Chief Hosa Lodge & Campground, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Easy on/off from Interstate 70. Campsites are in a woodsy setting, and somewhat sloped, which makes leveling a challenge. Park staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Peaceful park despite the closeness of other campers. We would stay here again. We camped at Chief Hosa Lodge & Campground in a Motorhome.

Triple J RV Park, Russell, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Easy on/off from Interstate 70; near freeway, so some noise. Sites are gravel, level, and pull through. Good stop over park when traveling through. We have stayed here twice before and would stay again. Good restaurant called Fossil Station within walking distant with a good cheap pizza/pasta and salad bar buffet. We camped at Triple J RV Park in a Motorhome.

Border Inn RV Park, Baker, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient campground to visit the Great Basin National Park. The park is about 13 miles from the campground. This campground is just a basic place to park, it offers pull-throughs with full hookup on gravel and no shade. There is a store, gas station and restaurant on site. Good for a few days to stop over. We camped at Border Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carson Valley RV Resort, Minden, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is clean, with a very helpful friendly staff. To check in you stop at the kiosk and call the front desk, they assign you a site, then let you park and set up before going into the hotel to check in. In town, but quiet park and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The hotel restaurant has good food at a good price. The sites are blacktop and well marked and most have trees. We camped at Carson Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

One of the best KOA's we have stayed in. The sites are large and most of them in the shade. The staff was very friendly and showed us to our site. This campground was very clean and well kept. The location was very good for visiting Mt. Lassen National Park. We would stay here again. We camped at Mt Lassen / Shingletown KOA in a Motorhome.

High Sierra RV & Campground, Oakhurst, California

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park, with a very friendly staff. Most of the campsites are next to a stream. In town, but you do not feel like you are. The town is nice with several tourist things to do. It is the closest you can get to the south entrance of Yosemite. Drive to the park entrance is 16 miles, then the drive to the Village about an hour. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground, Healdsburg, California

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects extra $3.00 per day pet fee. Also for water & electric hookup only. This park is way overpriced. When I called to make a reservation I asked about a Good Sam discount, and they said they accept it, then when we arrived they said they do not. There is only a small pristine area for bigger campers. Right outside this area were beer bottle caps, broken glass and years worth of buildup of little bits of trash on the grassy area. Open trash bins were full of bees buzzing around. The water smelled and tasted bad. We will not stay here again. We camped at Alexander Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Kaweah Park Resort, Three Rivers, California

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Very beautiful clean park, with the river and trees. Convenient to Sequoia Park. Sites are close together an,d people were not cleaning up after their dogs. Only problem was the last night here: the park staff approved of a party in an empty camping site with loud music. It went on for 3 1/2 hours that ended up going a little past the quiet time. Not a good situation with campers in such close quarters. We camped at Kaweah Park Resort in a Motorhome.

Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park, Newberry Springs, California

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects discount because of water line problem. Nice friendly staff. Was told right away that there was no water and could break reservation to go to another campground. We stayed and enjoyed the pool and looked at the beautiful ponds. Truly an oasis in the Mohave. Clean park. Water line was fixed later in the evening. We would stay here again. We camped at Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Clean park, and friendly helpful staff. The area for dogs to run was dirt/rock, with poor fencing and torn green material hanging all around. Did not use that feature. We would stay here again. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Amarillo RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Big campground with gravel sites. Not a lot of shade. Convenient to Palo Duro Canyon and town. The camp sites are a little disorganized and the two young girls showing us to our site were very inexperienced. A gentleman from the park finally came over and put us in a site that we could actually pull into. We would stay here again. We camped at Fort Amarillo RV Resort in a Motorhome.
