Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

What a treat to find this campground! We didn't have a reservation but it was a weekday and we got the last site with electric and water. There are many dry camping spots. The bathroom looked clean but I did not use them or the showers. The grounds were very well kept in the desert style, but the views from the campground are the best! It is at the base of a mountain and you can see for miles. Not far from White Sands and the town of Alamogordo. There are nice trails for hiking but we did not stay long enough to try them out. The sites are spacious, on gravel and lined with rocks, with nice picnic table and fire ring. Everything worked great and very nice camp host and visitor center. We camped at Oliver Lee Memorial State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Outlanders River Camp, Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very well-kept park. Good space between sites. Level gravel sites with grass, picnic table and fire ring. Must buy wood from them. River access is down wooded slopes accessed by nice trails or golf cart which can be rented. You can check out the aerial photos of the campground on the website. Beautiful views all around. It is a fairly new campground and owners are doing a great job, however, I think the price is too high for no wifi or laundry. We got a slight break for staying 6 nights. We camped at Outlanders River Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Nice historical town of Luray nearby, Luray Caravan is a good side attraction to see.
