Stayed 3 nights waiting to go to Newmar Factory (about 20 miles away). This is a pretty big park surrounded in the rear by line of large trees with trees sprinkled throughout the center of park. We were in a pull-through at back of park. Plenty of space between spots. Grass was well manicured and spots are level with gravel. The park has a pool, a mini golf putt course and playground. Elkhart is a nice community. The RV/MH museum is here and a lot of associated RV shops to get things done...like furniture makers (who we used) and OEM furniture showroom (Bradand Hall) in Elkhart. A nice Amish community also that provides shops and services. Check In staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Stayed overnight. Make sure you get directions from park web site or call. There is a lot of road construction coming off interstate and your GPS may disappoint you. Once you go down the long road, (which is near residential areas) follow the signs (there are several) to the end (even when you see the Dead End sign). The last sign will turn you left into park about 200 yards away. If you don't you may do like we did and turn into the "Trailer Park Section". The park is very neat and orderly and mostly under trees (and shady) which are all trimmed up, and by a nice lake. It is a pleasant environment. Our site was hard pan small gravel as is most sites, but level and had cable hook ups. We had a 44' coach and they have pull-throughs that will accommodate big rigs. There is a Pilot Truck stop on way in or out which is convenient. We would stay here again. Because it was a holiday weekend, closed early on Saturday so did not run into staff.

Gave it a 3 because the electric and water worked. This is mostly a residence park and is dated. They may have about 4 or so spots for transient stays. Space was on grass. If it rains, you may be in trouble. They close by noonish on Saturday, so never saw any staff. In hindsight would have been as good to stay at truck stop or at a Walmart. It IS easy to find of the interstate (about 3 miles) But it is an old park not very well kept up and overpriced at $32.00 While the pickings are slim in this area, think I would stop a little further up the road in Mt. Pleasant. Sign out front says, "Best Little RV Park in Texas" clearly part of someone's delusion! They just don't take care of this place.

Stayed here for one week in a 43ft Diesel Pusher. There are numerous sections and elevations to this park. It is tucked away and about 13 miles from hwy 78 which goes to the coast (Oceanside-Carlsbad) and IH 5. We normally stay closer in but our regular park was booked. The only down side to this park is WI-FI and Telephone (Verizon) service. It is extremely week and sometimes unusable and it was a necessary item for us. For that reason alone, I could not stay here again (we work while on the road). I understand it is not totally there fault. We used our own Hot spot. They provide Tengonet for 1 computer and charge for any others. Access to spaces for big rigs is good....they will selectively place you where you will fit. It has many trees available and two ponds, and family friendly. Many travel trailers and permanent residents but the park is very well maintained , clean and manicured. It is easy access from IH 15 and about 12 miles to the north end of Escondido. I could not stay here again because of communication access issues.

We overnite in Van Horn several times a year passing through and normally stay at the KOA. Not anymore. We decided this trip to try something different after reading the other reviews of Mountain View. A pleasant surprise. The new ownership family is doing a nice job. Sites are plenty big - no stepping on your neighbor. Almost every site has a Neat Pine tree. Sites are level, hookups are all what you would expect and the driving isles are plenty big to negotiate any rig. The mountain views in evening are terrific and overall very glad we stayed here. The owners couldn't be more accommodating even offering free transportation to local restaurants if you don't want to unhook your tow vehicle. We enjoyed our stay and will make this our Van Horn Stop. Easy Access and signage.

This is a fairly new RV park addition to an existing park. Park sites are concrete and roads blacktopped. I would have given it a 10 except the spaces are a bit tight side to side The manager here could not be nicer and more accommodating. She lives on site and is readily available. We were here for about 3 weeks coming and going the whole time visiting family all over and using Vista as a hub. Wanted to be on the coast but couldn't get a reservation in time and a place that would accommodate my 42.5 footer. Vista is only about 7 miles from the coast. Wifi was excellent. Pool and spa were nice and clean. Wash facilities were great. The weather in Vista is as good as anything in North County. I would stay here again.
