Fairmont RV Park, Anaconda, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

First the good points. The showers are seriously one step away from being a five star. The only thing holding them back is a lack of a decent water pressure in shower head. Other than that they're very clean spacious and well done. There is a good general store and a great lounge as well as games for the kids. Our favorite part was the trail that makes it easy to get to Fairmont Hot Springs. My biggest gripe is that the rate is too high for what you're getting. We asked for a back in and were told that because you wanted to stay two nights we had to have a pull through only to find the pull through was really a back in just extra long. We were told to just pull over the lawn to get in. I was disgruntled to have to pay for a pull through and I specifically asked for a back in and then found that there were plenty of backins available for the next few days. Wifi wasn't fabulous but got the job done. Fluctuated. Verizon was three bubbles. Price does NOT include tickets to the pool. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Why on earth would you use a beloved childhood Icon for your park mascot and then charge extra for kids and make a big deal about LOVING seniors. Bizarre. This place charges WAY too much for what it is, a gravel parking lot. The Internet was...meh. The "award winning" shower house had cold showers. They also would not honor their agreement to not charge a kid tax on Fulltime Family Members. The Yogi hayless hayride looked like a death march. Yogi was far from amused at his circumstances. The upside? Huckleberry ice cream for one dollar. And super generous portions. Also, the kids pool looked awesome if not on the small side. There was cable too. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - Oceana, Ocean City, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects my TT status. There aren't any dump sites, except the two at the front, which is really only an issue because they don't offer any honey wagon services! It's older, the sites are tight but it's just a few hundred yards to the beach so it's do-able. The Wi-Fi at the lodge is hideously slow, so bring your own hotspot. The shower house is clean, I wouldn't choose this as a resort but it suits our needs. Bring your groceries, the store in town is overpriced and limited. We camped at Thousand Trails - Oceana in a Fifth Wheel.

Timber Wolf Resort, Hungry Horse, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park with lots of potential. A few tweeks and this place will be fantastic. Paying for showers isn't really a "resort" kind of thing. The free muffins that are top notch, now that is resort style! Overly picky about check out and in, that isn't resort. Fully stocked store, good Internet, that's a resort! Spaces that are too small and not mentioned on check in, not resort. Heavily wooded, lovely setting with privacy, that is a resort! A few tweeks and another season, this place will be all set! We camped at Timber Wolf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground, Kalispell, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects the weekly rate. Loved this place, and if we could stay all summer we would! Super kid friendly, great laundry room and lovely people at the desk. We extended our stay a million times and they were fantastic about it. They bent over backward to make it work. We loved the dock and the stream and the playground was top notch! We will be back! We camped at Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bearmouth Chalet RV Park , Clinton, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects a discount for Good Sam. LOVED this! Wide sites, right on the water, great fishing, and a wonderful young man as camp host. They were friendly and went out of their way to help us. Tons of skeeters, bring your spray! Lovely local, some highway noise. We camped at Bearmouth Chalet RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The staff makes this place! They are kind and helpful, and they really work to provide a great experience. The sites are gravel but they have a nice laundry room and a great camp store. The women's bathroom was immaculate. The dog park needs bags, but it was a great space. We couldn't get on their Wi-Fi but our Verizon data service worked fine. The mini golf looked fun but we ran out of time. We would stay again. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fairway RV Park, Blackfoot, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

You cannot beat this deal! Great grassy sites, kind people, and $20 for water and electricity! We got great Internet access with Verizon and our MiFi. Even four-six channels with our batwing antenna. Awesome! By the third day a baseball tournament had moved in and the parents were jerks about their out of control kids. The park staff helped us move to a more secluded space; they were wonderful! Great place, we will be back! We camped at Fairway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This rate reflects veteran discount. Nice park, no grass. Lovely veterans park with water feature. Tight spaces but fine for a couple nights. Great playground and looks like a nice BBQ place on site. We would stay again, especially given that the places we tried to boondock were really unsafe. Happy to pay for the safety this park provided. We camped at USA RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park and great if you have kids. We hope to stay 3 weeks next year! I felt very comfortable walking the dog at night, very safe. Nice pool, nice playground, lovely store and they make pizza right there on site! There is also a breakfast option but we didn't try that. A lovely Pecan grove onsite, nice residents. Right on a wonderful biking trail as well! We really enjoyed this place. (And the bus stops right in front, it's so close you can just hop on and ride straight down to the Alamo!). This place was really easy to get to and right in the middle of where we wanted to be. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

New Orleans West KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

THE STAFF HERE IS INCREDIBLE! It is gated, which is great given the neighborhood. The pool was closed but it's March. The dog park is small but fine, as is the playground. Good office/store. There is a shuttle that runs into town for a small fee. The staff can tell you all about how to get into the french quarter and what to do when your there. They are fantastic. Nice laundry room with great rates. Noticed some flooding after bad weather but our site (76) was fine. Will absolutely stay here again! We camped at New Orleans West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Bass Lake RV Campground, Dillon, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This was well worth the Passport America price at $18 dollars. Clean, well maintained, great office staff and a lovely lake with fish jumping! We didn't fish as it was really humid, but the laundry room was clean and really well priced so we took advantage of that instead. It's a great on/off location as well. This is a perfect, no frills stop. Would stay again if passing through. We camped at Bass Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gull Lake Recreation Area, Brainerd, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely! Very shady, tons of mosquitoes! Flat sites, nice tables and good fire rings. Hard to get our 32 foot into many of the sites. Able to catch lots of bluegill right below the dam. Nice park with plenty of room for walk ups. We were there with friends and had a great time! The beach had swimmers itch there a week previously so we didn't try it. We camped at Gull Lake Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Arrowhead Resort Camping Resort, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I expected much worse given the reviews but it wasn't THAT bad! Clearly, this park used to have some other paved sights but those are almost gone now, the crumbled asphalt is a reminder of where they used to be. The sites are NOT clearly marked and when we got in, after hours we were forced to try and find something near our site that we could fit into. Yes, there are a TON of "seasonals" here, people that are here fulltime, or all sumer. But I didn't feel unwelcome, there is a great pool, clean PAY showers and a great lodge area. This is the place if you have kids with you! Big park, tons of sports for them to do. Video games and swimming galore! We camped at Arrowhead Resort Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
