It is obvious this park was very old BUT very well kept ( and really well laid out when new!). Pride in hosts and owners shown thru. A bit tricky maneuvering but would fit any rig. Most would say odd layout and if this were new park I would agree, as it is older I say well used land area. Great firewood and campfire available. Use of items like fishing poles, horse shoes, etc were free and easy. Laundry only had two machines, but at least there was one! Easy access to river. Great hidden gem.....GREAT place for the Humboldt Redwood Forest.

Date of Stay:

Never saw the hosts, came thru on NASCAR weekend so the entire area was booked solid, but this one was great EXCEPT....Do NOT go there from SF via GPS!!! IF it takes you through calistoga road! There were SEVERAL 11-12% grades up and down..... At the end, facing back the sign said trucks over 25' not recommended ( we were in 37' w mini van toad!). Worse than the trip THROUGH San Francisco and OVER the GG BRIDGE in midday......but back to the park. Nice basic fairgrounds park. Had 50 amp, water, no sewer ....someone said one was nearby, didn't need it. Gas close by if needed, quiet setting, big older trees. Fairly close, but not terrible. The trip back to the highway was MUCH less harrowing experience.

VERY steep entry into park. Tight turn onto park road, tight turns and steep hills within park. That said, obviously an older park but very well kept and nice friendly staff. We were in 135, probably best site for getting in and out of, others were fairly tight, but all were doable with patience. Sites were pretty close together, but weather was exquisite, especially after three days through the desert! Great central location to see the sights.

Very well laid out, pretty new looking park. Easy internal access, but REALLY tucked put of the way. Easy to get to. Great customer service. Nice store. Sites were very easy to get in and out of (watch the "curb" as you enter or leave the site though). Close to everything, but still pretty quiet. Definitely stay again.

Very basic campground, would definitely stay here again...but it was hotter than...well HOT. (I measured 156 degree ground temps.) Nice basic KOA campground and we were tired so it worked fine, as long as our AC did. That would have sucked.

Date of Stay:

Good basic KOA, tucked a bit out of the way, but nice. Had a good (dirt) dog walking area. Pull-through sites were a bit tight and not quite long enough for many rigs, but everybody made due. If you have whiners, may be a problem.. Great customer service and cool place to visit.

Very basic military park. Pretty much an open area, but sites are marked off. Stayed in the "new" side, no openings in old side much better shade. Overall good. Entered through Wyoming gate , but it is closed on weekends so note that. ( hassle to turn around and leave thru other gate). Lots of stickers and not too good of areas for dog walking, but normal for the area.

Older park, but in pretty good condition. Easy access from highways. Very basic park, but great for a night. Close to freeway, but not noisy. Pet owners, be careful of stickers and foxtails. Not their fault, goes with the land area. Also be careful and expect high winds all the time...wind farms are there for a reason!

Nice park RIGHT off the highway. Easy access, but can be a bit noisy with truck stop across the street. Nice place for a night or two. Lots of permanent residents, but not at all untidy or a problem. Very friendly staff and easy access to sites. We were in an end one and didn't need to unhook with 37' pulling mini van. Had a heck of a windstorm, but look around at the wind farms and kind of expected. I pulled in slides worried about slide toppers and glad I did. Lots of dog walking area, nice friendly residents. Caution to pet owners, it is the home of the world's largest rattlesnake round up, so be cautious. Would definitely stay again, especially compared to the next closest one I pulled into and right back out of.

Date of Stay:

Nice clean park, VERY EASY in and out of our site (C01). Easily able to keep van hooked up with 37'. Great pet and walking area, very well kept. Loved the rooster alarm clock....

Date of Stay:

Nice park, location may seem a bit scary but inside the park is fine. Sites have good room, level and very long if you don't want to unhook. We have stayed here several times while visiting our daughter. Will definitely stay here again. Nice central location ( DO NOT RELY ON GPS....IF YOU END UP ON SOUTHCROSS YOULL BE SORRY!).

Date of Stay:

The park is mostly permanent resident, but to us that's not a problem if it's clean and this one is. The only downgrade is you have to do reservations via internet, never saw the owners or hosts, but no problems. Kind of odd setup with side by side pull this, but they generally work OK. Overall nice park. Moving to this area so probably will stay here again.

Date of Stay:

The park could certain use some sprucing up. No place hardly at all to walk pets and the park is VERY steep throughout. Many sites are at very steep angles and obviously an older park, but will accommodate larger rigs. The driveway in is also very steep. That said, probably best bang for the buck in the area, especially for short term.

Date of Stay:

Very well kept park. Nice ( varying) views. Very easy big rig access w 50 amp and full hookups. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Date of Stay:

Very clean park. Not very many long termers (2). Overall well cared for. When we had a vehicle problem, the manager went out of his way to help us get back on the road. Beautiful area. Some road noise, but the same at almost every other one in the area, enjoyed the train whistle!
