We used this campground as a stopover for our trip, both coming and going. For the first night, which was a Sunday, we used our PA and got a $20.00 rate (great bargain). On the return leg, we stayed over on a Saturday and paid the normal rate of $44, which I thought was reasonable. The first night we stayed in a site in the lower section. On the return leg, we were in a higher elevation site which I did not like. The interior roads are gravel and you've got some incline on the higher elevation sites. Our dually was spinning gravel trying to get to the site. Both sites were plenty large enough and there is adequate spacing between the sites. Did not see any snakes (plenty of chipmunks though). Did see what appeared to be poison ivy at the one site so keep a look out for that. Speaking of foliage, the trees around the sites could use some trimming. Did not use any facilities, but the pool looked nice from the road. Oh, and you do not have to exit through the arch.

We had a lovely time at Mama Gertie's. I don't understand how anyone can rate this campground negatively. Yes, it's terrain is steep. It is on a mountain, though, and if you go for the mountain view sites (highly recommended), you might bite your nails a little on the escorted way up and way down. But a site on the top is simply breathtaking and worth it. As I did not use any facilities, I cannot comment about those. Also, I do not think this is a park geared towards family activities. What you get is a well-maintained CG in a quiet, beautiful setting. Camp hosts were very helpful and pleasant. We were so pleased we booked a return trip already.

Echo the sentiments of the other favorable reviews on this campground. Very friendly owners who escorted us to the site and made sure everything was in order. Pretty setting. Very close to the racetrack. If we stop here again, and I hope we do, we'll have to allow for some extra time to wander over to the track. Rate was based on PA.

Very nice campground, with pretty setting, and nice hosts. Big rig friendly and easy access from I-81, with truck stops handy at the exit. Would absolutely stay again. Rate reflects Passport discount.

This park has many "pro's" such as cleanliness, the proximity to Hershey Park and the shuttle to and from, and the pretty park-like setting. The sites are close to one another, but the hook-ups, fire pit, and picnic table were all in good shape. As for the cons, as mentioned in other posts, the Wi-Fi is iffy. The biggest concern is the configuration of the sites, at least for the pull-throughs where we were. This is not what I would consider big-rig friendly. Depending upon your exact site, a big-rig is doable, but not for a novice and not without guidance from a spotter or two, even for the more experienced driver. Lots of trees and tight corners makes entry and exit tricky. It does not help matters that campers were parking their tow vehicles at their sites, where space is extremely limited, rather than in overflow areas.

Very clean and well-maintained campground. We were greeted as we pulled into the campground and had an escort to our site. There appears to be a good deal of staff available. Sites are close together, but that didn't pose any problem. There was a mix of retirees and families with young children. Even though the park was full children playing and lots of people walking about, it still was quiet and peaceful. This is a slightly wooded campground with level sites. The sites are at least partially paved, only a few pull-thrus. Other sites appear easy to back into with ample green space and extra parking. Each site has its own picnic bench, all seem to be in good condition. There is a well-stocked store, pool, and game room. Looks like there is a bike rental as well. The only complaint was the poor cable reception. We will definitely return. Price reflects a Good Sam discount.

Excellent park! Very clean, friendly. Lots of quality amenities. Beautiful grounds with open spaces and wooded areas surrounding a steam and pond. The roads are graveled, as are the sites, at least in the newer section. Sites were not particularly level, but we had no problem. There is also adequate spacing between sites. We're novices and had no difficulty maneuvering around with our big rig. In addition to all that the campground has to offer, Bedford itself is a charming town. We were so pleased, we already reserved a spot for a return trip.

I agree - this is a very nice campground and the hosts were pleasant and helpful. We were first-timers and found access in and out of the park to be pretty easy. The grounds are well-patrolled and very clean. There appear to be some residentials, but this wasn't a drawback. Overall, a very positive experience for us.
