Cottonwood Cove, Wagon Wheel Gap, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This August will be our 3rd year to stay at this awesome park. There are no showers or restrooms in the park, but there are restrooms located in the Lodge. The sites are nothing special, but the views are remarkable, being located in a canyon with walls of almost 1000 feet tall. The Rio Grande flows through the park and is available for float trips furnished by the park. Guided horseback riding is also available. Some days you can watch the bighorn sheep gracefully come down the mountainside and graze next to the park. The gift shop is worth the trip and the restaurant is very good. I hate to write this review because it is getting harder to get a spot as it gets more RVers staying here. There is free Wi-Fi and it is good if you are close to the laundry or you can access it on the bench at the laundry. TV reception is nonexistent so bring your satellite dish or lots of movies. Phone service is lousy, but you can drive a mile up the road and Verizon is great! We camped at Cottonwood Cove in a Travel Trailer.

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with most of the reviews and will stay there again. The rock haulers were a little annoying during the day, but most people gone on day trips anyhow. We got to watch maneuvers by the soldiers at Ft Carson in helicopters . The numerous deer in the park were an added attraction. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The sites were as big as I have ever seen at any park. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lamar Sportsman's RV Center and Horse Motel, Lamar, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

My comments are similar to the ones already posted except that on our departure day the wind shifted to the North West and brought the odor of a cattle feed lot next door into the park. For a one night pass through it was OK, but I wouldn't want to have an extended stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, but I thought that having a beauty salon in the office was weird. We camped at Lamar Sportsman's RV Center and Horse Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Fireside Resort at Buffalo Valley , Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $96.00
Overall Rating:

Where do I start? We stayed at this park due to the lack of parks that can handle large rigs in the Teton area. Park is way overpriced for what you get in a site and service. The staff were super nice and helpful, but that is the only positive I found. The park is infested with hoards of ground squirrels and they can be quite a nuisance. The sites were small and uneven and very close together. The area is low and wet and we could not go outside at night for the swarming mosquitoes. Next time we will stay elsewhere. We camped at Fireside Resort at Buffalo Valley in a Fifth Wheel.
