Took two granddaughters for a 2-night trip. Park is really tired, dirty, not well maintained and activities are very pricey. Several water features were not operating due to maintenance issues. Public restrooms and showers were really trashy. Like another reviewer complained, there are a lot of "day users" who don't care about cleanliness of facilities. Lots of adult beverages consumed and offensive language by day users ( who wear different color wrist band). I would dread staying more than a night or two. Staff is not overly friendly, half of which were students sloughing off, and the other half retirees. Drainage water everywhere with stagnant scum. All water features were cloudy and full of pine needles. We will not return because there are far better camps with nice amenities for the same or less money.

Beautiful park. True RV Resort in every sense of the word. Pristine sites, tasteful amenities, courteous staff. An absolute delight. Stayed there 5 nights, including July 4th. They provided a parade and 40 minute fireworks display that was breathtaking. Lots of activities for young and old. Weather in TX Hill Country is cool mornings and evenings. Afternoon heat not too bad since humidity is low. Nice location for taking day trips to other Hill Country towns. Magnificent scenery! We plan to visit Buckhorn frequently.

The Preserve is a 2000 acre facility along the Trinity River in Liberty Co., approx. 16 miles from Cleveland, TX. It has two pools, equestrian facilities, cabins, and an abundance of wildlife. This was an existing park and was recently purchased and being converted into a first-class RV resort. We were guests in the section being developed for big rigs where investors will purchase beautifully appointed lots with amenities for either their personal use or put into a rental pool. The campground is under construction but has wonderful paver stone pads in the big rig section and level concrete in other sections. The roads are not paved but are topped with crushed concrete, limiting dust. Maintenance throughout all sections of the 2000 acre grounds is impeccable. We look forward to returning for a longer resort-style experience as their progress continues. In the meantime, the management staff was very gracious and extremely professional. The only reason we rated this an 8 instead of a 10 was because it is still under construction.

We are not SKP members and would not join if all parks were like this one. It is very tired and needs updating. Some lots are owned with frame cottages that need paint and cleaned up. Know there are many full-timers here but many of the rigs we saw were older and the park is just not well kept. Big dogs were left unattended in rig next to us and we could not even enjoy sitting outside because of the barking. We were only there one night so not worth moving to another site. No TV reception unless satellite. We walked the entire park and saw trash and debris that needed to be cleared. People were friendly, but that was the only redeeming factor. Would probably stay there again.

Stayed here one night on return to Texas. While it served our purpose, it is a little tired. The sites are grassy and were wet and muddy in some areas, tracking into RV. Biggest complaint was the road noise from I-10. Because the park is surrounded by trees, we did not realize it's right on the interstate. Probably would choose a different campground next time.

Picked up our new motorhome in Sanford and spent first night at Ocala Sun. The office was closed when we called but they returned our call immediately and gave us precise directions. They were wonderful and very personable when we checked out next day. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is a very nice park -- clean, we'll appointed, friendly with plenty of social amenities. We loved it, and as our first night as RVers, we will always have a fond memory of Ocala Sun.
