Johnson Creek RV Resort & Park, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a well kept 'secret'. Set in a beautiful Pecan Orchard we stayed here 3 nights using this as a base to see lovely Kerrville and also go across to Fredericksburg. The park does have long concrete sites with FHU although we used a back-in site with still plenty of space. Picnic table in generous space between sites. Deer come in the morning and evening and ponies are in the adjacent field. Phone reception good with OK antenna reception. Lovely owner and staff. We stayed 2 nights using Passport America ($26) and 1 more night using Good Sam ($40). So quiet and yet only 6 mile to Ingram and then into Kerrville. Highly recommend this park for convenience and using as a base to visit Fredericksburg. We camped at Johnson Creek RV Resort & Park in a Motorhome.

Kerrville is a beautiful town and then go to Fredericksburg where it is a must do to tour the National Museum of the Pacific War - home of Admiral Nimitz Museum. Entry ticket give access for 2 days and if you really wanted to take everything in, you will need 2 days. Unfortunately we could not but we very much enjoyed the time we spent there.

Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights here as only 10mins from Abilene. Easy access off the I20 but no traffic noise - just a distant hum. Very long level gravel sites that are quite spacious with FHU. Small laundry and shower block that was clean - no other amenities or shop etc. Didn't use showers but used laundry. A basic park but very convenient and VERY quiet. Would stay here again. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Possum Kingdom State Park, Caddo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park right on the lake after travelling miles on the road to the park. We camped in our 35' motorhome with tow in the Spanish Oaks area. , Site 5. The back-in spots were long enough and we could park our tow at the front. A lovely covered picnic table was strangely on the other side of our motorhome which limited our use. TV reception not so good nor phones but the peace and quiet and wonderful view more than made up for that for a couple of nights. Not a great deal of shade however it was enough for us. We would stay here again. We camped at Possum Kingdom State Park in a Motorhome.

San Angelo State Park, San Angelo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 nights on Site 4 of the Red Arroyo area with FHU. We did not have a view but the setting was still very nice. Had we known that a little further along we could have had a lake view, we would have asked for that. We didn't use restrooms. The level pull-thru was plenty long enough for our 35ft motorhome with tow and well away from the other sites. Nice covered picnic tables. Rangers were extremely helpful when we rang to book and advised us to enter via the South Entrance. A very quiet park but not much shade. It was very windy but also very warm. Would stay here again. We camped at San Angelo State Park in a Motorhome.

San Angelo KOA, San Angelo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The park is well maintained with level gravel sites long enough for our 35ft motorhome and tow. Top to tail parking enabled wide spaces between sites. Picnic table provided at sites but very little shade. Good wifi and cable. Trash is collected at site daily or you can use the bins. The park was quite quiet the 2 nights we stayed. Very little road noise. We would use again if in the area. We camped at San Angelo KOA in a Motorhome.

A visit to Fort Concho is a must. We had a lovely meal at Miss Hattie's Bar & Restaurant and then took a tour of Miss Hattie's Bordello. Both tours were extremely interesting, but for very differing reasons, and we highly recommend both.

Overall Rating:

An excellently maintained beautiful RV park. Large concrete slabs with table and umbrella. Not many trees tho. (FHU, Level sites, Pool, Cable and good wi-fi). We only stayed one night whilst travelling north but would stay here again. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Motorhome. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Motorhome.

Trader's Village RV Park, Grand Prairie, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We paid weekly rate of $252, i.e. one day free instead of Good Sam daily discount. Well located to see/visit both Fort Worth or Dallas. Whilst sites are long, they are close together and trees can prevent you opening awnings. Concrete slabs are cracked and need to be wider. We experienced rain and this made it difficult to walk to car without going through mud. Had to find our own picnic table and bring to site. Seems to be a shortage of tables. Weekend markets are a stroll away with lots of 'stuff' as well as entertainment and food stalls. Quite fun to walk through. We found this a quiet campground overall. Good wi-fi but no cable. We camped at Trader's Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Long fairly level gravel sites, some with concrete patios, some of which are cracked but usable, with a table. Good cable and wifi. Easy to access from Hwy 287. Unfortunately it rained most of the time here but didn't deter our touring. Bathrooms come as a complete little room and shower was good. Only 2 bathrooms. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a 35ft Motorhome. We stayed 3 nights before meeting up with friends. Would stay here again if passing this way. Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Had stayed here in 2009 and keen to try it again. It is now under different ownership and is a clean and well kept RV park. Long pull through site, gravel but even, with decent spacing between campers. Great indoor heated pool and spa. Good wi-fi and they will loan you a box (no charge) to hook up to cable as we wanted to watch baseball; however, there are lots of local TV channels using the antenna. Easy access and Stayed 5 nights to meet up with friends. Would recommend and stay here again. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This park is conveniently located to so many attractions, shopping and restaurants. Staff very helpful. You are escorted to site. The park is well maintained - each site is cleaned as soon as someone leaves. We stayed for 7 nights in a back-in site S25, that was very quiet yet handy to the bathrooms. Our site was a good size for our 36ft motorhome with concrete patio and table. Highly recommend and would stay here again. Laundry has large machines and dryers. Also has heated pool. Unfortunately road works are being carried out right out the front of the Park which may have created noise for campers staying down the front of the Park. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.

Denver Meadows RV Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Whilst not good, this was not the worst we have stayed in! You stay here due to the proximity to the city centre (7 miles) as there are no other parks around. We have friends who live 5 miles away so this was a very convenient location. VERY basic sites - water, electric, sewer. Our site was fairly wide pull-thru on a dirt surface. The people we dealt with were very nice and accommodating (had to get rid of wasps in power box!) NO wi-fi, NO cable but there are plenty of channels. $3 per wash!!! 25c per 5 mins for dryer! We stayed at the back end of the park where it was quite quiet even tho the light rail runs nearby. Reading other reviews, I think this park has been 'cleaned up' a lot with respect to permanents/security etc. Would stay here again if unable to get into State Park, (but just for convenience). We camped at Denver Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights in-transit to Wyoming. Easy on-off the Interstate but still very quiet. Had a pull-thru as we didn't want to disconnect tow vehicle. Plenty of room at our site and a nice park to walk around or ride a bike. Hunt Bros Pizza on site - delicious and great value. Highly recommend. Unfortunately Stuhl Museum had closed the Pioneer park section on Labour Day and we were 2 days later. Would stay here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We have both stored our Motorhome and tow car here as well as stayed here 3 times. This park was new when we first came and is maintained impeccably. Owners and staff are extremely helpful. This park now has a horse section but we did not visit it. Large concrete pull thru sites with table. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of things for kids to do including pool. Adjacent to I69 but quiet. Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Our rate reflects weekly charge. Very efficient checkin. This is a relatively new park and we stayed here 2 weeks while preparing our motorhome for storage, also here at Little Turtle in their new facilities. Large 70ft concrete slabs in park with FHU and wide gravel well maintained roads. We were here out of season so it wasn't crowded and the pool was understandably closed. Great laundry $1.75 wash and $1.25 dry and good showers. Excellent wi-fi but cable is not good however this is being addressed. Highway out front but noise is minimal. Trains far enough away at the rear that hardly even heard them only the occasional horn. This park is very convenient (only 2 miles) to shops and restaurants and of course the Lake. Only 5 miles into Ochetah where far more shops and restaurants and only a few miles to the I40. Overall a great clean park. A few more trees are going to be planted soon. We will return in 2016 when we take our motorhome out of storage and will stay here for a while before travelling on. Highly recommend. We camped at Little Turtle RV & Storage in a Motorhome.
