Mississippi River State Park, Marianna, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Newer State Park on Eastern Border of Arkansas. It is ~ 1.5 hours from Memphis. There are not many sites in the CG, but they are all beautiful - and FHU! We were in space 4, which was on a peninsula in a lake. Plenty of space between sites. Cell and Dish were fine. There is a nice hiking trail in the CG and another up at the Visitor Center (which was a 20 minute bike ride through forest and meadows). We were also able to ride our bikes for a couple hours on the "Great River Road" which passes through the CG. Visitor Center is well done and all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We camped at Mississippi River State Park in a Motorhome.

Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Campground in State Park located in the hills above Huntsville, AL. We stayed in space 75 - FHU and Level!! Cell service and OTA was OK, No dish due to trees. There was a washer and dryer in the restrooms that worked great. In the park there is a Japanese Tea Garden to walk through, as well as a nice North Plateau Trail that was a nice mix of forest and scenic vistas. Plenty of stores down the hill in Huntsville to restock at. We camped at Monte Sano State Park in a Motorhome.

Cades Cove Campground (NPS Campground), Townsend, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice CG in Smokey Mountain National Park. No hookups, No Cell, No OTA, No Dish. Water and Dump Station inside CG. We were in site B79 - which was level. Generous generator hours (8pm-8am). There is a town called Townsend with an IGA Supermarket (and Redbox) about 20 minutes away. There is also a nice CG Store with and ice cream counter. The Cades Coves 11 Mile Loop road starts right outside the CG and is a must do. It can take a couple hours to drive the road and stop at a lot of the sites. There is also a real nice hiking trail (Abrahm Falls) about 1/2 around the Loop. Plenty of Wild Turkeys and Deer in CG and on the Loop. Very friendly CG Staff! We camped at Cades Cove Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Elkmont Campground (NPS Campground), Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful CG in Smokey Mountain National Park. We were in space G7 - one of the many Riverside sites. No cell, no OTA, no Dish. Needed one leveling block on each front tire. Generator hours are from 8am-8pm. There is water and a Dump Station available at the Visitor Center (~ 10 Minute Drive). There are turn outs about 2.5 miles away on the road to Visitor Center near Laurel Falls. We were able to get strong cell signals there to make a couple calls and get emails. There is a nice self guided Nature Trail in the CG and plenty others to choose from a short drive away. The Visitor Center has good Cell coverage and is a great place to spend an hour learning about the park. We camped at Elkmont Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Lock A COE, Ashland City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park located on the Cumberland River. We were in space 37 - our 26 FT MH fit with no issue. Cell, OTA and Dish all worked fine. It was interesting to see the Barges heading up/down the river to/from the Lock. Lock was a flat ~2 Mile bike ride from the CG. There is a real steep road out of the CG that had us concerned, but our MH handled it just fine. Very friendly and helpful CG hosts! There is also a hiking trail, but we did not take it due to rain. We camped at Lock A COE in a Motorhome.

Bull Shoals - White River State Park, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Real nice State Park with many campsites right on the river. We stayed in space 51 and had great river access for morning and evening walks. There is a top notch Visitor Center located next to the dam. It takes about an hour go go through everything, then outside to enjoy the views. For Coffee lovers, there is a Starbucks inside the Harps Grocery Store in Bull Shoals! We camped at Bull Shoals - White River State Park in a Motorhome.

Columbus-Belmont State Park, Columbus, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nicely situated on the banks above the Mississippi River. Our site was #25 and we had nice views of the river and were able to watch the barge traffic. The host was great and very helpful. There is a insteresting old cemetery right across the road and also a nice walking trail through the park that offers great river views as well as interesting signs that informs of the Civil War history linkage. Beautiful, large trees all over the place! We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Queen Wilhelmina State Park, Mena, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Nice State Park on second highest peak in Arkansas. All campsites are arranged on either side of one straight road. We stayed in #1. It was level with good ATT cell and OTA channels. Dish would not work due to trees. There was good Wi-Fi available at the Lodge, which was an easy walk from the Campsite. There is also a buffet restaurant at the Lodge - but they also have a desert only option!! The views of Fall Colors was nice from the lodge and there were some nice 1-2 mile hiking trails with nice views. While #1 was a nice site, I think the ones farther down the road had more privacy. We camped at Queen Wilhelmina State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night in space #1. Site was level, cell service was good and we were able to get good satellite coverage. Trinidad Lake State Park, Trinidad, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Great State Park ~5 miles off the Interstate in Trinidad, CO. We stayed one night in space #52. Spaces are well above the Lake and have nice view of Lake, Mountains and Sunsets. Site was level, cell service good - as well as Dish reception. There was a real nice ~2 mile hiking loop and plenty of places to sit on a bench and just enjoy the views. Sites were nicely spaced out. Moraine Campground (NPS Campground), Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights in space A55. Site needed a couple blocks on th front tires and had no hook ups. Generator hours were fine and we were also able to use our portable Solar during the day. Cell coverage was poor and there were no OTA channels. We did not hook up Dish, but I am sure it would have been fine (from our site). There were plenty of Elk all over and the Shuttle Bus got us to all of the hikes we wanted to accomplish. While no hookups, there was water available at the entrance and a 1 hole dump station as well (I imagine that could get busy on some days). We camped at Moraine Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

We loved this USFS Camground, located ~15 miles West of Buffalo, WY. Sites backed up to a running Stream. We were in Space #7 (level). No Hookups, no Cell, no OTA, no Satellite. Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for one night is Space # 17. It has to be the best space in the CG!!. Site was level and there were no hookups. AT&T service was OK, Sprint was bad. OTA was good. While there was decent shade, we were able to use our portable solar panel during the day. Generator hours were fine. Easy walk to the River and Confluence. Also a 13 mile RT bike trail from the CG into Three Forks. We camped at Missouri Headwaters State Park in a Motorhome.

Swan Lake Campground - USFS, Swan Lake, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice NFS Campround in the Flathead National Forest. Sites were large with a lot of space in between. Campground hosts were incredibly freindly and always available to answer any questions. Sites had no hookups, but there was water at the entrance and generous generator hours. Site was totally level. No Cell Service, OTA or Satellite reception. We were able to get a good AT&T cell signal at a pullout on road ~2 miles North of CG. We had fun just walking through the Campgrounds and spending time sitting on benches at the Lake. Very nice spot for a couple nights. Price stated does not include $10 Service Charge to reserve online. We camped at Swan Lake Campground - USFS in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Spent two nights in space C104 in a 26' MH. Site was pretty level and had no hookups. It was a tight fit for us, but we were able to get our slide out. No cell service in CG, but there was Wi-Fi available at the Visitor center - a 10 minute walk. Great view of the Mountains, and we were able to get our Satelitte Dish working fine (no OTA). There were reasonable Generator hours and we were also able get our portable solar panel fired up for most of each day. There is a nice Shuttle Bus service available at Visitor Center that got us to/from all the hikes we could handle. Showers were nice, but crowded in the evenings.
