Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The normal rate is $50 but they were running a special. This is a new campground and has more premium facilities for campers than I have seen anywhere else. It has easy access to I-40 but it is behind the casino so the highway noise was minimal. There is a gas station operated by the casino but there are no other businesses in the area. We will stay here again when traveling on I-40. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sky Ute Casino RV Park, Ignacio, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice and quiet. Laundry, showers, and pool shared with hotel. Short walk from park to casino/pool area. Paved roads and sites. Only 23 sites available so reservations should be made before arrival. We camped at Sky Ute Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Thirty minutes from Durango. It is a great town for walking, shopping, and bar hopping. The Durango-Silverton scenic railroad is a great tour. Suggest taking the train to Silverton and the bus back. This park is about an hour from Mesa Verde National Park to the west and Pagosa Springs to the east.

Roadrunner RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel sites with tall weeds, goatheads, and red ants. Mostly full-timers. A few junk campers looked to be abandoned. Good location for visiting Santa Fe but they need to hire someone to landscape. Do not bring pets here because of conditions. We camped at Roadrunner RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Isleta Lakes & RV Park, Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park next to two fishing lakes. A few full-timers that needed their sites cleaned up. Nice lady at check-in. Non-campers are allowed in to fish the lakes for a fee. The days we were there, there were quite a few people fishing. Roads can get very dusty. Casino is half a mile away but there is a shuttle. We camped at Isleta Lakes & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good park for overnighting off I-40. Far enough off the highway that road noise was not a problem. Large sites, very flat. There was a nice looking pool and bath house. Only greenery was at playground and dog walk. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Oklahoma City East KOA, Choctaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This park is undergoing a transformation to a KOA standards park. Our site pad was gravel with a slope which would have made it difficult to level our RV. It had a nice new outdoor table and chairs. Also a brand new, never used, outdoor fire pit. Staff was not the friendliest I have encountered but competent. The price seemed high for the facilities condition. The off-leash dog run had no grass but it looks new also. It is a quiet park well away from Interstate 40 but with close access to Oklahoma City attractions. Camp store hours are very short, two hours in the morning and two hour in the evening. We camped at Oklahoma City East KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is estimated as our stay was paid for by the RV dealership where we purchased our RV. This is a great, family oriented park. Large well spaced sites, nice camp store, nice playground equipment, kayaking, and good fishing from the shore make this a great place to stay. It is also close to a Bass Pro shop, restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping in Grapevine. We camped at The Vineyards in a Fifth Wheel.

Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA, Durant, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park with friendly staff. This park is well maintained with two separate off-leash dog runs. Wonderful clubhouse. It would be a good place to entertain the grandkids while the parents are at the casino. Most of the sites are far enough from the casino to require use of the free shuttle. This park has no trees and is subject to the strong Oklahoma winds. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
