Baird Motor Inn & RV Campground, Baird, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Chose Baird MI & CG based on location convenient to friends & family we wanted to visit while in the area. Location is behind the somewhat run down motel. Park is dirt/gravel sites reasonably level. At check in, Mgr gave me list of sites that had power. Chose #24 away from houses behind park to avoid barking dogs. We also had to trim a few branches to keep them off motorhome, but not much thanks to previous campers. Location was reasonably quiet, trains nearby but did not create disturbance for us. A few other campers come and go. One long term tenant in old 5th wheel we kind of kept an eye on, but no issues. Location convenient off and on to I20. Big Loves Fuel stop nearby as well as DQ and a few other restaurants. Overall not bad, but not sure we would stay here again. Other nicer parks nearby, but likely not at this value. We parked in 43' motorhome. We camped at Baird Motor Inn & RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at Dakota Ridge for a week which included the Labor Day Weekend. The rates go up by $10 per day for Labor Day which I have never approved of. It bothers me that someone charges more, "Just because we can". The park is laid out well and are reasonably level. Blacktop roads and concrete pads are nice and dirt/grass between spaces. Site was barely long enough for 45' MH and tow. Sites are mostly opposing pull through so you share a patio (grass/dirt) with your neighbor which worked out for us as our neighbors were quite enjoyable. Space between coaches on utility sides is sort of tight. There is about 8 to 10 feet between our slides which is acceptable, but does not do much to enhance any view. Park is well maintained, pool, hot tub, which we did not use. Convenient access to I-70 and local shopping. However price seemed high (including Labor Day Surcharge). We would stay here again, but would probably look around more before we booked. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Mt. Princeton with FMCA group. We received the standard Good Sam / FMCA 10% discount. Our group loved the park. Sites are pretty much level, wide enough to get a 45' diesel into it with ample parking for the towed vehicle. Each space has a small grass area adjacent to it. Small to medium trees so no satellite interference. Great view of the mountains from the park. Our group utilized the new pavilion as our gathering area and it was wonderful. We had 2 group dinners there and it worked great. The owners are on site and were absolutely responsive to any request. We plan to return regularly. Just far enough of the main road that road noise was never a problem. Good grocery and other shopping nearby. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grocery store about 2 miles away. Plenty of good restaurants and some fast food available. Fuel, Hardware etc., close by. Buena Vista has a quaint downtown area located off highway. Interesting little down with good access to the Fourteener's.

Pueblo KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at KOA for 4 nights. Interior roads are gravel as are the spaces. We got a heavy rain during our stay and roads handled it well. There were a few mud puddles here and there, but not in the interior roads. Mix of occupants between long term and travelers. This KOA is definitely "Kid Friendly". There was a nice playground that was well used by well behaved camp kids as well as a jump station. The noise from these areas did not disturb us. Close to I25 and railroad tracks but again noise not a problem. For those exiting on I25NORTH, you have to go under a 13'9" one lane tunnel to get to this KOA, so KNOW THE HEIGHT OF YOUR RIG!!! Overall an average KOA. Bagged trash picked up at your site daily. We camped at Pueblo KOA in a Motorhome.

Comanche Campground, Stinnett, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Passport America Rate is $15 and you can stay for 3 days. Park roads are caliche surface and hard packed. Most sites are pull-through and face north so you have evening shade. Concrete patios are good for center door 5th wheels and gas rigs, but placed completely wrong for big rigs, but no big deal. Sites are level. Park occupants are mostly pull trailers of local workers. No road noise as State Hwy 152 is not a busy road. There was some noise early of workers leaving park, but we're early risers and did not bother us. Small market in town behind courthouse for necessary groceries. Borger is 11 miles away and has WalMart and United Supermarket stores as well as other shopping. We camped at Comanche Campground in a Motorhome.

Scallywags RV Park, Sunrise Beach, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

One lady runs the park. When you call you will leave her a message. It will take several hours for her to return your call, so make your plans EARLY.

Park roads are gravel/caliche. There are 3 pull thru's and the balance are back in. Mostly trailers at this park, a few small motorhomes. We parked in 43' Diesel and had a difficult time getting in, but finally managed. It rained while we're here and there are several mud puddles around that may create a problem when we leave. It will certainly muddy up the RV which I try to keep clean. Good elevation to the park so other than the mud puddles, the rain went on down to the lake.

Park is close to Captain Ron's' a local hangout/bar, located at MM 34.5 if you're familiar with Lake of the Ozarks. Very nice grocery store (Wood's) just a few miles on up Highway 5. Conveniently located to other entertainment and dining. We camped at Scallywags RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sunshine RV Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We camped 3 nights at Sunshine. We were in pull through section. Mowed grass with some rock in parking area. Water/Electric/Sewer hook ups. It's a no frills park, but exactly what we like to find. We use our own shower / rest rooms in our RV, so we don't care about bath houses. We bring our own fun, so we don't care for amenities etc. The owner is very present and is MOST accommodating. Plenty of room for pull through hauling a trailer. Quiet park, on approach to airport but has minimal air traffic. Fire station a ways off, we heard sirens occasionally, but not disturbing. Would stay here again, and would recommend to others. We thought the $40 cash rate was a bit high, but not out of reason. Good grocery stores nearby and easy access to downtown Savannah. We camped at Sunshine RV Park in a Motorhome.
