USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very Big Rig friendly. Easy check-in. Quiet at night. I don't mind airplane noise so the couple of takeoffs in the middle of the night didn't bother me. No road noise or trains at all. Great overnight stop. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Woods RV Park and Campground LLC, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig/satellite dish friendly. Not in the best part of town but no worries in the campground. Sites are gravel pads with grass in between sites. Spacing is ok. We were waiting for repair parts so it worked well for us. Convenient to interstate for getting into town if you want to. Quiet at night, some interstate noise but not too obtrusive. Good overnight option. We camped at The Woods RV Park and Campground LLC in a Motorhome.

Algonquin Trails Camping Resort, Dwight, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Called ahead and said I had a big rig and was told it would not be a problem. I was given a pull through site. It was a tight squeeze getting in and there was no way I would be able to pull out forward when I left. The owner needs to do some major tree trimming through out the park to make it big rig friendly.

This campground is in need of some sprucing up as far as the facilities go. The location is great and if you have a smaller rig it will do fine. Definitely not big rig friendly as it is now. We camped at Algonquin Trails Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Rainbow Falls Provincial Park, Rossport, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We tried to put a big rig in the electric sites in Whitesand Lake park. They need to do some serious tree trimming to put Class A motor homes in here as well as fifth wheel trailers. There are pull-through sites but the branches are too low and close in to even access the road to the sites. The park is very nice itself with plenty to do. Not big rig friendly. We camped at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Butte KOA, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Considering there isn't a whole lot of choices in Butte this is a nice, older campground with easy in and out for an overnight stay. We stayed 2 nights because we found plenty to do in the local area. It does fill up at night because it is big rig friendly. Good food at the attached Chicken Shack and the store in the KOA has lots of items including beer and wine. The owner is a good guy and helpful if you have questions. We were there when our neighbor had their bicycles stolen from the camp site. The police said to lock everything down as it has happened before. The city bike path is adjacent to the KOA and has been a route of ingress and egress for the bad guys. There is a rash of bicycle thefts in the area. My cheapo bikes were left alone. We camped at Butte KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out Philipsburg about a 40 minute drive away. Beautiful drive and interesting town. Great brewery in town.

Elk Meadows RV Park & Campground, Trout Lake, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a destination campground. The destination being an awsome view of Mt. Adams. The sites are heavily wooded and private. Very friendly check in. Don't expect to use your dish for TV as most sites are canopied with trees. Not much in the town of Trout Lake but plenty of outdoor activities nearby. Several whitewater rafting companies are near by. We camped at Elk Meadows RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
