Nine Eagles State Park, Davis City, Iowa

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for one night on our way home. Since it was before mid April the restrooms and showers weren't open. They look to be newer. Sites gravel, some more level than others. No problem with branches. Water by hydrant so you need to fill tank. No tv by antenna. Got 4g service. As we were here so early I can't comment on how it would be here with more rigs as far as noise and wood smoke. Not sure I would say this is big rig friendly. We camped at Nine Eagles State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Table Rock Lake State Park, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

First time here and only stayed 2 nights. Would love to return with our boat. We had site 216 in campground 2. Easy to back in because you have the road in front and not grass or another site. Liked having a laundry on site. We camped on a Sunday and Monday nights so camp was not full and quiet. We camped at Table Rock Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whispering Pines RV Park, Clinton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Looking on Rvparkreviews we saw only 2 reviews for this park in 2009 and 2006. It was a good review but so outdated. Glad we stopped! Sites level and all the hookups for $25. Very open area but pines in back to rest under if it turns hot. This couple seem like go-getters and I'll bet they really make this park beautiful. We would come here again for longer and go to Buffalo National River and to the lake southeast of here. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Richardson State Historical Park, Jacksboro, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Site 8 was a pretty level pull through. Water and electric. Close to showers. Loved seeing wildlife. Very clean laundromat in town by post office. Staff very helpful. Downside is there is only one shower/restroom building so if you camp in east loop you have to drive over. Definitely would be back. We camped at Fort Richardson State Historical Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Level sites. Good hookups. Using antenna we got quite a few stations. Very friendly. Liked that they had 2 dog runs. Laundry had 2 washers and 2 dryers; could maybe add one more of each if there were room. We camped at Boot Hill RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

La Vedera RV Park, Lamesa, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Useful for overnight when you're tired or trying to get off the road in windy conditions. Site level enough. Easy to get in as only a dozen campers here and most are seasonal. Areas around seasonal campers clean and picked up. No showers. One-stool restroom with sink for women, same for men. Didn't check the men's but women's was okay; it could have been cleaner and needed toilet paper. Not even a spare roll in there. The rate was $35 which they said was Good Sam rate yet the park is not listed on Good Sam site. Convenience store had some basics. Park is in a run-down area with neighborhood dogs running loose. For that reason I didn't walk our dogs too far from camper. Also check reviews under La Vedara park in Lamesa, Texas. Pretty pricey for what you get. Electric was good and good water pressure however. Our entire length is about 53 feet and spot was 60 feet. We camped at La Vedera RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lil' Bit of Country RV Park, Strawberry Point, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night, but would stay again and stay longer to use as a base camp. Gravel pads but mostly level. Nicely mowed, trees planted for future shade. Full hookups. Walking distance to downtown. One shower for both sexes but very clean. We camped at Lil' Bit of Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Chief RV Park, Ponca City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We needed to stay in the area for one night to visit relatives. This worked for one night. It's more of a park for people working in the area. There are full hookups and water pressure is good, electric good, but we weren't using our a/c either. The trees are small yet so no problem with fitting on the site. The lady who checked us in was very nice, but didn't really know where the hookups were at the sites and her husband was gone. The down sides of the park is that it's close to the refinery so you get some chemical smell, that people let their dogs run loose or let them howl (I felt sorry for that dog), and some folks left their garbage on site after leaving instead of using the dumpster. Overall, the park was pretty clean. If I wanted to visit relation again, I might try to find something else, but would use this if I couldn't. We camped at Big Chief RV Park in a Motorhome.

Butterfield Station RV Park, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This park was recommended to us by friends who frequently use it on their way to and from Arizona. All sites have 30 amp service and water. Most have sewer. The sites are all pull throughs, and are quite level gravel base. Each site has a garbage can. There are approximately 10-12 sites around a ramada, and there are 3 areas widely spaced apart. In spite of being near the interstate, road noise was not a problem. Even being outside was not bad. There is also some train noise but no horns. We got 4G WiFi using our Verizon Jetpack and it was quite fast. Also picked up at least 12 TV channels using the antenna. The area around the sites is nice and grassy with what are I think a type of yucca plant and small thorny bushes. Mountains are in the distance. A good spot for overnight or to see Silver City. The gas station is very accessible for a rig, and there is a DQ restaurant here. Hours however are limited. One drawback is the drives to the parking spots are somewhat washboard. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butterfield Station RV Park in a Motorhome.

Artesia RV Park, Artesia, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly management, good gravel, some grass, some trees. Long-term folks keep their sites nice. Full hook-ups worked well. Missed having a picnic table, but managed without. After talking to a couple of folks, found out that anywhere in this region where there is pipeline or oil patch work, you should always make a reservation for a spot. We wanted something halfway between Roswell and Carlsbad, as we were seeing caverns, but didn't want to take 2-lane roads west. We would stay here again. We camped at Artesia RV Park in a Motorhome.

Travelers World Campground, Clovis, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Our spot was very level, and we had full hookups. The management had put down all new gravel and smoothed it nicely. The showers were clean and the laundry was small but nice, 3 washers/2 dryers. Management was very friendly. Not much shade but we don't usually expect it in this area. Some train noise but nothing too bad. Some stockyard smell, but again, we expected it being in this area. In November, it probably isn't quite as bad as high summer. We would stay here again. We camped at Travelers World Campground in a Motorhome.

Hargus RV Park, Clinton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed here one night. Sites are gravel, and most have shade. As far as big rig friendly, I would say maybe, not yes or no. We had a 38 ft. motorhome with car on a dolly and we fit in site 6, but I could see some problems for swinging into the site or other sites. There are mostly seasonal people here, so it would be a good idea to call and reserve, as there aren't that many sites for travelers. Our area was clean, hookups were good. We didn't use or look at the showers/restrooms/laundry. Registration lady was nice enough. The one drawback for sure is the drive going down into the campground; it's a bit steep and we went very slowly and yet still scraped the dolly a bit. We would stay here again. We camped at Hargus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Southgate RV Park of Fayetteville, Fayetteville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are mostly gravel, or old asphalt. Full hookups, but some of them look as though they could use some TLC. Ours worked fine however. There is shade, but mostly for seasonal rigs. Plenty of grass if your dog behaves well and can be off leash to chase ball/frisbee. Next to a Tyson plant, but we didn't notice much in the way of bugs or odor. We didn't use the laundry or showers/restrooms, but did check them out. Pretty basic, could maybe use a bit more cleaning. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. We were there 2 nights so we could see some of Buffalo National River and Ozark National Forest. We would probably stay again. We camped at Southgate RV Park of Fayetteville in a Motorhome.

Peculiar Park Place RV Park, Peculiar, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

After reading other reviews, we decided to stay here for one night on our way south. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Sites are level and long; nice to have a small patio with concrete picnic table. We had no trouble with electric, water, or sewer. Nicely landscaped area. We didn't have time to walk their trails, but would like to if we come this way again. The two biggest drawbacks are the steep drive coming in and interstate noise, but we also know that any campground by a major road will have noise and so we don't expect any real quiet as you would have in the boondocks. As for the drive, I was expecting it after reading one review so drove in very carefully. There is another driveway, but it would bring you up to the office the wrong way and you would end up trying to turn around. We would stay here again. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.
