Morefield Campground (NPS), Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Perfect location for a visit to Mesa Verde National Park as the campground is located four miles inside the national park. Once past the entrance station, the road climbs and winds as you travel towards the campground store where you register. The sites are back in and fairly easy to access. We had no phone service at our site but did at the back of the campground towards the amphitheater parking lot. We camped at Morefield Campground (NPS) in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from interstate. Very nice park with angle pull thru sites. The park provides nightly bar-b-que dinners which have to be paid for in advance. They also provide ice cream every night but you pay for that at the time you order. The only negative is the sites are close together. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is across the street from the Bluff Fort. Good location for day trips to Natural Bridges National Monument, Hovenweap National Monument, Mexican Hat and Cedar Mesa (Moki Dugout - no trailers or large RVs), Valley of the Gods, Four Corners. Limited number of restaurants in town open for dinner. Twin Rocks Restaurant was good, pricey. Owner of campground was very helpful with travel information. Hwy 162/163 to 160 towards Cortez, CO.has many many humps and driving slower in the RV helped.

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Good location for day trips to Zion Canyon National Park, Kolob, and St. George. No pool or other activities. We requested a shady site and assigned a pull thru site, paid a little more. These sites do have have more shade although most sites have trees except the satillite sites which are considered the super sites. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Motorhome.
