Williamsburg Pottery Campground, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

If at all possible, just avoid this place. The VA State WIT camping club had to change the August meeting location due to a conflict and this was all they could find in the area at the last minute, that could accommodate 30 coaches. The bathrooms and showers were filthy, the office staff had no idea what they were doing, the sewers were stopped up, the playground consisted of one old rusty slide, the covered meeting areas are rotting and falling down. $28 rate was negotiated by the club president and it wasn't worth that. We camped at Williamsburg Pottery Campground in a Motorhome.

Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park, Reidsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We love everything about this park. Peace, quiet, clean, well kept. Current camp host (she was here last year also) is a little nuts, but the managing ranger set her straight. This is our second year spending a week in October here and we plan to return next year. We camped at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park in a Motorhome.

Park not well cared for. Litter all around. Large ruts in roads. NO level sites. Unless it's an emergency we will never stay here again. We camped at Zooland Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Florence RV Park (formerly Florence KOA), Florence, South Carolina

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

They had been through an ice storm just prior to our arrival. That said - they need to get some gravel on the roads and sites and hire some staff. Loud (drunken) arguing right in front of office was not stopped. A lot of full timers with a lot of junk around sites. Would overnight here again only if we had too. We camped at Florence RV Park (formerly Florence KOA) in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Large spacious sites. Very clean. Great staff. Good WiFi. February is 'one half off' month and that is why we paid $20. Hunt Brothers pizza is delicious. We camped at North River Campground in a Motorhome.

Misty Mountain Camp Resort, Crozet, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here as often as we can. Fully staffed. Well kept. Picnic tables are all new this year. Laundry has 4 washers and 4 dryers, 2 of which were out of order, which is why I gave it a 9 instead of a 10. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Huntington / Fox Fire KOA, Milton, West Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

A lovely, fully staffed park. Staff are knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. Great old shade trees. Nice clean laundry. Nice store with reasonable prices. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. If at all possible approach this park from the west. From the east the entry road is quite sharp and narrow. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

Myrtle Beach KOA, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice place. Plenty of trees. Drains well after a rain storm. Sites are level gravel. All sites have picnic table. Full timer's area well separated from campers. Very friendly staff. One issue: At one end of the camper area there are cabins, with fences and large trees, right at the road. This made turning at the end of the rows very difficult. I saw two fifth-wheels have to do a lot of up and back just to make a 90 degree turn. We will stay here again. We camped at Myrtle Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

George L. Smith State Park, Twin City, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights to rest up. It's not fancy, but was peaceful and quiet. The one dryer was broken. The bathrooms and showers were buggy and covered in pollen. I don't see how they could have been any other way as this is the middle of the woods in the spring. Regardless, we love this campground, have stayed here before and will stay again. We camped at George L. Smith State Park in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay overnight. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Concrete sites, grass, some small trees. Very clean. We had been driving in rain storms all day and had wet towels and clothes from walking and drying pups. The laundry is small, but nice and I did two loads of clothes. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.
