Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

WOW! This is a really fine place to stay for overnight or longer if you are touring the area! The staff that greeted us at nearly 7 pm was exceptionally nice and helpful! The roads were very easy to navigate, the dump station was very nice, the wifi worked! There were "enough" tv stations. We had very adequate space around us. You cannot beat THIS price for a nice rv park anywhere! AND on top of that, we had $4 off to MC and a free cup of coffee! We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Port A RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

FANTASTIC staff from front office to grounds and maintenance. These people worked long hours with a generous heart to accommodate almost 80 of us who came to Port A to assist in rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Harvey. The Community room and the kitchen are wonderful, the pool and hot tub divine, the grounds are immaculate. This is a favorite RV park for us. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Steamboat Rock State Park, Electric City, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We just drove up without reservation on a July Sat in late afternoon -- just hoping maybe there would be a space. There was no full hookup or any hookup available, but the VERY VERY nice office staff worked to get us a site. One staff person drove over to the site to be sure that a tent site would accommodate our 32 ft rig and tow car. And of course we were in agreement to take a "no facilities" site. Out mhome has an inverter and propane and can boondock nicely. The July evening cooled waaay down with sunset. The place is beautiful- an oasis in the arid central WA area. The grounds are exceptionally well kept. It was a very busy state park, but that was no issue-- everyone was nice and quiet hours were perfect. We camped at Steamboat Rock State Park in a Motorhome.

What a fabulous place for water sports, for hiking, and biking, and relaxing. Don't come expecting wi-fi or cell service (that can be a good thing). Be sure to visit Grand Coulee Dam and Dry Falls State Park!. Bring fishing license, or you;ll have to drive about 15 miles to get one.

Tomahawk RV Campground, Sioux Narrows, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

LOVED this park and location! Wonderful office staff, same with marina! Family operated. We were moderately close to the lake and put our kayaks in both days-- even in the rain. There were a significant number of park models around us but the entire place was tidy and well cared for. There is a great beach, swimming dock, reading gazebo on the water, marina that rents boats and sells bait, VERY GOOD LAUNDRY, beautiful place. They even sell fishing license. It rained heavily for several hours, so we would have wished they had made the pad gravel (if not concrete) because we had to deal with very muddy surroundings. Wi-fi was non-existent, cell service was not available, nor was there tv. But who cares at this lake! It was very hard to leave. We camped at Tomahawk RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Rivers Provincial Park, Rivers, Manitoba

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this place.... this is NOT a resort rv park, but a great outdoor camping experience! Our site was very spacious and private. Firewood is PROVIDED FREE! The lake was close by and just wonderful. We arrived too late to put in our kayaks, but boat access was easy. The office closes very early in the afternoon (our only mark on the service that was a negative) because it is very hard to get information and the pass that signs say MUST be on vehicle at all times. We camped at Rivers Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

friendly staff, nice grounds, good location for shopping or casinos, good facilities, very spacious, good site pad, nice grass, very good shade! Downside: our site was up against the freeway and there was LOTS of highway noise and sirens. **if this is going to be a problem to you or your pets, you should ask for an inner site. ***There is one speed bump that is VERY high and even creeping along, we drug our landing gear. ** BE WARNED- or you will ruin your levelers. There are a significant number of full-timers (which is fine) but the park appearance would be greatly improved if there were more stringent rules regarding maintenance. Many of the full-timers has cluttered yards, and unsightly weather skirts, etc. This is really a very nice park-- and this one improvement would make a world of difference. You can live on a tight budget and still keep your place tidy. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lavonia COE, Lavon, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful lake and #13 is a perfect campsite EXCEPT it is one of a few that doesn't have sewer. **THE world's grumpiest gateman EVER. RUDE! This man does NOT need to be working with the public. He was rude and hateful to each one of the adults in our party at different times. The gate closes at 10 and NO MATTER what, you will walk in. You could be returning from the ER and have a new cast on, and you'd have no suitable excuse in the gateman's mind. (but that was not all he was rude about!). There was one that worked under him that was fairly nice. Great site amenities. We camped at Lavonia COE in a Travel Trailer.

Angler's RV Retreat, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

My goodness! What a very friendly and accommodating place! We were last minute to reserve a place and ended up arriving 2 hours past the time we expected. It was dark and around 10:00 but the owners were right there with their friendly faces and flashlights to help us back in. Then they and a couple camping there visited with us and helped answer any questions about the area-- We had a classic/vintage/restored camper and they were all very interested in it. We had a great time visiting and they were all super helpful. This is a very nice place, and not too large to have lost the personal touch! We will definitely return. We camped at Angler's RV Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Buffalo Springs Lake, Lubbock, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

WOW! despite the other reviews, we chose to stay here and had a completely different experience. So, looking at the fact that we were there "off season" vs the reviews in summer... there must be a big difference in having lots of traffic and messy campers in the summer. We found the place to be very clean and pleasant. There was no trash all around, the water was nice, the fishing was fun and pleasant.
There were a lot of big rigs there and most all of us had some problem with getting leveled (we had to try 5 sites to get one where we could level--- arriving in the dark made it harder). The other rigs had obviously used levelers as well as boards to shore up the rig to level.
The woman running the entrance the night we arrived was very nice; the woman the next day was rude and downright hateful.

Highly suggest NOT driving on around the lake thru the residential area with a motorhome and ESPECIALLY if towing--- very narrow and tight.

We can hardly wait to return and have a boat or kayak with us.
We got local tv (plenty of channels) but had almost no cell service-- Verizon : none, Grandson's ATT was always at 1 bar. We camped at Buffalo Springs Lake in a Motorhome.

Sands Motel & RV Park, Carrizozo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Rating should be about 4 and mean "just ok"-- would find no reason to stay here other than a quick stop over.

The woman running the office was very nice. The "laundry" is two home machines and you pay her $4 per load to wash and dry (not bad but fortunately it was outrageously cold and windy and not many people--- so didn't have to share the machines with anyone).

Nothing much in the small town . Trains were right across the road (I love the sound of a train, so it wasn't a big bother to me... but to let you know that you will hear trains off and one thru the night). We camped at Sands Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We boondocked at Pasture Lake location and it was GREAT wishing with Grandkids. (wanted to fish at Devils Inkwell but holy cow! there is NO way you would DARE let grandkids loos there as it is nearly a sheer cliff to go down!)

We had a great time but the only (really serious) issue was the unbelievable amount of stickers (goatheads) with even two steps outside. They were tracked in with dogs and shoes.

We'd definitely go back as a stop over on a trip or an additional time after Carlsbad. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

not much on landscaping or looks... checked in and were told about the pool, but within 30 minutes (and at 4:30 in the afternoon) it was locked and we couldn't use it after getting the grandkids all excited and ready for swimming (so the question is: WHY did she tell us about the pool and location but not tell us that it wasn't going to be open?

just ok as a place to stay before sightseeing. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a GREAT place to stop with the kids or grandkids and let them enjoy the sledding on the sand. We went right after a rain, turns out that is perfect conditions! The office staff is GREAT *IF* you get K.C. - the female staff person is very cold and unfriendly. The supt and K.C. are really terrific. The place was clean. The space between campsites is good. Hookups were good. Highly recommend as an overnight stop or a destination. We camped at Monahans Sandhills State Park in a Motorhome.
