Wild Cherry Resort, Lake Leelanau, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful setting! On a previous golf club with lake. Owners outstanding and so friendly. We got a newspaper delivered to our picnic table everyday!! They picked up our trash everyday! Close to many, many wineries. Sutton Bay is two miles away...a quaint town on the lake. Close to Fishtown and To Sleepybear Dunes. We would have liked to stay longer...so nice and centrally located. Yes! Stay! We camped at Wild Cherry Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Eat at French Valley Winery on the lake...with outdoor eating areas, stunning views of beach and lake, and outside wine tasting. North of town. Get their yummy pizza and cheese plate...buy a botttle of wine and talk about, "love, passions and dreams"!

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are long and big, and mostly large pull-throughs. We stayed one night and then stored our Fifth wheel there behind a safe, gated fence. Will pick up in February when we head down to Florida. The manager is a real sweetheart...she left church to come back Sunday to let us in behind the gate to store. Then, back at home, I realized I had not opened fridge doors, so as not to get mold...and called the owner, who is so nice on the phone, and said he would take care of it and open the fridge doors. Also, they have a young man that will come and repair RVs...so we are having him come to the storage and winterize our RV for the winter, for a very reasonable price!!! Five stars for their service!!! Feel it's a great storage space. Clean grounds and well maintained. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

A Stone's Throw RV Park, Lamont, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

A great park for a one night spot!!! Some sites are on a slight slope (not very bad) and since we didn't unhitched we had NO problem...didn't need to level! There were some really big rigs that came in and they seemed to have no problem. The full hook-ups seemed new and worked very well. We stayed in a 33' Fifthwheel. Would come back. Nice and clean park! We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Road Runner Travel Resort, Fort Pierce, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

With about 450 camp sites...felt like a small fish in a big pond. Hate waiting till you get there for your site (we stayed a month.) Lots of Four month people and longer...they get first choice.

Women at front desk need to be more informed about events and activities...(they didn't know if signed up for Valentines Day party, dress or what to bring.) Other activities

too...some were downright cranky...some ignored customers.). (But....V.DAy party was awesome!)

People are friendly..French more reserved...but think a lot don't speak English.

We were excited about a Hot Dog Roast Sunday...went there. Found out you had to bring own hot dogs (and condiments!). So cheap!!! No potlucks. No morning coffees.

It is close to "cool" Vero Beach and beaches!!!

Our site had concrete and grass, mostly shady, and included a picnic table and patio.

No wireless for over two weeks. Wanted a refund...but no. Also charged $5.00 a day for Internet. Would not stay there again. We camped at Road Runner Travel Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Waldo's happy hour in Vero Beach...right on Beach! We loved going to Little Jim's Bait and Tackle for their afternoon local bands and cheap beer...on the North Bridge.

Drive to Stuart, Fl. Quaint town! Pineapple Joes is a fun local restaurant...great food and prices. Last night for our treat went to "Ocean Grill" in Vero Beach...worth every dollar!!! Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat was awesome!

Whispering Palms RV Resort (55+ park), Sebastian, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Clean park. It's a bit of a large mega park. If you are staying nightly or weekly, you will most likely be put into sites that are like a parking lot. We felt surrounded by RV's and sitting outside was like being squished by them. Lots a seasonals here with really nice places and nice RV sites in the middle, interspersed with mobile homes.

We were in lot 12, a pull-thru, for a week. Glad it was no longer. But on a positive side, excellent location to see sights and a beautiful drive to Vero Beach along the island road. Only five miles to beautiful beaches too. Great waterfront restaurants in town.

Lady at checkout seemed to do just what she had to do. We had to ask about good Sam discount, and if there were any activities, and then if we could get a calendar of them. Lots of activities. Not too many RV resorts around Sebastian so this is probably the one to stay at. Ask to be in middle of sites. On the West side trains go by and they are close to the tracks! We camped at Whispering Palms RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to eat a Grouper Reuben at Crab-E Bills! We had locals recommend this and they were right on! Also had fun at the Tiki Bar in the beach road. Vero beach is a quaint, beachy-type town.(expensive shops). About 10 miles south. Take island road.

We went two times to the restaurant Woody's Driftwood Inn. Great to sit outside and see the beach and sip a cold one!
