Gunter Hill COE, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed in several COE parks around the country and have been very pleased. This campground is excellent. There are two sections, Catoma Creek and Antioch Branch. We stayed in Catoma Creek section, which is newer. Easy access into the park and large sites offer a patio, picnic table, grill and fire ring. The site accommodated our fifth wheel and truck with lots of room to spare. The host who checked us in was very nice and helpful. There's a well-stocked Dollar General just up the road.

We will definitely stay here again. Rate reflects our America the Beautiful Pass. We recommend the newer section, Catoma Creek. Antioch Branch is better suited to smaller RV's or tent camping. We camped at Gunter Hill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Crooked Creek RV Park, West Union, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Wish there was a rating higher than 10 to describe this campground. Access is easy in and out. All sites are pull throughs. Restrooms are spotless individual units with shower, toilet, and sink. There are plenty of units so no waiting. Laundry is clean and modern. We did not use the pool, but it is large and immaculate. They also have a basketball court and nice playground. Great area to walk pets. We stayed in Site 18 and had a large grassy area overlooking the lake. We'll definitely put it on our list of favorite places to stay. We camped at Crooked Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tuck in the Wood Campground, St. Helena, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park 5 days while visiting the Beaufort, SC area. The name is appropriate because the campground is very wooded, and we found it extremely difficult to navigate through the trees. Entry and exit points had sharp curves and trees right in the curves, one of which we sideswiped with our fifth wheel, causing minor damage. The restrooms were clean and there were places to walk our dogs, although there was a warning sign about alligators. We didn't know if it was for humor or for real. Given the difficulty of navigation, we will not return to this park. We camped at Tuck in the Wood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped at this campground on our way south and then again several days later. Easy access in and out in our pull through site. Very friendly staff. Restrooms and showers were very clean. Pet friendly with a fenced play area for dogs. Wi-fi good. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Magnolia RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
