Riverbend Campground, Noblesville, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this charming campground! The price was amazing, especially for a full hookup, and it was cleaner than the last state park we visited. The facilities are not modern, but are well-maintained. We camped less than 20 ft from the riverbank! Everyone was very friendly. We can't wait to go back and camp there again! We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Motorhome.

McCormick's Creek State Park, Spencer, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful state park. Great facilities, lots of dumpsters. The creek is amazing, and the campground is right in the middle of the woods, with the west fork of the White River on the north side of the property (and a walking trail to the river). The park's naturalists are very friendly and knowledgeable. There is WiFi available at the park's hotel, The Canyon Inn, which also features a fantastic (if a little pricey) restaurant. The food is delicious, and the glass enclosed dining room/porch is an awesome experience- especially in winter when the birds visit the feeders. I think all the state parks are a little high-priced, but they do offer a lot. We camped at McCormick's Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Mounds State Park, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fascinating area, and despite some disappointments, I'm glad we stayed here. The Mounds were very serene, and the pool was nice; especially, the part for young children. The shower and pool house were not very clean. There were bugs and a bit of debris in both. The park trails were not clearly marked (even the campground worker agreed with us on this!) and the map was little help. We walked for nearly an hour circling one of the mounds on both sides before finding it. It was, in fact, only a 15 minute walk from our campsite. We camped at Mounds State Park in a Motorhome.
