Inland Harbor RV Park, Darien, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We are in a 38' motorhome towing a car, which I clearly stated when making reservations. The roads throughout the park are very narrow, making it difficult to navigate with your toad attached, as was turning into the parking site. The site was sloping forward, and we could barely get the car off the road. Placing the jacks down, and starting to hook-up, we found the sewer to be at near the entrance to the site, which placed it well beyond the thirty feet of hose we carry. Up come the jacks, one of which had broken through a poorly repaired pot hole, and disconnect the car to back coach to match hook-up placements. Beyond this fiasco, I think we were the only transits in the park. The other sites were filled with permanents.

Note: if you do decide to stay here, there is major construction at the off ramp and road to the park.

We will never stay here again. We camped at Inland Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Midway Campground Resort (formerly Statesville East I-40 Winston-Salem, Statesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

I would not stay here again. The sites are terrible in regards to level, which they are not, the roads are narrow and are difficult to navigate a big rig, as the turns are sharp with ditches on the outside of the turns. Yeah, it has a beautiful pool, and nice patios at the sites (if and when you can get in or out of the site), cable TV is nice, but this is an old campground that needs some work and thought given to today's motorhomes and the requirement for turning, i.e. tail swing with trees on either side. We just stopped for the night and though convenient from I-40, watch out for the turn off the highway onto the side road, WOW what a ride. Not worth the coin. We camped at Midway Campground Resort (formerly Statesville East I-40 Winston-Salem in a Motorhome.

Soaring Eagle Campground & RV Park, Lenoir City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I guess stayed at a different Soaring Eagle because our experience was totally different for other reviews. Easy access from I-40, camp was very nicely kept, water & electric fine, and as far as noise was concerned, we did NOT notice the noise from I-40. Plus, they can and do accept big rigs, at least up to 40 plus rigs. I will say the three speed bumps entering the grounds are an absolute over kill. Staff very friendly, and their pool looked clean and inviting. A perfect campground for an over night stay. We camped at Soaring Eagle Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crow Wing Lake Campground, Brainerd, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest campgrounds in MN. It is primarily a family oriented campground, with a huge play ground, shuffleboard, basketball, bean bag toss, and much more. A well kept pool the kids love, plus a nice sandy beach to use the lake. Boat docks for those with boats for skiing and fishing. The lake is small, but an excellent large mouth bass body of water. Water pressure, electric and sewer all very good. Slow WiFi, just like most camps, but it is available. The best fish cleaning station I have ever seen.
The sites are all gravel/sand, but well packed, roads are dirt and sometime interesting to navigate in a large rig. The owners are fantastic, helpful and accommodating. The only campground we've ever been in that rakes, cleans the fire pits, and general make the site ready for the next occupant. We camped at Crow Wing Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Brainerd does not offer much in the way of things to do. Shopping is good, with all the big outfits like WalMart, Fleet Farm, Gander Mountain, etc within 8 miles of the camp. The camp offers everything a family needs for a weekend vacation or longer.

Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP), Ham Lake, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A nice campground, but grass sites which can be a problem during rainy weather. Nice beach area on Ham Lake, and they rent boats for fishing at $25 a day. Staff are outstanding. Sites aren't too close together, allowing for awning and chairs for outside enjoyment. WiFi is good, at least where we were located, good water pressure and electric. Some sites are in the trees others open but with nice landscaping. Over all a nice place to spend a week or two. The entrance is small and the dirt road leading to the camp is rough, which gave me a very negative opinion initially, but once on our site all was well. Lots of seasonal trailers and 5th wheels throughout the camp. We would return here, if the occasion presents itself. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

Irvington Campground and RV Park, Menomonie, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This rating is miss leading, as this camp, in my mind, is for tenters and smaller trailers and 5th wheels. Sites are right next to each other, to the point that we did not have room to put out our awning. Our site had no sewer hookup, and had overhanging pine trees that swung across our roof. We were there only because it was the only campground we could find with in a fifty mile radius to spend the 4th of July weekend.

The camp for smaller units and tent campers is adequate to nice, depending on weather conditions. It rained hard while were there dumping 2 inches of water around our coach. No chance to receive satellite TV, and WiFi was iffy. They do rent canoes and tubes to float the river that runs by the camp.

