Newport / I-40 / Smoky Mountains KOA, Newport, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as a stay over and it could be a really nice campground if managed properly. It had a nice big pool that wasn't as clean as we would've hoped for. The restrooms were updated but not real well kept. All in all we had a pretty good time but I wouldn't recommend it as is. We camped at Newport / I-40 / Smoky Mountains KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Our experience here was mostly positive. The pool, lazy river, dining, activities and beach access were terrific. The sites are close which is expected; however, our site (892) had a tree in the middle of the front of the site but it was manageable. We were in the inland section but if we went back would prefer the beach area. The restrooms/shower houses were terrible. They were dirty and outdated with faulty door latches and low shower doors. I typically use the camper facilities but I expect better restrooms at their price point. This was the only reason to drop the rating though. We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA, Fancy Gap, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding campground. I would highly recommend if you will be in the area. We used it as a one night stay on our way to Myrtle Beach and it would have been nice to stay a couple more nights. They had a small pool but the staff was some of the most friendly I've encountered. Their restrooms were terrific. We camped at Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA in a Travel Trailer.
