Timberline Campground, Waukee, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Loved the natural setting--roads have not been bulldozed into a "parking lot" scenario. Individual sites are fairly level. Fairly close to I-80 but no highway traffic noise! Pet park available but no grass--only rock in the fenced area. We camped at Timberline Campground in a Motorhome.

Hidden Lake RV Park, Ardmore, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Storm shelters aren't found in all parks, but when in Oklahoma, not a bad idea at all. They have one. Well maintained park with geese, fish pond, swimming lake, pool, store, etc. We camped at Hidden Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lil' Bit of Country RV Park, Strawberry Point, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

3rd stay and owners keep making the campground better. At least 16 sites, with 3 arranged for group camping. Some are pull-thru's, some back-ins. Very level sites. We had pull-thru with plenty of room for tow vehicle. Town has limited rooms available so this really fit our needs. Well maintained. We camped at Lil' Bit of Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hoot Owl Hollow Campground, Dubuque, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The campground itself is level and at the bottom of a "holler" or hollow. Swimming pool available, as well as tent sites. Office Building locked and you check in at site 1, which is the first trailer on right as you enter. Hoot Owls do exist as we heard several in the early morning hours. About half the sites are for seasonal rigs and the other half available for overnighters and weekenders. Park is approximately 5 miles off US Highway 20 on far west side of Dubuque. Less than 3 miles away is the Sundown Ski Resort (NW) and approx 3 miles east is Kennedy Shopping Mall. We camped at Hoot Owl Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

This is near Dubuque and the rolling hills can be hard on the engine and transmission, but can be navigated as it's 35 mph on the main roads.

Fort Mason City Park, Mason, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

City Park on edge of town with playground, rodeo grounds, High School football stadium and city golf course. Extremely clean, well spaced out. Almost all sites have full shade due to pecan and live oak trees. Grocery just down the road, along with several restaurants. On-site camp hosts extremely knowledgeable about local activities and helpful. This was fourth time to this park and each time has been nice. Pay in cash. We camped at Fort Mason City Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Bliss RV Park (Military FamCamp), El Paso, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We were attending a state-wide convention which was held downtown. Even though this is on the northeast side of town, it was only a 10-min drive to the convention center. The park is kept very clean. It is interesting how the wind storms can just whip up, so be on the lookout. We camped at Fort Bliss RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Broke Mill RV Park, Del Rio, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find, convenient to 2 major highways. We were headed back from Big Bend after a convention in El Paso. This time of year never know what will break down in our RV but pretty much use to that with all our miles. So, with no reservation, we pulled in and the office was closed. Mike stopped me before I went 6 steps after I pulled late arrival info on a Sunday evening. Went inside, took care of business, and drove straight to the spot. Same as the website said, didn't have to unhook toad (Jeep) as all sites very long and level. Will certainly be a repeat customer now since only 3 hours from home (this is Texas and took 2 days driving to get to El Paso). The only regret would be the lack of picnic tables, but we have our own portable. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Watts RV Park & Recreation Area, Gilmer, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Will love to return in a few years and see how it's changed: they are adding cabins to complement the cement pull-through slabs. Everything we saw was great except, like most of East Texas, be prepared to combat ants in the summer. Not far off a state highway but located in the country and secluded. Surprised more haven't found this campground. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Lincoln State Park, Lincoln City, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Great alternative location since the RV park at Rudolph Lake campground was full on the weekend. We stayed 4 nights; very busy on weekend and moderate on Monday & Tuesday. Staff always busy; bathrooms kept clean daily. Only concern we had was how fast people drove (up to 20 mph) with tons of children on scooters and bikes on the main roads. We camped at Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc., Forrest City, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for overnight stay while traveling, or if you have relatives/friends in the area. Easy in/out access. The host was outstanding. We had said we'd be late arrivals and he told us our site number on the phone. Due to highway construction not being as bad as they said, we arrived early. He came over, greeted us, but was also checking to make sure it was us and not someone else who just pulled into the slot. Food at Ole Sawmill Cafe was great also. Thanks!!! We camped at Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc. in a Motorhome.
