St. Mary Campground (NPS Campground), Glacier National Park, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

St Mary Campground is just beyond the St Mary visitors center on the east end of Going to the Sun road. There are 3 loops. Loop C has 4 private unisex hot showers which are spacious and push button. (One was closed during our stay and the water will be shut off September 19th). Showerheads are at a good height, even for folks over 6'! The pull through sites vary GREATLY in levelness so choose carefully. Generation hours are 8 am to 10 am, a midday time and 5 pm to 7 pm. (We were out exploring midday so didn't pay attention to the time). Most of the sites are right by the loop road and many campers head out near sunrise. This is a VERY busy campground and fills up most weekends. The website provides good information on what time the campgrounds fill up. Loop C is very open, Loop A and B are much shadier. We camped at St. Mary Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are several easy hikes at Two Medicine lake where it's less crowded. Several ranger talks at the campground. Laundry at Johnston campground, just outside the park was $2.00 for wash and $1.75 for dry. Be sure to stop for Pie at Two Sisters restaurant north of the park entrance on 89. Yum!

Veterans' Memorial Campground, Pincher Creek, Alberta

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Delightful small campground along Pincher Creek, AB. Level back-in spots with picnic tables and fire rings. Friendly camp host! Showers are clean and included in camp fee. Firewood is available for purchase. A few sites will accommodate 40' units and sites are assigned by camphost. Cash, debit and credit cards accepted. Wifi worked great while we were there. Dump station and potable water near entrance. Propane is available at a nearby service station and a larger dump station at the Co-op 2 miles away (which is also a great place to hookup tow vehicles!) We camped at Veterans' Memorial Campground in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Nat'l Forest / Jemez Falls Campground, La Cueva, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $5.00
Overall Rating:

No hookups or dump station. Pit toilets only. There are 4 loops and the weekends are busy, especially in the summer. It's a popular location for hiking and fishing. The falls are a moderate hike over a mile from the campground. McCauley Warm Springs are over 2 miles away via hiking trails only. Several fishing accesses within driving distance, but not at the campground. Lots of space between sites and plenty of shade. Camp hosts really keep this campground CLEAN. There are faucets that provide drinking water, but they are not threaded. We camped at Santa Fe Nat'l Forest / Jemez Falls Campground in a Motorhome.

Ocala Sun RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice level sites and several available due to snowbirds vacating their sites. Excellent restrooms/showers in the club house. Although it's within a few miles of I-75, road noise not invasive. Good Verizon service. Plenty of space for satellite dishes. Enjoyed our stay. We camped at Ocala Sun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground, Telkwa, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is reflective of great exchange rate! Good place for an overnight, if you're not a fisher, GREAT place if you are. The Bulkley river is steps away. Several pull IN sites, versus back in, which was a new experience. Great wifi and good cable. Plenty of space and reasonable prices on laundry, which took US and Canadian quarters. Very friendly owners. Showers were spacious and included in cost. There are trains traveling during the night across the river, so some whistles. Also, right on highway 16 so some road noise on level 4, which is pretty parallel to the road. We would stay there again. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Three Bears RV Park, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Great stop for an overnight on the Alcan. Level pull through sites, some longer than others, on a grass/gravel mix. Not much shade in water/electric sites but plenty in the full hookup area. This is a small park and the sites are pretty close but room for slides and shorter awnings. Probably VERY popular during hunting season. Restaurant and bar across the street. You choose your site. We camped at Three Bears RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects a Passport America discount for one night. Just north of Buena Vista, a good place to stop for a few nights to visit the area. River access NOT available from the campground. Sites were level, with only small trees in the overnight area, which has 24 sites of various lengths. The full-timers/extended stay area was very shady and very well kept. Wi-Fi was weak at our site, which was 75 yards from the office. Didn't use the TV so can't review on the reception. Bathrooms and showers were excellent. Small playground for kids and only one pet allowed. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
