Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

You can't find a park that is better designed anywhere than this one. It's convenient to Denver, Red Rock, Golden and Boulder. Every site is a pull-thru about 80' long. Hookups are in the center. We have a 34' fifth wheel and a full size, extra long bed Dodge Ram. We unhooked and parked the truck behind and in front of our rig with enough room left over for a visitor to park their car. Each site perfectly level and is concrete. They are spacious about 100'+ between sites with well spaced Cottonwood trees and grass. No problems for satellite users. Nice large steel mesh picnic table. Clean laundry, restroom and vending machines. There are 40 miles of paved bike trails thru Cherry Creek State Park! You'll see deer and maybe if you are lucky a wild turkey. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fossil Valley RV Park, Vernal, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Fossil Valley RV Park is right in the middle of town on Hwy 40. The staff is extremely friendly and freely offers travel and sight seeing information. Level gravel sites with lush grass between the sites are well back from the road with no road noise, and there are no train tracks anywhere! It is directly across the street from Smith's Grocery and right next door to a Maverik gas station. The sites are all large and very well shaded with mature cottonwood and maple trees. All tree limbs are pruned to accommodate any height rig. You won't be sorry you read this and picked this park! We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fender's River Road Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful little park with boat ramp to the Colorado River. About one mile away from the interstate and no traffic noise. There are no train tracks near here - yeah! The manager is super. She showed us to our site which is gravel and level. The laundry is huge and spotless. The showers and restrooms are clean and up to date. I highly recommend Fender's River Road Resort for an overnight or vacation if you have a boat or wave runners. You can tell the owners and management want to make this park attractive and spotless. We will camp here again when passing this way! We camped at Fender's River Road Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park), Sun Valley, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

A good place for an overnight spot. This is the closest camping spot to the Petrified Forest Forest national Park. It backs to the freeway but there are sites closer to the access road with no traffic noise. The couple that run the park are friendly and meet you at your rig to register you. The sites are gravel and level with 30 and 50 amp service, water and electricity. Visually not the best park but this is an overnight bargain if you have Passport America! No other discounts available. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A real gem in the Santa Fe area.

This park is about 7 or 8 miles from old town Santa Fe, about a 12 minute drive. Fuel, restaurants and shopping about a five minute drive from the park. The staff is among the best and most helpful we encountered in our 3 month winter trip from coast to coast. The sites are currently $40/night or $36 for full hook up back in with a Good Sam discount. The park sets on a hill offering a 360° view of the surrounding desert below. The interior roads are gravel with plenty of room to maneuver our 32' 5th wheel into a back site with 50 amp. They also have pull through sites with 40' motor homes setting comfortably. All the sites are extra wide gravel with a huge 15'x30' new concrete patio slab with a picnic table. There are a few trees and some juniper for greenery, but satellite reception is not hindered. The Wi-Fi is outstanding. No cable TV but you'll easily pick up 40 over the air channels off your antenna. The park is extremely well maintained and has ingenious metal sculptures throughout the park, the handy work of one of the owners. There is also a display of antique gasoline hit and miss engines and old tractors along the back trail to the dog walk.

We would definitely return! We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Area's Finest Country View Campground, Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We've been driving across country and needed a site for the night. We were able to get a nice pull through site about 60 feet long. The couple that work here are very nice. We were shown to our site and they checked back to see if everything worked okay. We used the laundry and it was squeaky clean. We would defintly stay here again of we are in the area. Mormon Island State Recreation Area, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Traveling across country and needed an overnight spot. The park is very easy to find from I-80, you can see the freeway traffic from the campground but you don't hear it. The campground has the Platte River on one side and Mormon Lake on the other, choose your site then self register at the entrance. The gravel sites have 30 & 20 amp electricity only. Fresh water fill and dump station have easy access. We camped at Mormon Island State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Curtis Creek COE, Junction City, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Traveling across country and needed an overnight spot. 11 miles north of I-70. Plenty of sites available on a weekday. We saw only 2 other trailers in "A" loop. There are restrooms throughout campground. Water and electricity at the sites, big rig friendly. Lots of space between the level gravel sites. Wide interior roads for easy backing into sites. Park like setting with trees and play area for kids. Great value if you have a National Park pass $9 per night. Normal rate is $18. Tent sites $12. This is a beautiful location a real gem! Lazy Day Campground, Danville, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

T traveling across I-70 and needed a place to overnight. We called and they said come on over. The access from I-70 is about 5 miles. You won't hear traffic noise. Beautiful setting on a hill with terraced and level gravel wide pads and interior roads. The staff is friendly and we were led to our site. All sites have well made and clean picnic tables and each has a fire pit. The utilities were convenient and the Wi-Fi was okay. No cable, but the television reception was very good with a dozen channels. We would defiantly revisit if we're back in this area. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a 5th wheel trailer. St. Louis RV Park, St. Louis, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

There are no other RV parks in the heart of downtown Saint Louis. It is 3 miles to the Arch, a ride on a riverboat and there are no other RV parks in the heart of downtown Saint Louis. It is only 3 miles to the Westward Expansion Arch, Bush Stadium to see the Cardinals our take in a Rams game. It is run and maintained by a very nice couple. They will take all the time you need to give you directions and tips on where to visit and what food and restaurants to try. The bathrooms and showeres are sparkling clean.

Don't expect a park like setting, this is smack in the middle of the old part of the city. It is a parking lot with full hookups, no trees, or shrubs of any kind. It is walled in and the gate is chained in the evening. The police station is directly across the street. We felt safe and secure. We camped at St. Louis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

See the Westward Expansion Arch and go to the top. The Budweiser is a history lesson complete with the Clydesdales and a glass of your favorite brew at the end. Forrest Park is a beautiful large park with museums and bike trails. Try Ted Drews for a great custard, long lines but worth the the short wait.

Nice campground about 20 miles from Key West. Very narrow access roads with some trees on the edge and vehicles parked so it is difficult to turn corners and back in. We have a 32' 5th wheel. They will park it for you for a fee. They have a nice pool and laundry, cable works good, Wi-Fi is okay. Showers and restrooms cleaned daily. Key deer visit the camp sites daily.
