Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA, Durant, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

An excellently maintained beautiful RV park. Large concrete slabs with table and umbrella. Not many trees tho. (FHU, Level sites, Pool, Cable and good wi-fi). We only stayed one night whilst travelling north but would stay here again. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Motorhome. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Motorhome.

Trader's Village RV Park, Grand Prairie, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We paid weekly rate of $252, i.e. one day free instead of Good Sam daily discount. Well located to see/visit both Fort Worth or Dallas. Whilst sites are long, they are close together and trees can prevent you opening awnings. Concrete slabs are cracked and need to be wider. We experienced rain and this made it difficult to walk to car without going through mud. Had to find our own picnic table and bring to site. Seems to be a shortage of tables. Weekend markets are a stroll away with lots of 'stuff' as well as entertainment and food stalls. Quite fun to walk through. We found this a quiet campground overall. Good wi-fi but no cable. We camped at Trader's Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Long fairly level gravel sites, some with concrete patios, some of which are cracked but usable, with a table. Good cable and wifi. Easy to access from Hwy 287. Unfortunately it rained most of the time here but didn't deter our touring. Bathrooms come as a complete little room and shower was good. Only 2 bathrooms. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a 35ft Motorhome. We stayed 3 nights before meeting up with friends. Would stay here again if passing this way. Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Had stayed here in 2009 and keen to try it again. It is now under different ownership and is a clean and well kept RV park. Long pull through site, gravel but even, with decent spacing between campers. Great indoor heated pool and spa. Good wi-fi and they will loan you a box (no charge) to hook up to cable as we wanted to watch baseball; however, there are lots of local TV channels using the antenna. Easy access and Stayed 5 nights to meet up with friends. Would recommend and stay here again. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This park is conveniently located to so many attractions, shopping and restaurants. Staff very helpful. You are escorted to site. The park is well maintained - each site is cleaned as soon as someone leaves. We stayed for 7 nights in a back-in site S25, that was very quiet yet handy to the bathrooms. Our site was a good size for our 36ft motorhome with concrete patio and table. Highly recommend and would stay here again. Laundry has large machines and dryers. Also has heated pool. Unfortunately road works are being carried out right out the front of the Park which may have created noise for campers staying down the front of the Park. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.

Denver Meadows RV Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Whilst not good, this was not the worst we have stayed in! You stay here due to the proximity to the city centre (7 miles) as there are no other parks around. We have friends who live 5 miles away so this was a very convenient location. VERY basic sites - water, electric, sewer. Our site was fairly wide pull-thru on a dirt surface. The people we dealt with were very nice and accommodating (had to get rid of wasps in power box!) NO wi-fi, NO cable but there are plenty of channels. $3 per wash!!! 25c per 5 mins for dryer! We stayed at the back end of the park where it was quite quiet even tho the light rail runs nearby. Reading other reviews, I think this park has been 'cleaned up' a lot with respect to permanents/security etc. Would stay here again if unable to get into State Park, (but just for convenience). We camped at Denver Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights in-transit to Wyoming. Easy on-off the Interstate but still very quiet. Had a pull-thru as we didn't want to disconnect tow vehicle. Plenty of room at our site and a nice park to walk around or ride a bike. Hunt Bros Pizza on site - delicious and great value. Highly recommend. Unfortunately Stuhl Museum had closed the Pioneer park section on Labour Day and we were 2 days later. Would stay here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We have both stored our Motorhome and tow car here as well as stayed here 3 times. This park was new when we first came and is maintained impeccably. Owners and staff are extremely helpful. This park now has a horse section but we did not visit it. Large concrete pull thru sites with table. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of things for kids to do including pool. Adjacent to I69 but quiet. Only 5 mins to Eufaula. We camped at Little Turtle RV & Storage in a Motorhome.

Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Our rate reflects weekly charge. Very efficient checkin. This is a relatively new park and we stayed here 2 weeks while preparing our motorhome for storage, also here at Little Turtle in their new facilities. Large 70ft concrete slabs in park with FHU and wide gravel well maintained roads. We were here out of season so it wasn't crowded and the pool was understandably closed. Great laundry $1.75 wash and $1.25 dry and good showers. Excellent wi-fi but cable is not good however this is being addressed. Highway out front but noise is minimal. Trains far enough away at the rear that hardly even heard them only the occasional horn. This park is very convenient (only 2 miles) to shops and restaurants and of course the Lake. Only 5 miles into Ochetah where far more shops and restaurants and only a few miles to the I40. Overall a great clean park. A few more trees are going to be planted soon. We will return in 2016 when we take our motorhome out of storage and will stay here for a while before travelling on. Highly recommend. We camped at Little Turtle RV & Storage in a Motorhome.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Beautifully laid out park with large concrete pads and patios. Bathrooms and Laundry excellent as was the wi-fi. Fully secure with access code after 6pm. Great management and we were taken to our site. There is no shade at this park but as we were at the end of the season it did not cause a problem to us. There are roadworks going on nearby but we were parked on Site 30 and neither the roadworks nor the Interstate bothered us. We were permitted to wash the bugs off the vehicle. A great park and we will return when in the area. Highly recommend. We camped in 38ft motorhome with tow. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Visit the State Capitol and take a tour (free) - well worth it and also a climb up the 297 steps to the top of the dome to take in the views. Also visit the 1st Presbyterian Church opposite the Capitol to see the stunning Tiffany windows.

Good concrete park, fairly new, with a very good laundry. Concrete sites with plenty of grass between but no room to put our table and chairs unless on the grass. Walk to shops and restaurants, good wi-fi, easy access but there is a $10 extra charge for pull-thru. No shade. Stayed 2 nights to sightsee in a 38ft motorhome with tow. Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Location, Location, Location. This park is handy to all there is to see in Dodge City and surrounds. We were here at the end of the season so pool etc closed but laundry is open 24 hours, clean bathrooms and a well stocked store. For security a gate code is given on arrival as gate is closed at 8pm. Excellent wi-fi and cell coverage. We used a pullthru site with plenty of room in the back section and although rail line across the road, there was only about 1 train per night and totally bearable. This is a very well run and maintained park. Owner very accommodating. Would highly recommend and we would stay here again. We camped in a 38ft motorhome with tow. Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing, Bayard, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very basic 'rural' park but plenty of room for pull-throughs. Owners advised us what site to take when we rang and collected our money later. Lovely people and very hospitable. This is 'no-frills' but offers lovely view of Chimney Rock, which is lit at night. Bugs and wasps were plentiful but also manageable! Stayed 2 nights to sightsee area. Trains run right by but we only had about 4 all through the night so quite bearable. Very peaceful otherwise. Would stay here again. Did not use amenities and shop had already closed for season. Level gravel site. Camped in 38ft motorhome with tow. We camped at Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing in a Motorhome.
