Smuggler's Den Campground, Southwest Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. Spacious sites. Staff is extremely friendly! Nice heated pool. My only complaint our site,#91, held water. They are freshly paved but we always had standing water. This campground would have received a 10 but the standing water was a drawback. We will definitely stay here again. Very well cared for facility. We camped at Smuggler's Den Campground in a Motorhome.

Sunsetview Farm Camping Area, Monson, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The camping options along this stretch of I-90 are very limited. We found this campground on an app we use. It's about 15 minutes off of the highway. The roads getting in are a little narrow but nothing to shy away from. There are different rates for 30 and 50 amp. My rate given was for 50 amp. After check in we were escorted to our site. Yes, the roads are bumpy but it is what it is. Just go slow. The staff was very helpful. They sure know how to pack the campers in here though...wow. Even though it looked like most sites had plenty of room I was amazed how they were arranged. Most are permanent. I thought the price was a little high considering what it was. Then again, you have very few options. Bathrooms were spotless but showers are $.25. Overall I guess it's not a bad spot just for an overnight stay. I was very happy that the site was big enough for our 38' motorhome and tow car. No need to unhook. We camped at Sunsetview Farm Camping Area in a Motorhome.

Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort, Charlotte, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

We had made reservations for Carowinds so we could stop on our way home for Florida. The staff upon arrival was very friendly and courteous. We pulled into our campsite got hooked up and went to the park. We were waiting on friends. They called and said they were hooked as well. The next morning they woke up with their camper completely loaded with ants. And I mean loaded. Now, I know you can get them anywhere camping but we found out this was a known problem. That came straight from the management. They thought it was under control. The ants were so bad that they got into their food and laundry. So he went back to the manager and they put them up in a cabin which I thought was very nice. But the problem I had was that they actually put another camper in the same spot within the hour. Unacceptable. Probably will not stay again, as we found out we had ants as well. We camped at Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort in a Motorhome.

Navarre Beach Campground, Navarre, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Overall a nice park. Once we registered we had an escorts to our site. Roads are narrow but more than manageable. There are a fewe full timers that bring the park down in my opinion. But not a deal breaker. Sires are close but we were out exploring most of the time so it was irrelevant to us. It is one of the cheaper campgrounds in the area. But it doesn't show it. Well kept, beautiful pool and great staff. We camped at Navarre Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground, Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Perfect overnight stay. Our site #5 was a little close to our neighbor but we really have no complaints for the price and full hook ups. Nice pool for the kids. I would stay again if traveling through. No need to unhook the toad if you don't need to. We camped at Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground in a Motorhome.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with a very picturesque setting. What I really liked about this particular CG is that it is centrally located to all major attractions in the black hills. It is priced higher than most but after touring the area I can see why. Most CG's we passed were very cramped. The pool was heated and they also have a hot tub. They have created a new section on the base camp area that is not yet on the map. This worked well as our 2 kids had ample room to play. Gravel sites were level. Very curtious staff. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the area. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Needles highway and the wildlife loop is a must! Take carrots with you on the wildlife loop. You can feed the burros. The rangers do approve this.

Jellystone Park on Barton Lake, Fremont, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

I have mixed emotions about this place. I can give it a 10 for fun factor. There are many seasonal campers at this campground which is fine. But all of the unsupervised kids is not. Had a hard time enjoying the water activities due to this. The "lifeguards" did not see this to be a problem. For the rate we paid, in my opinion, should have included all water activities. The water slides are extra. We also did not realize this park parallels with the highway. Our site was the last row the noise was tolerable but you knew you were next to a major highway. The pools were very clean along with the shower house but I did not use them. Nice park for the kids but a tic overpriced for the entire experience. We camped at Jellystone Park on Barton Lake in a Motorhome.

Creekside RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park!! Very clean and extremely quiet. We had a spot on the stream. Perfect at night with a fire and hearing the water. I was skeptical about this campground due to the pictures on the website....looked old and/or outdated, but it is a Passport America park and we did receive a free night for being a member. When we arrived I was happy in many ways. First off it is close to the parkway but tucked in off of a side road so you do not hear any road noise of any kind. Second, when we pulled in the campground looks very new. I believe the web site needs updated badly. It is very nice. Bath houses were exceptionally clean. Did not use them but took a look for the heck of it. Very nice pool and crystal clear. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did venture over to other campgrounds for the heck of it. And I will say this, Creekside would be my only choice of campground when visiting Pigeon Forge. We camped at Creekside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped here on our way to myrtle beach just for the night. You really can't ask for much more. Concrete pads that are level. Full hookups, heated pool, and a very friendly staff. I will definitely remember this CG for future travel. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.