The owners are very nice and helpful in all respects. My opinion on this camp is that it is for much smaller units than a 38 foot RV. That said, if you have a smaller trailer or tent camp, this would be a nice place to stay, so long as the weather holds. We camped at Irvington Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park, Lake Delton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park without all the amenities that we don't use, ie pool. Nicer folks and a nice campground for an overnight or to visit the WI Dells. Level sites, good TV with satellite, good electric and water. Most sites appear level. We would gladly stay here again. We camped at Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Milton KOA, Milton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

They put me in a very narrow site with a cottonwood tree directly behind the coach. That tree has cost me $95 so far and the rear A/C still is not working properly. The tree filled our A/C with seed cotton during our entire stay. If you plan on staying in this camp in late June, ask to be place well away from the many cottonwood trees that abound in the park. If you go on a weekend, plan on the place to be near full with families with children that love evening fires. Though this park has many good reviews, it is not the type of camp we look for. Could not get TV from our dish (again, trees everywhere except two rows of sites), and there is an entire section of park models. Overall we did not enjoy our stay here. Our site was so small we had no room to place the provided picnic table, and barely enough to open our chairs. Site was level enough and most others looked that way. We camped at Milton KOA in a Motorhome.

Columbus Woods-N-Waters, Columbus, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

First and foremost, I would not consider this a big rig friendly park for anything over 36'. Second, the road to the park is very narrow, with one low hanging tree. Once in the park, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the roads are gravel and just adequate, the sites are very close together, narrow and level. However, if you have Direct or Dish TV, forget it, you are parked under dozens of trees. Of note, if you want a pull through site (not many here) there is "no" sewer hook-up. Our site was just long enough for our 38' coach towing a Ford Focus. That said, once in the site, our step was in a mud hole. There are multiple full time residents mostly in pull behind trailers and 5th wheels. Some of these trailers are less than nice setups. We would not stay here again, but rather find something further south or north of here. We camped at Columbus Woods-N-Waters in a Motorhome.

White Acres Campground, Bardstown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

What a wonderful surprise this little campground turned out to be. Yes, the sites are very narrow and difficult to level a RV, and, yes, your neighbor is "right" next door, but all that is overcome by the pastoral surroundings and the overall upkeep of this park. The big plus is the town of Bardstown, a wonderful place to visit when you want a laid back atmosphere with lots of things to do and see. We stayed in a 38' RV, and we would absolutely stay here again. (Get off the interstate ) We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Museums are plentiful for train enthusiast, Civil War buffs will find two great little museums to visit, and, of course the multitude of distilleries to visit . . ... some free some charge for their tours, all are interesting. Drive the 20 miles or so to Bardstown, and White Acres Campground, it is well worth the effort.

Texas T Campground, Cornersville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay if you are on the road and need a place to stay overnight. It is just off I-65, easy on, easy off. Really nice folks at the desk. Every thing worked as it should. Level sites, with easy hook-ups. Would stay here again if traveling north or south on I-65. Big rigs swing wide at the entrance to the camp as the driveway is a bit narrow, but NO problem. We camped at Texas T Campground in a Motorhome.

Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

As usual, this KOA is like most KOAs, old, narrow one lane roads, lousy speed bumps and the leading road to the park is very narrow and busy for a large motor home. We've been on the road for three years now and, as yet, we have stayed in ONE KOA that was a really nice park. You pay top camping dollar for this and most KOA camps and they don't add up to the price. We are not impressed. We camped at Bowling Green KOA in a Motorhome.

Travelers Campground, Alachua, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, but strange setup for camping sites with coaches and 5th wheels lined up behind each other, and I mean right behind so the one in front has to leave before anyone else can. The speed bumps will rattle you cage, and shake heck out of you coach/trailer. Other than that, it is a nice camp to stop over night or for several days. We camped at Travelers Campground in a Motorhome.

Forsyth KOA, Forsyth, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is one of the worst I've stayed in the last three years of camping. Most KOA's are old and not too good compared to other non franchised campgrounds. That said, the folks at the office were nice, but the park is run down and the roads are absolutely terrible. Not only are they so narrow there is room for only one car, much less a motorhome. I don't have a clue what you would do if you met a vehicle coming the opposite direction as you. Narrow, yes, full of pot holes yes, yes and yes. I would not stay here again unless it was the only place I had to get off the road. We camped at Forsyth KOA in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

If traveling north or south on I-95 and need a place to stay, this is the place. It is a beautiful campground, well maintained, friendly staff, good full hookups, good WiFi and satellite reception, nice pool, and good spacing between units. For a night's stay or a place to see Brunswick. Would recommend this place to everyone. Would stay here again whenever possible. We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.
