This is a campground that you will either love or hate mainly because of the location I think. You are a good 20 minutes from the closest big town with a grocery store, gas station, etc. So if, you like to be out in the country this is your place. The campground has potiential to be a really great place but needs a little work like the spot I was in was all sandy. There said they are working on making more spots with chat gravel and that would be a good improvement. There is plenty to do for a family with mini golf, pool, lake, horseshoes, basketball court, and acres to explore. My family and another was invited to stay for free if we would take a two hour tour for their timeshare program. We did the tour and just decided it wasn't right for us.

My family really loved this state park! We went just for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. The park is awesome in so many ways. The drive in is just the beginning of a beautiful state park. Check in was a breeze because we pre registered online and Jim(the campground host and check-in person was very helpful and friendly plus he was our neighbor for the weekend)guided us to our spot. We loved all the state park had to offer for our family. Miles of beach with no hotels close, fishing pier very close with a little store and super friendly employees, overall a really nice campground I would recommend to anyone. My only complaint is most of the rv sites are dirt and when it rains like it did the site is all muddy and some are under water. The sites need a little work and it would be nice if they were at least gravel.

This is the first park my family camped at with our new camper. I think we got spoiled now because every time we go camping we say Tanglewood is still our favorite. We love the fact the sites are all paved with plenty of space between your neighbor. There is so much to do here as a family. There is two golf courses, tennis(which you need white soled shoes because the courts are the real deal and there is a 6 dollar fine I think), water park, horse stables, miles of trails both mountain and walking, arces of beautiful land, and just a all around great campground close to the interstate. They just opened a new fenced in dog park where you can let you dog run like the wind. There is a grocery store right through the field so if you need anything its close enough to walk too. The only thing that some people may not like the fact that there is no fire pits at your campsite but they do have a couple down by the pavilion which was no big deal to us. We love this campground and I hate to brag to much because I don't want it to stay full all the time.:) Hope they build more sites in the near future.
