Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

front desk a little scattered but very friendly and helpful. Gravel sites. Adequately spaced, pretty level, grass in between. Wifi lacks when park is near full and needs upgrading. Excellent location for our 4 days of birding and site seeing Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills Forest. Laundry in 2 locations were nice, clean and efficient. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

River View RV Park, Fort Pierre, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park is not what the photos show. It is a graveled lot with about 18 spaces and a few short trees. It does have a great view of the Missouri River. Hookups are not spaced correctly and are very close together. All spaces do not face the river. You just get a side view unless you are parked in the last spaces to the east. Owner is helpful but new to the industry. He does answer his phone. He is planning an expansion.

The park is up a winding hillside but was not a problem. This affords the views. Very basic amenities. WiFi was good until thunder lightning storm took it out. We would stay here again as it met our needs. We camped at River View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bentsen Palm Village RV Park , Palmview, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort for two weeks. Rate is $600 per month. It is a huge park but the snowbirds are gone so we basically have the place to ourselves, very nice. Internet works great. Managers Don and Jeni are the best. Jeni even gives you her cell number! She is professional and very helpful.

Everything is kept in tip top shape and it is beautiful. We chose this park because it is near 5 of the 9 World Birding Centers in South Texas and within walking distance of the Bentsen WBC. We camped at Bentsen Palm Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA , Pescadero, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite place to stay in the Santa Cruz area. We have checked out and stayed in probably 10 other camps in the area. WiFi is excellent compared to most. Staff is excellent, couldn't be better. Some walking trails, near the ocean (plenty of foggy mornings/days) so is cooler than inland parks. The rate is high but the staff, surroundings and WiFi make up for it. This is a resort with the exception of no pool. The food is top notch. They also have a lodge for non campers, store, special event hall and great restaurant. You can rent fire rings and they have lots of green space for games. Reasons I did not give a 10 overall is no pool and closeness of sites but next time, we will get a deluxe site which is supposed to be more spacious. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

No frills but great overnight park. Can't beat if for the price. WiFi is browser based but worked ok. Lots of trees, your sat is not going to work most likely. But...it's Redding! You want shade in the summer! We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coyote Valley RV Resort, Morgan Hill, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Coyote Valley is our 2nd best RV stop near Santa Cruz. It is out of the rat race, has anything you need nearby in Morgan Hill, staff is helpful, spaces are great but close together, thus the 9 rating. WiFi was very good. We camped at Coyote Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park, Scotts Valley, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Not our kind of place. Cramped spaces, neighbors entry faced ours so thru us together so absolutely no privacy. Lots of kids so it was noisy as we were right by the pool. No place to walk outside park. Staff was extremely helpful and went the extra mile for us. Internet was not good. Sites were holy, not level. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cloverdale Healdsburg KOA Camping Resort, Cloverdale, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Nobody home! Drove, drove and drove to get to the location, not sure how many miles on narrow, sometimes gravel, windy country road up and down hills to get there. Once there, no one home, no nothing. Called the number on the door, answerer not much help. Pick a site that's open! Had called ahead also. Parked on a side of a hill, no view of anything but normal countryside with trees and a dry creek bed. Do not stay if just overnighting, too far off the highway. Way too much money for what you get, which, is just a hookup. We camped at Cloverdale Healdsburg KOA Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Winnemucca / I-80 KOA (formerly I-80 Winnemucca), Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is with GS discount. Overall, nice park. Staff seemed confused, long time to do little things but very friendly. Did not use pool but looked nice and clean. WiFi good but disconnects and slow at times. Sites barely adequate for 30' MH and Jeep. All connections good but cable TV local stations froze. We would stay again. We camped at Winnemucca / I-80 KOA (formerly I-80 Winnemucca) in a Motorhome.

Springville/Provo KOA , Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects KOA discount. Laundry clean and has side loading machines. Pool looked clean, but we did not use it. Internet very slow and many disconnects, no repeaters with many sites....need them! Sites are level, paved, with grassy sides. Whole park seemed scrunched. Noise level good, you can hear the train but not a sleepless encounter. I guess this park just changed hands but front office was very disorganized and frustrated with city ordinances. Pretty mountain backdrop, some shade trees. We camped at Springville/Provo KOA in a Motorhome.

Pagosa Springs RV Park, Cabins & ATV Rentals, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Rate includes tax and is GS discount. Nice and quiet, some tall trees, lakefront or riverfront. Site was a little sloping on the lake side. Pool is nothing to be excited about, above ground. Internet great but had a little trouble connecting sometimes. Very friendly hosts. You will like it. We camped at Pagosa Springs RV Park, Cabins & ATV Rentals in a Motorhome.

Albuquerque Central KOA, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects GS discount and tax. Nice clean park. Did not use pool or facilities. Sites were level, all paved. Internet is Tengo.I do have to say, it was better than the last times I have had to use them. Registration is a bear as usual but still signal dropping was continuous. Highway noise not an issue. Some shade trees. Pretty expensive compared to other parks. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Motorhome.

Hidden Valley RV Resort, Tijeras, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are so close together you do not have room to even sit out beside your RV. Dusty, lots of traffic in and out on both ends of site. Internet not working to our site. The front desk said they were working on another tower and would have it up the PM we came in. Never worked. On a hillside, dirt and gravel sites. Just was not our cup of tea and seemed expensive for what's offered. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.
