Hazelmere RV Park & Campground, Surrey, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stay was OK. Be careful of steep grades and tight turns on campground roads. Took 2 days to get code for wifi. Code was computer generated and computer did not function when we arrived. We camped at Hazelmere RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

One hour drive to Vancouver. 30 minute drive to Vancouver International Airport. About 10 minutes to U.S. border; Pacific was less crowded than Peace Park.

Rainbows End RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Reserved 50A full hookup site in May. Was put in overflow area with 30A and no sewer hookup so that we could not use our clothes washer. Manager agreed to pay for their washer and dryer. When I went to the office to pay for camping and do laundry, manager was not there. Woman at desk said they could not refund for washer/dryer or discount from my original reservation price to a lesser hookup price. Cable TV did not work on our site. Be careful of concrete barriers along exit drive. Several people told us that a RV experienced severe damage on the exit road the day we arrived. We camped at Rainbows End RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

RV staff could recommend no restaurant for sea food. Restaurant prices are very high. Any sea food, e.g., fish and chips, started at about $25 and up. We found Dungeness crab at Costco for $9.99 per pound.

RV park of Last Resort. Hard to find. Poor signage. Narrow driveway entrance. Electricity was unusable. We will not stay there again. Cash only and parity if U.S. currency is used. We camped at Rundle Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Lamplighter Campground, Revelstoke, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Efficient in making reservation. Called day ahead of arrival to check conditions because of BC forest fires. Owner gave valid information with no threats in the area. Upon arrival, we were directed to a nearby site with easy access for our 39 foot motorhome towing a RAM behind us. Pleasant site in well manicured grassy area with shade on both sides. Water electric and sewer are all conveniently located. 30 amp electric provides steady 120V current with AC running. Park owners are pleasant and helpful in providing information about the park and surrounding area. We camped at Lamplighter Campground in a Motorhome.

Grand Forks Campground, Grand Forks, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from I-29. Easy entrance into the park. This is a family owned and operated park. The manager was hospitable and efficient in getting us checked in and directed us to our pull-through site. Getting into the site was unusually easy. Do bring at least 40 feet of sewage hose if you are towing and need to have your motorhome well forward to keep from disconnecting your toad. Sewage connections are at the rear of the sites. Trailers do not have that need. We will plan to stay here the next time we come through the area. We camped at Grand Forks Campground in a Motorhome.

St Paul East RV Park, Woodbury, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Check-in went well. After separating the toad from the MH we were guided to our site. I received directions to Costco from the lady at the desk after setting up on the site. Our site had electric and water but no sewer hookup. Unfortunately, the RV park is being sold to be replaced by condominiums. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beantown Campground, Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Camp space was adequate. We never got WIFI to work. We were connected to their WIFI but could not access the internet. We were unable to get cable TV. When I asked the owner if it was working he said it should be. I asked where he took his family for a fish dinner. He recommended the Harbor Fish Market. Meals were ala carte with entrée for about $25. Difficult to spend less than $60 for dinner for 2 with only water to drink. Door county is amazing. We explored every day; ferry to Washington Island and the island tour, wonderful state parks, amazing ice cream at Wilsons, breakfast at Al Johnsons, Friday night perch at AC Pub, whitefish at Corner Stone. Don't fail to visit the city parks; small, but many provide amazing views of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. We camped at Beantown Campground in a Motorhome.

The only grocery on North Door is Wiggly Piggly in Sister Bay, known to the locals as the pig. The gas station in Bailey's Harbor has basic provisions.

Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We found the campground in the Atlas; phone number but no name or address. Directions from Rachelle at the park put us on the wrong side of I-75. After we called back for a correct address for the GPS a drive through narrow streets in town got us to the park. Entrance drive is narrow with a steep grade down from Cemetery Road into the park. 3 mph entry causes extreme movement inside the coach. Park spaces are narrow with 12 foot gravel driveways between wooden platforms with picnic benches adjacent to the gravel drive. It was necessary to put a driver in our towed vehicle to steer away from the platform on the inside of the turn coming into the space although the coach was at the extreme outside of the turn entering the space. Mature shade trees are close enough to the driveways to limit where you can be in a space and still open the slides. The young man with the guide cart provides no assistance other than pointing at your parking space. Fire rings 2 to 3 feet both sides of drive way at extreme end of drive. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Susquehanna Trail Campground, Oneonta, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Greeted by owner upon arrival. Checked in by new employee who was cheerful and helpful. Owner directed everyone to their sites and assisted them with parking. Beautiful setting with mountains all around and framed on three sides by a creek with bass and trout. Unfortunately, we were only here for 1 night. Some of our group plan to return on their way back home. We camped at Susquehanna Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Privately owned, husband & wife team. Pleasant and thoughtful of campers. Well mowed grassy areas with shade at most campsites. 5oA or 30A sites with water and sewer available. Graveled roadways and camp site parking. Beautiful forest all around the campground. We are only here for 2 nights, wish we were staying longer. We camped at Pine Hollow Camprgound in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited Bennington potters. They are having their midnight madness sale tomorrow night, 21 July, with 70% markdown on many pallet loads of pottery. We will go to the Bennington Museum with its large collection of Grandma Moses paintings. Don't know if we will get to the Robert Frost Stone House Museum, the covered bridge museum, or the Bennington Battle Monument.

Camp Chautauqua, Stow, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were surprised by the 6PM checkin time with a $2/hour penalty for early arrivals. We had signed up for a 50 A site but received 30A. Check in is at the gated entry where you pay the balance for your stay beyond the deposit. The young woman at the gate was cordial. She was the only employee we ever met. There was a tight U-turn required to get to our camp area immediately after the entry gate. Trees and bushes overhung the entrance and exit drives making contact with the coach. The 30A plug receptacle arced and damaged my pigtail. There was noone available to talk to about that as we left. We camped at Camp Chautauqua in a Motorhome.

Camp Bell Campground, Campbell, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

The owners have been very helpful with our group of 9 rigs. Check in is efficient and thorough. Gravel drive ways to the camp sites are well maintained. Site access is easy with wider than usual pull through sites. There are also many backin sites. Some sites are shaded, some are not. There are pleasant playgrounds for children, a clean swimming pool, and even 10 horse shoe areas. We enjoyed use of one of the roofed shelters. We would stay again. We camped at Camp Bell Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed the Corning Glass Museum. The campground sells the normally priced admission vouchers for $13.50. We didn't have time for the Rockwell Museum or Watkins Glen State Park or the Watkins Glen race Track. There is a great restaurant for homemade ice cream about 1/4 mile from the RV Park.

The park is well kept and clean. Office staff is cordial and helpful. Access to campsites was easy with an escort to the site.
Gravel roads make it difficult to ride a bike. There s no dog park. Dogs must be kept on leash. We would stay there again.
We especially enjoyed a visit to the Thoroughbred Center and the Toyota plant. Both tours were exceptional and we learned a lot. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Clean, pleasant campground. Gravel roads and campsites. Site was level without need for leveling jacks. Swimming pool was open until 11:00 PM to allow late arrivals an opportunity to use all facilities. Good service from staff. We stayed only one night but wished we had more time to spend there. Pinecreek Campground, Newfield, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Large clean full hookup sites, shaded by large pine trees. Slides and swings for the kids. Washer and dryer. Graveled driveways at sites. It rained hard just before we arrived, The sites drained nicely. Camp store and lodge area. Lodge is available for rallies and use by other groups. All 6 in our group recognized this as the most pleasant campground in our month's travels through 11 states. The best part of our travel day after a 7 hour drive through heavy rain was the warm greeting by the owner when we arrived. Her warm smile reminded me of my favorite movie star, Doris Day. We look forward to an opportunity to return to this beautiful, restful place. We camped at Pinecreek Campground in a Motorhome.
