Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Was very impressed by the convenience offered by a "KOA Journey." Wish there were more like this. Right off I-75 and easy to pull in to hook up. Right off 75 yet it felt quiet. Very clean and neat. Large, fenced and grassy dog park plus other dog walk areas. About 45 miles north of Marietta. Far away enough for a quiet, restful stop just outside Atlanta area. Restrooms and showers had colorful walls (red) and spotless. We camped at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA, Sweetwater, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This was an exceptional KOA. Guided to site, very nice welcome by staff, easy hook ups. We were so tired southbound from Maine to FL, stayed 2 nights. Great laundry facility, pet park and just very pretty. Enjoyed visiting antique shops in town and did marketing at local Walmart. Very easy access to I-81. We camped at Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient for one night stay. Easy on/off from highway. Easy to pull in and set up, and enjoyed seeing farm animals grazing on hillsides surrounding RV Park. RV sites were close together but clean and easy hook ups. If we were staying in area longer, would choose nearby RV park, Pioneer Village, which is very beautifully landscaped but not as convenient for overnight stay. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived in bad rainstorm. The adjacent creek was very high, muddy and flowing quickly. A little scary. Noticed no RVs in row adjacent to water. Site was nice but a little close to others. Store well stocked. And pizza delivered by KOA staff delicious. Farm animals in cutesy, fenced areas. Playground, other amenities. Everything lovely just felt a little crammed in with all this. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Motorhome.

Pleasant Hill Campground, Hermon, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Great location near Harvey's RV where we took RV for repair when transfer switch blew. Just a few minutes off highway. Lots of green space and room between sites. Quiet and peaceful setting. Playground, not sure about doggie park but if anyone needs a clean, pretty site near Harvey's, highly recommend. Not too far from Maine Mall, restaurants, supermarkets, shopping although I did not see anything right around park. We camped at Pleasant Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

Black Bear Campground, Florida, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $81.00
Overall Rating:

Easily accessible near Newburgh from 84 heading east from New England. Our site was on hill in a pretty and quiet setting with nice views. Very large property with areas still forested and other areas cleared. Ample space between sites and some grass. Saw lots of deer. Enjoyed pool although we had to disconnect to drive to pool as our RV was up the hill. Folks without mobility issues cop an go down a trail to pool near office and then walk back up. Seems like the RV parks I this area are all high. Only negative was employee made us sign in and then sat there, waited until 7, citing he had to lock up pool to treat it. The pool was lovely, it was hot day and would have stayed longer except for this. Bathrooms were spotless, modern, good lighting. Perfect for one night stay. Would stay longer in the future. We camped at Black Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

The Bluffs RV Resort (50 + Park), Freedom, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

NOTE: ONLY AVAILABLE WEEKLY RATE. This is a beautiful 55+ RV park adjacent to the Danforth Bay Resort. We loved the concept, the 2 pools for adults only (one lap, one heated), plenty of shade for folks avoiding sun and clubhouse with activities. Only negative is we were assigned an awful site in a row facing storage a lot farther from everyone else and down a hill. There was gravel only, no trees or privacy hedge and really ugly. For people not coming for season. The seasonal RVers had lovely sites near the clubhouse with trees, some landscaping between sites. At neighboring Danforth Bay, beautiful beaches, kayaks, canoes and a dog park being built. Wish they provided more convenient dump location. We had to drive there with garbage. Store was great, and staff super. Would return if we had a nice site near others for socializing. We camped at The Bluffs RV Resort (50 + Park) in a Motorhome.

Not far from Ossippee with good markets, health food oriented market, tavern, restaurants or Conway, North Conway with lots of fine shopping, outlet mall, markets and more. Loved auto road tour up to MT Washington, the "Kan" highway, Lake Winnipausaukee. The bay feeds into Lake Ossippee with really reasonable canoes, kayaks and SUP too!

Red Apple Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely, well designed, cheerful campground. Spacious site with lots of grass and trees. Not too private with views of many park models and long stay campers but plenty of room. Heated salt water pool with "adults only" hours 4-6. Terrific wifi with enough for ALL our devices (5). Staff take great pride in maintenance and offer good suggestions for restaurants and shopping. Dog park grassy, fenced in and clean. Laundry room modern with good lighting, new machines and spotless. Very convenient to Kennebunkport and shopping. They even deliver steamed lobster to the site! Stayed 3 nights and wish we could stay longer. Not far from Kittery Outlets or Freeport Outlets for shoppers! We camped at Red Apple Campground in a Motorhome.

