Overall Rating:

Park was easy to find, the staff was very friendly and helpful and our site was level and good water. Our Verizon data worked good through a Canadian repeater on roaming. We camped at Renfrew / Ottawa West KOA in a Truck Camper.

Desert Empire Fair, Ridgecrest, California

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was run down with a lot of permanent and sites were too close together. It was windy, so a lot of blowing dust. No WI fi but OTA television and Verizon Internet worked good. Ridgecrest was a nice clean town with a nice Walmart nearby. I picked up nails and screws in the site. We camped at Desert Empire Fair in a Motorhome.

Pilot Knob RV Resort, Winterhaven, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We did not stay because we were not allowed to keep our enclosed trailer with a freezer on the lot. The park needs improvement and bathrooms need updating and the lots are small. One lady in the office had an attitude problem. Any park that won't let us park our enclosed trailer next to our motor home will never get our business. We camped at Pilot Knob RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Elk Mountain (NPS Campground), Hot Springs, South Dakota

Park is not designed for RVs. Extremely small parking areas that are basically unlevel barely off the main traveled roadway. We camped at Elk Mountain (NPS Campground) in a Truck Camper.

By The River RV Park & Campground, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Kerrville is a nice town and this is the best park in the area. The grounds are well maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful. The park is very pet friendly, the Wi-Fi and cable work great and is free. The park is quiet, restrooms and showers are always clean and work great. Evening campfires are nice when weather permits. We stayed at many RV resorts at every price level and this park is the most enjoyable and relaxing of them all and we will return. We camped at By The River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Trade Winds RV Resort (55+ park), Mission, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Advertised as a pet friendly park, but we had to move to a different site due to 2 crabby neighbors in park models complaining about some barking in the motorhome with windows closed, during the daytime. The manager was rude. The second lot was very dirty and dusty like a dust bowl. The park needs a lot of maintainance and electrical upgrading. The workcampers did an excellent job of keeping the restrooms and showers clean. Sites are small and streets are very narrow. Mostly park models. We will not return. We camped at Trade Winds RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
