Shenandoah Valley Campground, Mount Jackson, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was a Friday over night in June 2018. VA HWY 81- Exit 269 and a mile or so on Caverns Road turning on Industrial Park Road. Check in was at their Campground Office/General Store/Snack Shop. It housed a cool assortment of items. I did see a propane refill area in front of the store. The campground roads and sites were gravel. Our site (P-3) was level; FHUs included 50 amp/30Amp services, cable connection, picnic table and a grassy area between the sites. The campground offered many amenities and was pet friendly. The campground is the first property on Industrial Park Road and Highway 81 passes parallel with the back side of the property. Our site was at the front of the campground and the highway noise was surprising low. I never saw a heavy presence of trucks or vehicles headed down Industrial Road. Shenandoah Caverns is just around the corner from the campground. We would stay here again. We camped in our 33 ft. Fifth Wheel, $46.44 with our Good Sams discount. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground was a great base camp for the Mount Jackson, New Market and Luray areas. Fuel was competitively priced at the gas station inbetween the ramps. Made it incredibly easy to fill up that evening and pull out early the next morning.

Leesville Lake Campground , Gretna, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Leesville Lake Campground 3129 Gallows Rd Gretna, VA (434) 818-1177 This was an overnight stop for us on Memorial Day 2018. The campground is 12 miles off HWY 29 BUS and a stones throw from the Leesville Dam #7 Boat Ramp. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the owner and checked in fairly quickly. The campground is located on both sides of Gallows Road with the office, bath house and pool on the left hand side as you arrive. All the campground roads and sites are gravel and the sites around the office are on a hill, yet I never had to throw the truck into four wheel to get our 33 foot fifth wheel around. Our campsite (Number 1) was level and had woods between us and the next campsite. The campground is Full Hook Up (50/30/20 Amp). The area had plenty of Broadcast TV Channels. The majority of campers looked seasonal, but I was impressed that the campground was neat and clean. We never used the facilities, but a quick look after checking in at the bath house, laundry room and pool area revealed that they were just as clean. A lot of friendly families and the campground was quite as darkness fell. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Leesville Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Alliance Hill 50 Plus RV Resort, Marianna, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

8.5 miles off I-10. We over nighted here. This is a gated park and you need to call ahead for availability. There are several restrictions including age of RVers and rigs. The owner met us and escort us to our site. The park's literature states that it is an Adult RV Park, dedicated to RVers 55+ years. The literature also contained information on several places of interest in the area. The campground consisted of 14 sites total at this time with a lot of land to develop. Paved road in, the sites are hard packed gravel with concrete patio pads. The club house was well furnished with a great living room area, a laundry room with 2 washers, 2 dryers, long folding table and a utility sink. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. A common kitchen area was also included. A kidney shaped pool to relax in directly to the rear of the building and a grilling area as well. Past the campsites is a dog run pen, yet we had plenty of interior roadways to walk our two beagles. The sites are roomy, plenty of space between neighbors. My personal favorites were how clean and how quite this place is. We camped at Alliance Hill 50 Plus RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Falling Waters State Park, Chipley, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The park was clean and just finished some upgrades and repairs prior to our arrival. Some construction barricades still exist but posed no real interference to daily camping life. Our gravel site was a little un-level, we added 3 and 1/2 inches to the entry side and it was camp on! The park was pet friendly except for the swimming area. We enjoyed the friendly service from all and in the evenings the park was quite. We stayed here with our two beagles and would stop here again. We camped at Falling Waters State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Florence Marina State Park, Omaha, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Park was very clean. It featured areas to bank fish from, had a cool putt-putt course and boat ramps inside the park. RV spots were more level than most, had no issues with the full hook ups or cable connection. We travel with our own wifi, so I can not comment on theirs. The park store was stocked with the basics and the store employees, park rangers and the camp hosts were all very friendly and helpful. After the park store closes in the evening, the host opens a satellite store in the campground offering items like firewood and Ice. We traveled here with our two beagles and would stay here again! We camped at Florence Marina State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Green Creek Inn & RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I was leery in staying here after reading the previous reviews. The laundry room, restrooms, and showers were very clean, My congrats to the staff. A concession stand by the office had good eats at reasonable prices. Wi-Fi was great, but there are no cable or air TV channels. The RV park is nine sites in a line on the west side of the property. Tow vehicle parking can be difficult, but not impossible. The pet area are on the west and south sides and is limited. I walked across the highway to Road 6Cu, a gravel road that proceeded north for a mile and ends at a WY Anglers Access to the Shoshone River. Mentioned in a previous review was a structure that 'looms' over the RV park. The Smith Mansion didn't bother us at all. As far as all the banter about the owner, we used this as a base camp to Yellowstone. Out early, in late and never experienced any problems with the owner. One warning. The office is closed from 12 pm - 2pm. Show up in between and prepare to sit in the driveway and wait. We camped at Green Creek Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Deer Park Campground, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute we were here. We stayed in a king site (001), and our beagles can recommend the well manicured grass and cottonwood trees that shaded the space nicely. The staff was helpful and knowledge in all respects. Bathrooms were clean, although the shower stalls were smaller than normal. We saw deer and wild turkeys travel through the park daily, plenty of places to walk our two beagles. Really enjoyed the ice cream social nightly. Met some great campers and swapped stories of the road. Downtown Buffalo, home to The Occidental Hotel is a must for visiting, as well as exploring Crazy Woman Canyon and the Big Horn National Forest. We camped at Deer Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Big Pine Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week, reserving a site to accommodate our two beagles who travel with us. Bathrooms and showers were clean, and the staff was as helpful in all respects. Firewood delivered to your campsite, and the general store had just about everything one could want. Our beagles enjoyed long walks at this pet friendly campground. Located a couple of miles outside Custer, we traveled to all the major attractions with ease. We would stay here again! We camped at Big Pine Campground in a Travel Trailer.
