We booked a spot in advance, online, that had water and electric hookups. We were in #037. We were not far from the dump station, so it wasn't too much trouble to use it when we needed. We stayed 4 days, 3 nights. Since we were visiting friends that were staying in Omaha, we drove into the town frequently. It was about 25 minutes drive. We did not check out any other part of the park. It was very pretty. The spots were kept level and had plenty - plenty - of space between each one. When we arrived and checked in, the girl told us that the day before they were having problems with the dump station. She didn't know if it had been fixed and suggested that the next closest one to use was in either Fremont or Yutan. Having come a long way, we were a bit discouraged, but we decided to check out our spot first. In the hopes that maybe the girl was wrong, my husband decided to make sure the information we were given was correct. Turns out, there was no problem with the dump station at all. We were delighted! I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here last year this time. It's great for us as we only need a one night stay close to the main travel route. This year we have an R-pod 20ft travel trailer with one pop out. They are very friendly and always have a cart ready to lead you to your spot and help you get parked. We used full hookups and everything worked well. Grounds are in great condition and the spots are level. Outside the trailer I could hear some light traffic noise, but inside I couldn't. Very nice mature tree provide cover and picnic tables are throughout. I didn't use the public restrooms but my husband did. He said they are very nice and clean and they have a pin code to get in.

August 1, 2013: We stopped for a night at Melgaard Park Campground with an RV (40 ft/4 pop outs). We called ahead to reserve and they don’t take reservations but did state that they were rarely ever full. The spots were nice and level, well tended, but a bit tight getting in and out for us - that is the only reason for deducting a star. They have electric hookups only, but the water for flushing and potable water fill-ups as well as the dump station we easily accessible. They have showers and bathrooms on site. The camp ground is part of a very large, beautiful and well groomed public park. We took an early evening stroll and saw a sand volleyball court, tennis courts, a skate park, children's playground, bike paths as well as dog obedience classes and people walking their dogs. We happened to catch a wind symphony performance in the park as well and it was very enjoyable. There are also many mature and beautiful trees throughout. All in all a very beautiful place from what we saw and very easy to get to.

This place has wonderful managers who are very friendly and personally lead you to your spot. Everything was well kept. The spots were spacious and easy to get in and out of with the 40 ft RV. They had places to walk the pets and a children's playground. It is very close to the highway; however, we were not bothered by the noise. If you are in a tent it might be a different story. They have shade trees, picnic tables, and full hookups which is always nice. We were able to make reservations and would go back again.
