Candy Hill Campground, Winchester, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Two words: clean and insane. If you have no plans to bring children and need someplace to stay overnight, it works. On the other hand, if you have children, stay away. Imagine if Gunnery Sergeant Hartman ran a KOA on Parris Island, but I've digressed. I give them a TEN for cleanliness and a MINUS EIGHT on everything else. Fort Whaley Family Campground, Whaleyville, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

I highly recommend this campground to the point that we have stayed there every summer, for at least 1 week, for the past seven years. Very family oriented and nice size sites - quality establishment. Stayed at Frontier Town (Fort Whaley's sister campground) a few times, IMO, a rougher crowd stays there and lots of visits from the MD State Police to break up fights, etc. We camped at Fort Whaley Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Frontier Town Family Campground, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Camping should not include seeing the Maryland State Police break up fights, tires being burned, and my favorite, the drunk man who was throwing empty beer bottles a trailers. Overall, small sites, cramped, and attracts the wrong type of campers. Water park and the Western Theme Park are nice. Overall, clean and staff is very nice. I don't plan to stay there in the future. Greenville Farm Family Campground, Haymarket, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is near our home and makes for a quick outing. I really like this place BUT they really need to put some $$$ back into the campground. Kind of strikes me that the owner is in a "run-to-failure" mode. Bathrooms/showers are always clean, nice pool but not much more to write about. We camped at Greenville Farm Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
