Stinson RV Park, Campbell, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects discount for 3 nights. Nice small family owned RV park only 2 years old and conveniently located just off the I-30. We actually stayed at the front of the park but did experience any road noise Long gravel sites that still require a little work. Owners are lovely and make you feel most welcome. 9 hole golf course next door ($10 for game) was enjoyable as well as challenging! Extremely clean laundry with key codes for laundry and restrooms. No shade yet but trees have been planted. Check this park out on your travels as well as surrounding towns. We camped at Stinson RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Sulphur Springs - walk the square, have a meal in one of the many lovely restaurants. We also visited the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum nearby. Whilst small it was very interesting. Toured Greenville and Campbell before heading north on our travels. Enjoy a game of golf next door. Highly recommend this park as a location for visiting the area.

Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here twice a year as we also store our motorhome and tow car here and have done so now for 3 years. We spend time here when commencing our travels and again when completing our travels and preparing to store. This park is convenient with large sites, pool, wi-fi, Excellent laundry (probably the best laundry I've ever used) and very clean amenities. There are now a few workers here but they are quiet and keep their sites clean. Interior roads are gravel but OK. Some sites have shade. Staff and owners are very friendly and always ready to help if needed. We camped at Little Turtle RV & Storage in a Motorhome.

Lufkin KOA, Lufkin, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Located beside the highway but there was no noticeable road noise. We camped here for 3 nights over Fathers Day weekend whilst wending our way north. A lovely pool and the owners were very friendly. Check in was easy. We encountered a few ants here and feel that the grounds need to be treated for ants/bugs. The grounds need to be maintained more and certainly more attention to detail overall. At $44 per night (with KOA discount) this is overpriced. The edges of roadways and pads need attention/trimming. The laundry needs TLC - cleaning of machines, floors, etc. We camped at Lufkin KOA in a Motorhome.

Tyler State Park, Tyler, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

A clean and well maintained park. We camped in the Big Pine area on FHU Site 65. Site had a slight slope but easy to compensate. Plenty of room with BBQ and picnic table. Very pretty park with lovely shady trees and lovely trails. Many activities to suit everyones needs. Unfortunately we had a full day of rain that kept us from doing things however we would stay here again and highly recommend. We camped at Tyler State Park in a Motorhome.

Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park, Kinder, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Price paid reflects 2 x days at Good Sam rate, 2 other days paid $29/day. Shuttle to Casino is very handy. Concrete pads are very good even though they have a slight gradient. Wi-fi was good but Cable terrible. Rang office and maintenance were sent. Said they would call the technician who should come tomorrow - but that never happened. We were on site 79 and site 78 also had terrible cable - impossible to watch. My husband ran a cable to site 80 and it was perfect!! We stayed mid week but park started to fill up during Thursday in readiness for Father's Day weekend. Young people riding around on golf carts so glad we were leaving on Friday morning. Not a lot of shade and it was very hot so pool was welcoming. A beautiful park to walk around for exercise. A lovely park overall and we would stay here again if ever in this area. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Mathis, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

.A lovely park with good pull-thru sites with FHU. We stayed in our motorhome in No.45 with a view of the lake which has a good fishing pier. This park is frequented a lot on a daily basis but it never felt crowded. We had a covered patio with picnic table but as it was very hot, we did not use it much. We did not use the amenities. It was a nicely shaded site with tar drive and a small concrete slab - sufficient for our 35ft motorhome and tow car. We camped at Lake Corpus Christi State Park in a Motorhome.

Marina Bay Lake Cove RV Resort, Dickinson, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

A very quiet park yet so conveniently located for shops, restaurants, Houston, Kemah and Galveston. No road or train noises. There were a number of workers (assisting in Hurricane recovery) throughout the park however there was never any noise as they left daily. Concrete roads and back-in pads with grass in between. Not much shade and unfortunately in June it was extremely hot and humid. No picnic tables or patios but a beautiful heated pool. The shower/toilet rooms were exceptionally clean and the whole park was VERY tidy. Wi-fi reception was good as was AT&T. The owners were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. We booked in for 4 nights but extended to 12 to take in this lovely park and the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend and would stay here again if ever in this area. San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

An ideal location to access San Antonio using the local bus that stops right outside the gate. This is a gated park and is well controlled. This is also a very quiet park - no road or train noises so a good rest ensured. Food is available - breakfasts, pizza etc. Did not use bathrooms but has a very good laundry. Good WiFi and cell reception. Long pull-thru, FHU sites. Pool was clean and well kept although being holidays was very busy. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Eat at Rita's by the Walk and also Dick's Restaurant where the staff try not to be helpful!!! Such fun. Drove to Austin from here to visit the Capital building.

Johnson Creek RV Resort & Park, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a well kept 'secret'. Set in a beautiful Pecan Orchard we stayed here 3 nights using this as a base to see lovely Kerrville and also go across to Fredericksburg. The park does have long concrete sites with FHU although we used a back-in site with still plenty of space. Picnic table in generous space between sites. Deer come in the morning and evening and ponies are in the adjacent field. Phone reception good with OK antenna reception. Lovely owner and staff. We stayed 2 nights using Passport America ($26) and 1 more night using Good Sam ($40). So quiet and yet only 6 mile to Ingram and then into Kerrville. Highly recommend this park for convenience and using as a base to visit Fredericksburg. We camped at Johnson Creek RV Resort & Park in a Motorhome.

Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights here as only 10mins from Abilene. Easy access off the I20 but no traffic noise - just a distant hum. Very long level gravel sites that are quite spacious with FHU. Small laundry and shower block that was clean - no other amenities or shop etc. Didn't use showers but used laundry. A basic park but very convenient and VERY quiet. Would stay here again. Possum Kingdom State Park, Caddo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park right on the lake after travelling miles on the road to the park. We camped in our 35' motorhome with tow in the Spanish Oaks area. , Site 5. The back-in spots were long enough and we could park our tow at the front. A lovely covered picnic table was strangely on the other side of our motorhome which limited our use. TV reception not so good nor phones but the peace and quiet and wonderful view more than made up for that for a couple of nights. Not a great deal of shade however it was enough for us. We would stay here again. We camped at Possum Kingdom State Park in a Motorhome.

San Angelo State Park, San Angelo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 nights on Site 4 of the Red Arroyo area with FHU. We did not have a view but the setting was still very nice. Had we known that a little further along we could have had a lake view, we would have asked for that. We didn't use restrooms. The level pull-thru was plenty long enough for our 35ft motorhome with tow and well away from the other sites. Nice covered picnic tables. Rangers were extremely helpful when we rang to book and advised us to enter via the South Entrance. A very quiet park but not much shade. It was very windy but also very warm. Would stay here again. San Angelo KOA, San Angelo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The park is well maintained with level gravel sites long enough for our 35ft motorhome and tow. Top to tail parking enabled wide spaces between sites. Picnic table provided at sites but very little shade. Good wifi and cable. Trash is collected at site daily or you can use the bins. The park was quite quiet the 2 nights we stayed. Trader's Village RV Park, Grand Prairie, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We paid weekly rate of $252, i.e. one day free instead of Good Sam daily discount. Well located to see/visit both Fort Worth or Dallas. Whilst sites are long, they are close together and trees can prevent you opening awnings. Concrete slabs are cracked and need to be wider. We experienced rain and this made it difficult to walk to car without going through mud. Had to find our own picnic table and bring to site. Seems to be a shortage of tables. Weekend markets are a stroll away with lots of 'stuff' as well as entertainment and food stalls. Quite fun to walk through. We found this a quiet campground overall. Good wi-fi but no cable.
