Ray Roberts State Park Isle du Bois Unit, Pilot Point, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We always enjoy a weekend at Ray Roberts Lake State Park. We had not been here for a while due to flooding, but on our recent trip, it looks like everything is back in order. We stayed in space 135 - where we were able to walk down a slight slope to the shoreline. Lots are spacious and mostly shady. Site surface was asphalt and featured a fire ring and picnic table. Staff was very helpful. We camped at Ray Roberts State Park Isle du Bois Unit in a Motorhome.

Inks Lake State Park, Burnet, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

First time visiting Inks Lake SP. You can get a discount on the stated price if you have a Texas State Park pass. Our site was on the lake with easy access to the shoreline. The trade off is that there was not much separating the sites. If you want more privacy, the sites away from the shore looked good. We had good Satellite and AT&T service. There are a number of nice hiking trails in the park. Nearby, you can visit Longhorn Caverns State Park (6 miles away) and Enchanted Rock (50 Miles). We camped at Inks Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Seminole Canyon State Park, Comstock, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park all the way on the Texas/Mexico Border. Our site had good satellite service and good AT&T cell service. Great hiking trails that you can also navigate with bikes. Also recommend taking the guided tour down the the Petroglyphs. It was a $5 per person fee, but very informative. You cannot visit the site without being on the tour. They are also in process of building a bird blind. Most of the shade trees are pretty short - I would think it would be pretty toasty in the summer - but great in the Late Fall/Winter/Early Spring. We camped at Seminole Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Brownwood State Park, Brownwood, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

First time to Lake Brownwood State Park. You can get a discount off the stated price if you have a Texas State Park pass. Our site (Space 4) had good Satellite service, good OTA channels and good AT&T cell service. There are some nice hiking trails in the park some real nice old Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) buildings. Trails cover both shoreline and forest. Only watch out would be to stay up from the waters edge if there is a big storm coming! We camped at Lake Brownwood State Park in a Motorhome.

South Llano River State Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Second time staying at SLR State Park. Park star. Was very friendly and check in was easy. Site was pretty level - 1 block needed on front tires. Space 21 is the most private in the park, but all sites looked good to me. There are a few very nice hiking trails, both down to the river and into the hills. There are also 4 very nice Bird Blinds that allow good wildlife viewing. We camped at South Llano River State Park in a Motorhome.

Palmetto State Park, Gonzales, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

First Time at Palmetto State Park. This is a pretty Small State Park with one main loop for RV's. We stayed space 19 and parked front in because of a better view. Spaces are not too tight and facilities were very clean. There is a great view of the San Marcos River less than 100 yards away and very nice hiking trails through the park. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Palmetto State Park in a Motorhome.

Madison Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Campground in a great location within Yellowstone National Park. Thirty minutes from Old Faithful and Norris Geyser Basin and 15 minutes from the city of West Yellowstone, MT. No hookups, but water and dump station available within campground. Easy walk down to the Madison River, where there were plenty of Bison and Elk to observe. We stayed in space F227 which was a pull through site with a great view of the mountains. Dogs need to stay on the pavement and off trails, but there was plenty of places to walk. Spaces appeared well spread out and check in process was not as bad as some earlier postings We camped at Madison Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Curt Gowdy State Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Great state park located midway between Cheyenne and Laramie. Plenty of well spaced out sites with many directly on the water. We stayed in Tumbleweeds #27. It was a pull through site that was pretty level and just a few steps away from the lake. There is plenty of great hiking in the park and very pet friendly - we have a small dog. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Curt Gowdy State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with sites right on the lake. There are some nice hiking trails and plenty of space to walk a small dog. We stayed in Bluestem #12 for one night. It was pull through, level and located right on the lakeshore. Everything is well spaced out in the campground and the stars were great at night! We camped at Wilson State Park, Otoe in a Motorhome.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Full hookup campground inside Grand Teton National Park. Lake Jackson is a 5 minute walk and has beautiful views of the mountains and there are some nice hiking trails around the lake. We stayed in space #99. It needed some minor leveling and good shade. Spaces in the campground are pretty close together, but nothing that impacted our slide out. If you have a bent towards full hook ups, this place will work.. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Holiday RV Park, College Station, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great little park to stay a couple nights. Location convenient to all things in College Station and staff is very friendly/helpful. Campground is very clean and seems well maintained. Our site faced the pool and had electric, water, sewer, cable and wireless internet. Plenty of space for walking a dog (their sign did say "Small Dogs Only"). Will definitely stay here whenever we are in College Station. No problem with access - I called ahead to the staff and they gave me easy directions We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Motorhome.
