Rawlins KOA, Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

The entire park is covered in large, slick, dirty gravel that made it impossible for my wife to use her roller / walker aid. I slipped and fell twice just moving around the camper so be careful. The park is basically inaccessible to people who need to use walking aids. Water and electric worked. All sites are unlevel - we had to stack two sets of blocks on one side. Highway noise is very bad all night. Internet access weak and sporadic. My site was sold as being 60 ft long and it's maybe 50. Unfriendly staff. Terribly overpriced. We camped at Rawlins KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Unlevel, gravel site. Wifi and utilities OK except as noted below. Decent location about 1 mile from the edge of town and 8 miles from Mesa Verde. This campground has their campsite's private sides facing each other, roughly 10 feet away so the picnic tables and fire rings are side by side. A very strange and unwelcome setup. Reserved and paid for a 50 amp site and received a 30 amp site plus an argument from the owner that we were wrong. When attempting to show the owner the KOA email confirmation showing 50 amp, he abruptly drove off. Over-priced and over-crowded sites. Will certainly not stay here again. We'll try Sundance RV park on our way back instead. Cheaper and better reviews. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Level paved sites, utilities ok, satellite reception ok, quiet from 10 - 6 but many children and partying young adults in between. Good value for the price. Five minutes from the village, restaurants, and many canyon views. The best, free shuttle system on Earth stops at the RV park every 15 minutes. Elk frequently walk around between campers. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We came from the north and the 30 mile long east entrance Hwy 64 from US-89 was not a problem for our 50 ft rig. Just slow way down when passing Desert Tower, etc.

Kaibab CampeRVillage, Jacob Lake, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Kaibab Camper Village - Jacobs Lake AZ - 2 stars Way out of level, dirt site, 30 amp max electric ran at 110 volts most of the time, other utilities OK, no satellite reception, no Internet or cell service. As other reviewers have noted, the office staff starts their introduction to the campground with "this is the only game in town" and then proceeds to describe a bunch of rules that they then do no enforce. Tight and steep sites with little space between sites. Overpriced but only campground with any utilities in the region. About a 1 hour drive to the North Rim visitors center. Would not stay here again. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

The drive on US-89A through the Vermillion Cliffs and over the Marble Canyon Bridge is spectacular. Piece of cake for our 50 ft rig.

Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort), Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Dirt / gravel site in the woods, not level, huge space between sites but often filled up with people in hammocks / tents, utilities ok, no satellite reception, no Internet or even cell service, quiet between 10 and 6, overpriced but 30 minutes from Jackson Lake. We had rain the afternoon and night before making us concerned about negotiating the sharp, dirt roads out of the park. Fortunately we got out without much problem. There is a diesel gas station on site along with a store and 1-star restaurant called Sheffields. The campground host was friendly and helpful - the staff in the lodge were not friendly and gave out incorrect information to us. Would stay here again. We camped at Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Level paved site, decent space between sites with grass, utilities ok, good satellite reception, good Internet and cell service, friendly / helpful staff, quiet, safe, overpriced but 5 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone. Very beautiful, high-end park. Would stay here again. Our little dog was in love with the thick, green lawns. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rocky Mountain RV Park, Gardiner, Montana

Overall Rating:

Level gravel site, a little on the tight side between sites with grass, utilities OK, good satellite reception, good Internet and cell service, office staff was not friendly or helpful, quiet, safe, overpriced but what a location - literally 5 minutes from the Roosevelt gate / entrance to Yellowstone and 15 minutes from Mammoth Springs. Would stay here again. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If traveling to West Yellowstone from here, avoid the headaches and construction driving thru the park and go back up to Bozeman to take the Gallatin Gateway / US-191 (assuming summer weather). Truly one of the most beautiful scenic drives.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Positives: best thing about this park is its location, 10 minutes from St Mary entrance, about an hour from Many Glacier and Two Medicine. Level site, utilities ok, satellite friendly, helpful office staff, diesel gas stations 5 minutes away. Negatives: besides being overpriced, this place was a construction zone with road construction equipment and lawn mowers going most of the time. They ran so many sprinkler systems that our water pressure was barely usable for several days. To exit our site, we had to maneuver back and forth to make the 120 degree turn out of our section. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Positives: 15 minutes to downtown depending on luck with all of the road construction, utilities ok, satellite friendly. Negatives: the usual KOA sardine can park layout, overpriced, site not level, sprinkler system comes on early afternoon and soaks your camper, vehicle and equipment every day, we had to rent a fire ring. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Billings Village RV Park, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Positives: beautiful, mature park with large grassy areas between sites and large trees. Very broad, paved streets and sites. Level, good utilities, clean, our site was satellite friendly, helpful office staff, close to diesel gas station, quiet, safe. Negatives: I didn't want to write this review like I don't want to tell anyone about my favorite fishing spot. This is a great park at a very good price.
