Rusty's RV Ranch, Rodeo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Previous reviewers have covered key points about this park. Management is very helpful. A lovely area for birding, the park includes a viewing pond with ornamental waterfowl. Main concerns: As a Passport America customer, our site did not have a patio. Also, note that after the first night at $13.20, PPA users pay an additional electricity fee, in our case, $8.00 per day for 50 Amp. We found this to be expensive, especially since we could not take advantage of 50 Amp service. When running one air conditioner and our small refrigerator the voltage dropped to 111 with nothing else running. We camped at Rusty's RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Carlton RV Park, Carlton, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We had hoped to stay at this RV Park, and reserved a site the previous day. However, when we arrived and hooked up at our 30 Amp site, our voltage meter displayed 104 volts with NO appliances or anything on. We tested the system by briefly turning on our electric hot water heater, which dropped the voltage to 98. We tried plugging in to the adjacent vacant site. The same problem occurred. Although the camp host was very pleasant, he acknowledged that campers who "use a meter" have said that before (i.e. that the voltage is too low). Kindly, we explained we could not stay and risk our electrical appliances and we relocated to another campground in the area. We camped at Carlton RV Park in a Motorhome.

SeaWind RV Resort, Riviera, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We agree with the last reviewer that this is a hidden gem. We stayed 3 nights and found the park to be amazingly quiet and clean. Our site was paved (oldish) and level. This is a county managed park, and resides within/adjacent to Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park, which is on Baffin Bay. Lovely area. We would stay here again. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great birding area. Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park is listed as the number one birding hotspot for Kleberg County, according to Cornell's e-bird.

River Bend Resort and Golf Course, Brownsville, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 10 nights at this park and especially appreciated the quiet location, away from interstates and busy roads. The park is clean, secure, and everyone was friendly. Compared with some other parks that we checked out in this area, this park was hands down much nicer. It is centrally located for many of the birding sites we visited. The main clubhouse is ~ 1/8th mile away, and is where the showers and restrooms are located. The only wifi, which worked so-so was at the clubhouse. Our rate reflects one week at weekly plus 4 nights at $28/night. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at River Bend Resort and Golf Course in a Motorhome.

Almond Grove Mobile Home Park, Williams, California

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Our primary complaint about this park is the horrendous entrance and exit roads. The dip with each is VERY significant - there are many scrape impressions in the town road macadam as well as the park pavement. The hitch on the back of our motorhome scraped on the way in (the toad car was already detached). In order to exit when we departed and assure we wouldn't scrape we placed many planks in the dip. As far as the park itself, the check-in personnel were friendly. The restrooms are old, but the fixtures are okay and the showers nice and warm. The laundry was clean. Due to the hassle and worry about potential scrape damage, we would not stay here again. We camped at Almond Grove Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.

Agree with last review. We had no problem fitting our 33' RV and toad in site 11 and found this to be a lovely, quiet setting. Host tends lovely flowers at his site. We would camp here again. We camped at Bluebill Campground Forest service in a Motorhome.
