Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort / Thousand Trails, Willis, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed here a number of times and will continue to return when I am in town. The campground is large, spread out and very comfortable. I do not feel cramped, the sites are mostly level and well maintained. While the new WiFi system is pay-to-use, it is state of the art with approx. 3.0mbps speed. The bath houses are clean and well maintained, the basketball courts are clean as are the tennis courts. There is a mini-golf course. The swimming pool is one of the better ones I have seen at a RV campground. If you have a boat, the marina is perfect for launching it and spending time on the lake fishing. My only complaint is that the roads have a lot of pot holes. We camped at Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort / Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Town & Country RV and Mobile Home Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very quiet and peaceful. We parked here for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The camp host was very nice and helpful. The sites are large and for the most part level. The wifi is okay. We had trouble the first night getting connected to the internet and while a bit slow it is working fine this morning. We will definitely camp here again. We camped at Town & Country RV and Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.

Oakwood RV Resort, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent park to stay a night or a couple of weeks. It is well maintained, quiet and close to downtown Fredericksburg. Our military RV club held a rally here this past week. Everyone was very impressed with the park. They provided us with a great meeting room for our use the entire week. The entire staff was very nice, very polite and very helpful. Special thanks to a couple ladies for all they did for us that week. The park WiFi is one of the best I have found in my 4 years of traveling and it is Free.

The only cons are the sites were built years ago when coaches were much smaller. Our big rigs were a little cramped and the hedges between many sites made it difficult to gain access to our basement compartments, use our awnings or walk around the coach. The many trees, while providing shade, also block the use of your satellite TV however they have excellent cable TV. There is not much that can be done to fix either of these issues. Just FYI if you have a large coach: this is still a great campground to visit but you will be a little cramped. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The National Museum of the Pacific War is a must see when visiting this area. There are a lot of wineries along hwy 290 and lots of shopping and restaurants along Main Street. Fredericksburg has a lot to offer for all ages.

Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort / Thousand Trails, Willis, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

I stay at this park often and as many people have said on this site they have invested a lot of money to improve the park. The pool, boat docks, mini-golf, wifi and cable. The wifi was dreadful in this park, the new system they put in is very good, however like the cable tv system you have to pay a fee.

I really do like the park, my two biggest complaints for the last 4 years are the sites are not level and the roads are not maintained. Parking a large motorhome requires finding the best site of many bad choices (not level, ruts, no gravel) and then using lumber under your jack pads to get your coach level. The lumber also helps in keeping your jack pads from sinking into the mud due to the lack of gravel in all sites. The roads have many deep potholes that rock and roll the coach. They should remove the asphalt roads and just use gravel. It would be easier to maintain, if they would dedicate a couple of people to maintain the roads throughout the park. I know that the rain this year has exacerbated these problems, combined with the trenching, but this has been a problem for many years and they have yet to do anything to resolve these issues. We camped at Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort / Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
