so that we ended up using the dump station. Electricity and water location was at the extreme back right corner of the coach. The pad and roads were dirt. Roads were very narrow, bumpy, meandered, and were not lit at night. Streets within the park were not marked with names. I almost drove into the river trying to exit at night. The spaces were quite large. Our car space was so sloped that I couldn't get in on the passenger side. It was heavily forested, so we had no satellite reception, but we did have phone. Hosts were very nice and provided us with good information when asked. They have pre-printed directions to attractions. It was very scenic. We camped at Ross Hill Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Augusta / Gardiner KOA, Richmond, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Weather was cold and rainy, so we didn't use pool. Electric, water, sewer worked well, generous space size, and the Wifi was OUTSTANDING and free! Usually, Wifi at most parks is minimal, but this was perfect. On that alone, I'd give it a 9, but the roads are as bad as the Wifi is good. Lots of big ruts and potholes, which they didn't fill in today, which was a sunny day. The hosts were nice and provided a good map to our site, a cloth KOA bag, and literature. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Regal Augusta 10 is a lovely theatre with reclining seats. Call the Capitol early. In October, they only offer tours at 8, 9, 10, 11,12, and most are booked with 4th grade field trips. The kids were well-behaved, but if you want an adult tour, call and check the schedule. Seafood stew at Red Barn is great!

Timberland Acres RV Park, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the wide-open meadow area with great satellite and cellphone reception. Forested areas are available. Good roads. Gravel, level, long pad. All the amenities, but we didn't use them because it was cold. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating. They are about ? the cost of staying in Bar Harbor, and it's only 10-15 minutes of pretty driving away. We would definitely stay here again in our 38' motorhome with towed Jeep. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Eat at Union River Lobster Pot, about 10 min. away. Beautiful scenery, and the best lobster dinner I've had in our week of eating exclusively lobster. Lulu's lobster boat trip was a 10! We saw a lot and learned a lot. The Acadia NP Abbe Museum (next to the Gardens) is great--talk with the ticket taker, a well-educated anthropologist who knows everything.

Limehurst Lake Campground, Williamstown, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Great scenic park on a lake with ducks and forest. Our site was in the open, at our request, and satellite and cellphone friendly. We had full hookups, all of which worked well. This park is well maintained by the hard-working owner. It has gravel roads and crushed granite pads. The pad was close enough to level that we didn't put down jacks, though Rick was ready to help us do so. We were escorted to the site. A sign at the fork showed NO ENTRY and the other part was a downhill, so we stopped and looked things over. Rick came up to wave us in. We would definitely return. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We had a level gravel site in the trees. They only have 2 satellite-friendly sites. They have cable at sites and WIFI by office, but we used neither. Sites are water and electric (50 amps) only. They will pump you out on Tuesdays and Fridays for $6 and they have a dump station. The best part was the friendly hosts. They gave us a great Italian restaurant (Johnny's), pizza stop, and they got us out of a big jam at 10:00 PM. our key broke off in our lock, and we asked them for pliers. The host came to our site with his tools and extricated the key so we could use our spare. We camped here in a 38 foot motor home and would go out of our way to camp here again. Very quiet. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Outstanding Indian tacos in Badlands NP Made by real Sioux Indians from grandma's recipe. Their fry bread base is delicious. I've eaten Indian tacos about 50 times, and these are #1. Also, try the SDstate dessert, Kuchin.

You're in a big city in an older, well-maintained park. The advertised 70 foot length isn't possible, as it barely fit our Jeep Liberty and 38 foot motor home. We got in at one AM, and security escorted us to our paved pad. Everything worked well. We would stay here again and have many times before. It was only a one night stay,so we didn't use anything, but WiFi worked well in past. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

We called ahead and she was waiting to escort us to our site. Nice lady, good hookups, some fuzz on cable TV (could be us because we usually do Direct TV ). We were able to keep our toad attached for quick departure the next day. Very clean, level, with concrete patio. Nicely spaced. We will stay here again on our way back home. Overall Rating:

We stayed here 6 nights. The awesome WIFI is the best we've had since May--strong and reliable. Everything works well. Nice, hard-working, security-oriented managers. They give you a good brochure with a map of where everything is. Pretty colorful flower plantings around office. Nice, wide, pull-thru spaces, and they have 50 amps! We really could have left 2-3 days earlier, but it's such a nice park that we stayed. We will definitely return. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.
