Cartier Park Campground, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park to stay at. Full hook ups, and also electric/water & primitive sites, something for everyone's camping experience, mostly level. Location is very good if you're going fishing on the big lake (or right at the campground), perfect if you are heading out on the Badger in the morning and need something close. Fishing at the campground (we don't fish so can't tell you how good it is). We love the Ludington area & Cartier Park is a great place to camp. We camped at Cartier Park Campground in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

The shopping of downtown Ludington is just a couple miles away, lots of very nice shops and excellent places to eat. (Chuckwagon Pizza is short walk from the campground and wonderful pizza if you don't want to cook!!) Downtown Ludington is very nice for shopping. Lots of things to do in the area, visit the State Park (costs to get in if you don't have recreation pass) and visit the lighthouse or walk the dunes.

Shipshewana Trading Place RV Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent campground for visiting Shipshe!! You must be self contained!! There is NO showers or bathrooms available!! The full hook up back in is $27 a night and pull thru's are $33. They have sites with no hook ups for $12 for back in and $18 for pull thru, excellent for the quick, safe overnight place to lay your head!! We love this park for the simple reason is located right at the Flea Market and within easy walking distance to downtown, for shopping or food!! The reasonable price is awesome for the area, as many of the other places charge way more & you have to drive to get to town or the flea market! They take NO reservations, it's first come, first served, most sites are gravel & level. We are usually the smallest rig in here, lots of BIG motorhomes enjoy this place and it is set up to handle them. We camped at Shipshewana Trading Place RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the flea market on Tues or Wed....the rest of the week, downtown shopping or visit the many Amish that sell anything you would want. Excellent area. Please remember the Amish do not like to be photographed and the whole area (other than the gas stations) are closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly.

Very nice park, right on the St Joe River, just down from the dam. New restroom/shower building is very nice. Nice sites in both the new part & the older part. We stayed in the newer part in our pop up truck camper w/ our 2 dogs. By 11:00 pm on a Saturday night it was QUIET!!! We will go back here!!! We camped at Shamrock Park in a Truck Camper.

Timber Creek, Branch, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice rustic campground. Great place to pull off and stay when traveling across US 10. Near the trailhead for the North Country Trail. Few people use this campground and we had it to ourselves when we camped here. We camped at Timber Creek in a Fifth Wheel.
