Normandy Farms, Foxboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Very busy campground and usually full in the summer. We had to stay an extra night due to an issue with the 5th wheel. They made arrangements for us to do that. We did have to move out site though. Great family campground! We camped at Normandy Farms in a Fifth Wheel.

Moose River Campground, Jackman, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night and didn't see a soul until we left and there was someone in the office. It looks like a lot of summer campers - but there was no one around. Lots of mosquitos. Somewhat rundown. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Leisure Lake Membership Resort, Joliet, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking forward to staying here - but are quite disappointed. The site has very little shade. More importantly the staff could not be less involved or interested in us. I phoned trying to get the wifi code and the man who answered was actually rude in giving me the code. They have no interest in helping us find out about things to do in Chicago. Before we arrived I had called ahead to confirm our reservation and asked about transportation to Chicago. The answer was "we don't know". Would not stay here again. We camped at Leisure Lake Membership Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Front Royal RV Campground, Front Royal, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This place is old and rundown. It used to be a KOA. My electricity kept going out. The owner came and replaced the unit inside the box - which was so full of leaves and cobwebs that I had to go get my canned air to clean it out. He was trying to use a screwdriver. The road was so bad going out that my rear bumper hit and destroyed one of my bumper hatch covers. The grounds are run down and old. I'm not sure I would recommend even for a one-nighter. We camped at Front Royal RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Misty Mountain Camp Resort, Crozet, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night but were extremely impressed. Roomy pull-through in the shade. Good WiFi, good cable. Well stocked store both for RV needs and general camping. Very quiet. We don't have children but there is PLENTY for them to do. Pool with spraying fountains, jump pad (like a large trampoline), playground and beach volleyball. We didn't use them but the shower rooms were very clean and private. The laundry room was very clean. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sourdough Campground, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here twice within the last 5 weeks. Next season, it will be under new ownership, and we have met the new owner, a very cool guy, who knows a lot about RV repair. The grounds and facilities are well maintained. There is a small café on the premises that serves sourdough pancakes for breakfast, as well as casual lunches and dinners. Every night, in the covered gathering place, there is a pancake toss, which is a hoot. The owner gets everyone who comes involved and it is so much fun. There is a campfire and often there is live entertainment by local talents. High pressure vehicle wash is available, sites are widely spaced, level, and shaded. This place is popular with tent camping groups, maybe because of the covered table area, but also because the management is actively involved with their guests and very welcoming. We would definitely camp here again, and highly recommend the Sourdough. We camped at Sourdough Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Have to say this is the best KOA we've ever visited primarily because of our site. We were in site 157. Sites 156, 157, and 158 are awesome. Grass in front of you and then a beautiful view beyond. No other RV within 50 feet. Even if we were not in these sites we would have liked this park. It's about a mile off the highway so it is quiet. There is a small pool and two hot tubs. A staffer come around every evening to see how we are doing and to offer to pick up things for us. To get these great sites I'm sure you have to reserve ahead of time and ask for them. Two were pull-through and one was a back-in. The staff was very friendly and the store seemed well stocked. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Clearwater / Wells Gray KOA, Clearwater, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The KOA at Clearwater is a very versatile “campground”. It has lots of places for RV’s, trailers, cabins, and Condo units. WiFi was OK, not great. Most sites were separated by shade trees and bushes and fairly level. They have a decent supply store, and a restaurant. The perimeter has a safety electric fence keeping bears out. The entrance gate is closed at 10pm, also keeping bears out. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good place to stay for white water rafting, and touring Wells Gray Park – a must to visit in this area. We camped at Clearwater / Wells Gray KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada), Jasper National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. We had elk roaming through our campsite several times. The full service sites are really spaced well and we never felt crowded. We were here during the horrible Southern Alberta floods and had to change our plans. Though the park was 'full', the staff helped us find a spot for a few days waiting to see if we could travel toward Lake Louise - didn't happen and we rerouted to Golden, BC. This is a HUGE campground - but we never felt overwhelmed by it. It's very close to Jasper (a great little town) and the Jasper Tramway. It's about an hour away from the Columbia Ice Fields - another must if you are in the area. We recommend Whistler. We camped at Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.
