Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park, Hope, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are big and there are some nice trees. However there are a lot of full time campers living here and things are quite run down. The spot is very close to a major highway and very noisy. There were people building shelters for their trailers so a lot of noise from power tools etc. We were here for 4 nights which we had pre-booked. It isn't a destination but more of a stopover. On day 2 of our stay, the pump for fresh well water malfuntioned and there seemed to be no urgency to fix this even though everyone was without fresh water. It never did get fixed before we left. There was one bathroom that was very clean but the other one was old and run down. Of course when there was no fresh water the washrooms were closed. We would never go back to this campground. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gold Mountain RV Park, Hedley, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our 2-night stopover here. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The park was quiet and clean. We would definitely stop here again if travelling through that area. We camped at Gold Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Moon Shadows RV Park & Campground, Merritt, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This place looks much nicer in pictures than in person. Roads aren't great, sites are completely ungroomed and unmaintained. Apparently, they have not heard of a rake, weed eater or lawn mower. Our fire pit was full to the top with old coals. Some sites with junk piled everywhere, very unsightly. Where we camped, the sites were so close together that our sewer hose was pretty much directly underneath the next guy's picnic table. Very friendly lady at the store, but that's about the only positive at this place. Would never return or recommend. We camped at Moon Shadows RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pierre's Point Campground, Salmon Arm, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

I would not recommend this campground to anyone for any reason. Dusty, dirty and unkept are 3 things that come to mind. The bathrooms and showers were not the worst I've seen, but certainly could be better. There is nothing done to groom the sites. Ours was partially grassy, partially dirt. The beach appears to never have been raked or cleaned up. Really, a little bit of maintenance could make this a lovely campground on one of our favorite lakes in the world. There are trains all night long, but we knew that before going in, so I am not complaining about that. The beach sites we were told could easily fit 2 tents and 2 vehicles (for $65 a night), barely fit 1 tent and vehicle. The campers are squished in like sardines throughout. This we could have accepted if there was any kind of pride of ownership here. On the way out, the sanitation dump is on the wrong side of the road and you either have to turn around or have a very long hose. Sorry, Pierre's Point, you do not have my recommendation. Very sad misuse of your beautiful land. We camped at Pierre's Point Campground in a Tent.
