After reading the previous reviews for Bethpage, I was a little apprehensive about going. I'm glad I didn't change my mind. I thought it was a great place! We somehow ended up with a paved site on Loblolly, right beside a playground, and right down the street from the pool and beach. We spent a good deal of time in the pool as it was extremely hot while we were there. The pool was very clean, well staffed and not very crowded at all, even on the weekend. The adult pool is nice as well. The camp store had everything we needed and wasn't outrageously priced. All the staff we encountered there were very knowledgeable and courteous. We even had a lady chase us down to tell us a golf cart had just come in as we were leaving the store to inquire about one. Only a few minor negative thoughts: there seemed to be quite a few unsupervised kids there who were loud and obnoxious, but obviously that isn't the campground's fault. The other is the same as everyone else, it stinks that you're on the bay, but can only see the bay if you walk down to a boat slip or peek between two trailers. The water on the beach was really green, but again, I'm not sure much could be done about that. It's a beautiful spot despite those things and we had a wonderful time. The grounds are immaculately kept and the hosts were checking golf cart drivers all the time. I didn't see where there was a huge amount of golf carts there and the ones that were, really weren't a nuisance. My son was able to ride his bike safely the whole time we were there, however we didn't let him out on the "main drag" . We camped at Bethpage Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.