Kittery outlets, Freeport outlets, Kennebunkport. Ate at Federal Jacks with beautiful views from upstairs dining room overlooking harbor and good beer. Owners raved about food truck for lobster rolls. NOTE: Must pay by check or pay cash. No credit cards but worth the money to stay here. Great playground and dog park too. Would definitely stay here long term if we could. They even encourage recycling and use proceeds to donate to local childrens cancer fund.

Beaver Pines Campground, Woodstock, Connecticut

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely, woodsy campground. Looks like mostly long term residents but they keep a few spots for nightly campers like us. Very pleasant owners who gave helpful suggestions about Sturbridge restauants. Right near Sturbridge and far superior to campgrounds we saw in Sturbridge several years ago. Everything worked great and wished we could have stayed longer. We camped at Beaver Pines Campground in a Motorhome.

Owners made us feel very welcome and loaned us parts to connect properly to utilities on the site. Would stay again as it is very close to Sturbridge with lots to do both in town and nearby areas. Not far from I-84 and owners told us easier way to get back on heading north to Maine.

Deerpark / New York City NW KOA, Godeffroy, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Have KOA membership and have stayed in many KOAs across US. This one disappointed. Office employee rude. We wanted to use our rewards points. When we called prior to check in, employee on phone told us he did not know how to use computer software to enter info and to wait to check in to apply. Office employee said that was wrong, and that she could enter info because fee had already been posted. Told us to contact Corporate to fix it. Had to wear green wristbands. No security. Utility poles crooked. Teen employee driving around with huge trailer attached to cart all hours. Kids on bikes riding around late at night. Lots of night noise from noisy campers. Sites had no lighting nearby at night. Wanted to buy firewood and was told we had to carry it to site unless we bought 5 bundles. The bright spot was employee with golf cart (not the teen), who saw us outside and graciously offered to carry it. He also guided us to spot and helped us position motorhome. Wifi timed out every 30 minutes with a "one device per site limit." Do not stay here unless desperate as we were for a spot after a long drive from WV. Far from I-84 and directions given to us by campground were scary. Overpass was 2" higher than our motorhome! We camped at Deerpark / New York City NW KOA in a Motorhome.

We had to camp in overflow area near road due to late arrival. Utilities great. Owner very pleasant. Very close to highway. We were able to refill propane tank. Also a U Haul facility. Good for one night stay near I-81. Pizza place delivered pizza to site. Would stay again if passing through area because it was very convenient. We camped at Falling Waters Campsite in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Village Campground, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Most gorgeous campground we stayed at on way to Maine from Florida. Chose it because it was near I-81 north of I-77. Sites were beautifully designed. Spacious, paved, grass and trees between sites. The restrooms featured spacious, spotless, modern showers. Good lighting. The owners take great pride in maintenance. Enjoyed walking the trails around the campground after a long drive. I wished we could have stayed longer. We camped at Pioneer Village Campground in a Motorhome.

GSP RV Park, Greer, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Open, gravel site in middle of parking lot style campground. Chose it for close proximity to visiting family. Everything worked fine but with 95 degree weather in full sun made it very difficult to stay in unit during day. For those traveling with dogs, the dog park was grassy, fenced in and very clean. Very quiet. Most nearby units were for working people. A little far from highway. We camped at GSP RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Gorgeous site on small hill with view of lake and mountain. Woodsy and pretty view of lake and mountain. Park staff helped us back motorhome onto site. Lots to do inside the park. Grounds well maintained and clean. Stores, restaurants, etc. outside park entrance as well as some inside the park. Expensive but pretty. Had to pay 15. parking fee for stay plus nightly fees. Only problem jacks did not fully extend; had to use blocks. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Augusta / Gardiner KOA, Richmond, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely, woodsy, KOA with spacious sites. Staff very friendly. Quiet area just south of where 295 and 95 meet. Staff escorted us to site and offered help. Activities like bingo, ice cream social, etc. staff even took people back to site after evening activities over as it is dark. Great place to stay to rest or trips to lakes and other areas inland as well as coast. No restaurants or stores nearby. Suggest bringing food before you come. A little hilly but level sites. Nature walks and dog walk area. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Travel Trailer.
