Mama Bear RV Park, Capitan, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly and helpful owners. They don't take credit cards. we didn't use restrooms. TV reception almost non-existence. One road in and we had to use turn around at the back of the property which is very wide, because our spot was next to the large tree. E/W/S was all we needed and $25 was just about right for this 20 space park. very clean, weeds/grass kept short, no trash and full timers spots are well maintained. Hard packed rock for roads and spaces. overall, we were very satisfied and would stay there again. We camped at Mama Bear RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Granite Hill Campground & Adventure Golf, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

If I had young kids the $59 they charge might be worth it as they have a pool, ball field/courts, horseshoes, a fishing pond, nice fast food café and ice cream. But $59 for me is way too much. This is an older park and it is showing its age. Showers were not clean and needed repairs. Toilet/sinks were OK but room needed some repairs. I could never figure out the shower water controller so my water temp was always on the hot side. Take a look inside the laundry room and you will see years of plumbing repairs. Most drive thru sites in my area were uneven so bring your leveling blocks/wood. Site signage almost nonexistent. I had to drive around until I found mine. Park is huge, a former farm. It has several separate sites so it is not crowded. Mature trees in my area. Overpriced for the rate they charge. Electric is above ground (this tells you this is an old park). It was convenient to Gettysburg though so it met our location needs. Roads between sites were tight, mostly one car wide. Would not stay there again. We camped at Granite Hill Campground & Adventure Golf in a Travel Trailer.

Arkadelphia Campground, Arkadelphia, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stay here only if you need to sleep overnight and you only need elect and water. Uneven but spacious spots. Their "box TV" system didn't work and their Wi-Fi was iffy. No picnic table, grill or fire ring. Showers clean with individual showers with door locks but needs a paint job. This park has potential but needs a short and long term update plan. Very pricy for what you get. Mom and daughter are very nice but did not give me wifi code at check in and were closed when I returned for it and did not know how to hook up tv system. We camped at Arkadelphia Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Back-in sites along highway 14-16-20 are tight and night time noise was minimal. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained but no doors (curtains) on stalls. They do not take credit cards. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sand Island Recreation Area (BLM), Bluff, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

An adequate, basic place to stay with no hook-ups. Next to San Juan river, so expect mosquitoes. No access to water here, but there is a boat launch nearby. Pit toilets and a water spicket at entrance. Road noise. It beats staying in a commercial RV park. We camped at Sand Island Recreation Area (BLM) in a Travel Trailer.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Overall we had an enjoyable visit and we recommend. 74 spaces, most pull thru, about a mile off highway with minor vehicle noise. Good laundry, lots of tourist brochures in office (free coffee), ice for sale. Bathroom clean but a little dated, but I liked the privacy curtains and cloth mats. Two free gas grills (I couldnt get to work), the grates were clean but there was a huge build-up of residue at the bottom. Mature trees, sites have small patches of grass and a picnic table (which needed to be sanded and re-stained and sealed). Roads and sites are gravel. Easy in and out for all sizes of RV. Cable and WiFi good. Best value around. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Travel Trailer.

De Anza RV Resort, Amado, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Not overly impressed with this large park next to a busy, loud, four lane highway. Sites are gravel with good space between sites but mine did not have a picnic table. Lots of things to do for those who live here full-time during the winter. Good location to tour the area, easy in, easy out. If you go south then come back north to the park, you will pass thru a Border Patrol checkpoint, which slows you down a little but is not a problem. We camped at De Anza RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Amado to the north has a nice restaurant and Tubac to the south has golf and lots of shopping and historic things to see. We stayed 3 nights. The park next door is unkept, rather trashy so I recommend you not consider staying there, although it is a few dollars cheaper.

Woody Mountain Campground & RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Older park that needs a major make over especially in their bathrooms, ladies, no not use the "outside" showers that have been added to the end of the main facility, as there is a space at the top of the wall that the shower next to yours can look into your stall, use the showers in the ladies bathroom instead. If you want the basics, elect., water and sewer, OK to stay here. Lots of pine trees, adequate space between sites, relatively flat site. Convenient to downtown and shopping, quiet. We camped at Woody Mountain Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hill Country RV Park, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Starting to show it's age, lots of jerry-rigged repairs. New cable TV system did not work. Bathrooms really showing their age and use. Most sites are seasonal or full time. Gravel, pull thru, level. Good laundry. Some trees but not in the far end of park. Better than dry camping. We camped at Hill Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rainbow Lake RV & Resort, Ruidoso, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00

They really pack them in here, side by side in most sites, 5 feet to neighbor. At check in clerk failed to tell us about the $5 refundable deposit for a bathroom key, so I didn't get a shower. Park has poor grounds maintenance. Most sites not level. Stayed here because casino is 3 min away. Pretty setting next to forest. Has potential but needs work. No picnic table or cooking grill. Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is stuck in the 70's and is in need of a major remodel. Concrete around office area all cracked, fascia rotting, needs painting. Bathrooms smell of mold and are dingy and dirty feeling. Wife would not use bathroom. Some street noise due to large truck stop across the street. You will need your own TV outside cable. Easy in and out. Would not stay there again. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Chipmunk Crossing RV Park, West Plains, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

A hidden gem off the beaten path. Extremely well kept property that shows pride of ownership. Very quiet in a wooded area with a walking path. Only 2 rigs in park. Would have stayed longer but schedule did not allow. Lots of pretty country to see in this area. The owners are super. Highly recommend. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
